Gardenia

Gardenia is a brand new energy-efficient house, which is built entirely of ecologically valuable materials. It is south-facing and the kitchen/living area opens out onto its own patio through sliding patio doors. The kitchen is modern with quartz worktops, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and coffee maker. The double bedroom is also south-facing and opens out onto the garden through sliding doors. The bathroom has a floor-even shower, washbasin, wall-hung wc and bidet. Gardenia is situated on the east side of the main house and therefore remains in the shade during the hottest hours in summer months.


About the property

The property is situated on the south west coast of Lake Garda, surrounded by a 15 acre private estate of meadow and olive trees, opposite the old roman village of Agneto. It is just minutes away from Salò, an historic old town, embedded in a large bay with the longest promenade of any town on the lake and is ideal for shopping and strolling around.

As well as a 2-bedroom apartment, as of 2018 we also offer a separate one-bedroom house. Both are tastefully decorated and each has its own private entrance. The main house is composed of four apartments: two on the first floor where the owners live. Aideen lives in one with her husband and two boys. Her sister- and brother-in-law live in the other. The two ground floor apartments are rented out to holiday-makers. Each apartment has its own private entrance and patio.

"Lavanda" caters for 2 to 4 guests.

"Gardenia" caters for 2 guests.

Lavanda is situated on the ground floor of the main house. The kitchen/living area is south-facing and opens out onto its own large, tiled and covered patio that is furnished with a rattan sofa set, table and chairs, giving guests the possibility of “al fresco” dining. The two-bedrooms are east-facing and shaded by shrubs so do not get hot in summer months.

The large garden is completely enclosed with fencing and an electric gate. An above-ground 8x4 meter swimming pool is located in the front garden.

Just 100 meters from our house you'll find a very quaint restaurant "Osteria La Vigna" that serves traditional Italian food with an excellent selection of good Italian wines. Literally a two minute walk from our house.

About Aideen Connolly

My name is Aideen and I've been living in Italy since 1993. I live here with my Italian husband, our two children, Luigi (15 yrs) and Liam (12 yrs), my brother-in-law and his wife. Each year, in November, we harvest our olives and produce our own olive oil. We love living here, my husband was born and grew up here so we couldn't imagine living anywhere else. We enjoy gardening, like having our own fresh vegetables, fruit and a daily supply of organic eggs.

Why Aideen Connolly chose Roè Volciano

We were lucky to inherit our property, which we have been improving on, each year, since 2000. I love this area because we're so close to the lake but at the same time we can fully relax in our garden, away from all the hustle and bustle. We haven't built walls around our house because we prefer the view we have, fields, olive trees and Agneto, the tiny Roman village just opposite. We have tried to make our property as comfortable as possible and there is a good selection of reading material and dvds for our guests.

What makes this bungalow unique

The outdoor space is definitely a bonus. There are no other houses near us; we're completely surrounded by fields. I've always loved the idea of having my own garden so this is really heaven for me or to quote a guest: "it's a small piece of paradise"!

Booking Notes:
A deposit of 50% is required on booking. The remainder to be settled in cash on day of arrival. Credit cards are not accepted.

Changeover Day:
Changeover in summer months is on Saturday, check out between 9.30 and 10am and check in between 2.30 and 6pm, flexible at other times.

Notes on prices:
Lavanda: prices shown are per week and include electricity, water, gas, 1 auto parking, final cleaning on departure. Bed linen and towels: €10/person.
Margherita: prices shown are per week, in summer months include bed linen/towels, electricity, water, gas, 1 auto parking, final cleaning on departure, in winter months gas is charged separately (meter reading).

We ask that the kitchen area is left clean in both apartments. 100 euros security deposit is requested on arrival.

Distances:

Oliveto is just 2 km away from Lake Garda and for those interested in sports, a sports centre with tennis courts is just a walk away. The bank, post-office, chemist and supermarket are just a few minutes from the house by car. Central location for visiting Verona, Bergamo, Brescia and in winter ski resorts are a little over 1hr by car. All in walking distance: pizzeria/ristorante that serves excellent seafood, a caffe with fresh pastries and a birreria that also serves food.
