Peaceful location in Roè Volciano near Salo. Surrounded by 15 acre private meadow and olive groves

The property is situated on the south west coast of Lake Garda, surrounded by a 15 acre private estate of meadow and olive trees, opposite the old roman village of Agneto. It is just minutes away from Salò, an historic old town, embedded in a large bay with the longest promenade of any town on the lake and is ideal for shopping and strolling around.

At the moment we offer one apartment, which is tastefully decorated and has its own private entrance. The house as a whole is composed of four apartments: two on the first floor where the owners live. Aideen lives in one with her husband and two boys. Her sister- and brother-in-law live in the other. The two ground floor apartments are rented out to holiday-makers. Each apartment has its own private entrance and patio.

"Lavanda" caters for 2 to 5 guests.

"Gardenia" will cater for 2 guests but will not be ready for 2017.

Lavanda is situated on the ground floor of the house. The kitchen/living area is south-facing and opens out onto its own large, tiled and covered patio that is furnished with a rattan sofa set and tables and chairs, giving guests the possibility of “al fresco” dining.

Gardenia has yet to be completed.

The large garden is completely enclosed with fencing and an electric gate. A new above-ground 8x4 meter swimming pool is located in the front garden.

Kitchen/living area: south-facing, opens onto a large patio through 2 French windows. Cooker/oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, moka, toaster, all necessary utensils for cooking, double sofa bed, armchair, Satellite LED 40" Smart TV with Internet and 2 USB ports.

Double bedroom: east-facing, double bed, bridge wardrobe, drawers, book shelves and reading light, flat screen TV and DVD player.

Second bedroom: adult bunk-beds, wardrobe, drawers.

Both bedrooms are shaded by two walnut trees and receive sunlight in the morning only so remain pleasantly cool in summer months. Both look out onto the side patio and garden.

Bathroom: sink, wc and shower. Washing machine. Hairdryer provided.

Air-conditioning in all rooms.

Free WI-FI.

Cot/high chair are available on request.

Covered terrace: completely tiled, rattan sofa set, table and chairs.

We give our guests a bottle of our own olive oil on arrival for use during their stay here.

About the Owner

My name is Aideen and I've been living in Italy since 1993. I live here with my Italian husband, our two children, Luigi (13 yrs) and Liam (10 yrs), my brother-in-law and his wife. Each year, in November, we harvest our olives and produce our own olive oil. We love living here, my husband was born and grew up here so we couldn't imagine living anywhere else. We enjoy gardening, like having our own fresh vegetables, fruit and a daily supply of organic eggs.

The villa was absolutely fantastic, catered to our every need and was very comfortable. It is the perfect destination for travelling round the area. Gorgeous apartments with a homely feel. Perfect size with a well equipped kitchen and excellent terrace area. We were provided with the most amazing olive oil. The house is in beautiful surrounds which are peaceful but not far away from the local hostelry which sells lovely food for a very good price. Friendly people too. This is a delightful apartment with attentive hosts, the apartment is well equipped with every thing you need. Even though there is an apartment next door it is still private. The surrounding areas are wonderful to visit

Super Lake Garda getaway

First time using Owners Direct and we feel like we came up trumps with this holiday hangout. With 2 toddlers it was the perfect place, safe for the kids and they just loved being able to wander about with the chickens and dog and other pets. In a beautiful spot and nice to be able to get away from the 'busyness' of the Lake front. Apartment was cool, very clean and homely. Hosts made us feel immediately relaxed and at home. Definitely recommend this to others. Thank you!

Just Perfect

We have just spent a lovely family holiday at the Margherita apartment. The location was perfect - peaceful and relaxing yet near enough to Salo for shopping, eating out and visiting the lake. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed - the owners even kindly supplied some of their own produce including a bottle of delicious olive oil, a great pity we only had hand luggage so were unable to purchase some to take home! A big 'thank you' to Maria & family (Margherita) and Aideen & family (Lavanda) for making us feel so welcome. Would certainly recommend this property and hope to return.

Perfect trip

My boyfriend and I visited the property in early June and we had a fantastic time. The owners were extremely welcoming and were more than happy to help with any queries or issues that we had. Aideen even surprised us with a basket of fresh courgettes and a bowl of rasberries during our stay! The location was perfect as it was only a short walk down to the lake and we were surrounded by beautiful scenery. We didn't hire a car as we were more than happy to walk to and from the lake but if we were coming back particularly late one night a taxi was only about €7 or €8! The apartment itself was extremely clean and tidy and furnished with everything you could possibly need. The open plan kitchen and living area was spacious and modern and we utilised this a lot during our stay because we did a lot of cooking. The owners even provided us with a bottle of olive oil and balsamic from the grove (definitely make use of the Olive Oil it was delicious - I even brought a bottle home with me). The rest of the apartment was also very comfortable and nicely furnished and remained really cool despite the hot temperatues thanks to air conditioning and shutters. My boyfriend and I are definitely hoping to come back and stay at this property again in the future. It is in a great location, the apartment is lovely and the owners are so welcoming. I would definitely recommend this property!

Peacefully Perfect

We spent a wonderful week at the Lavanda property. The accommodation was perfect for our needs - modern, tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and well supplied with everything we needed. Having wifi (even though the signal was a little weak at times) was a bonus. We especially liked the large covered porch which meant that we ate every meal outside - even when we had some rain showers! The surroundings were beautiful and so restful, we couldn't have asked for more. The property owners were so welcoming - Aideen and the boys were away, but Diego and the rest of the family were kind and helpful, giving us tips on where to go and what to do. Although you do need a car, you are still not far away from lot of places to visit. We made trips to Venice (by train) and Verona as well as visiting other places closer - Salo, Gardonne, Desenzano and Manerba Del Garda. There were lots of local places to visit for eating out at reasonable prices and a number of supermarkets in the area were easily accessible for stocking up on items for our self-catering needs. We would thoroughly recommend this property and really hope we can be back in the near future to visit all the places we didn't get to and absorb some more of the peace and tranquility of the beautiful surroundings.

Peaceful, relaxing apartment.

We spent a week in Apartment Lavanda and really enjoyed ourselves. Aideen and her family made us feel most welcome and were always friendly and helpful. The apartment provides comfortable accommodation with a well equipped kitchen, good size bedroom and pleasant bathroom. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and well furnished.

The terrace provides a lovely area to sit out and enjoy a meal and drink while looking out on the spacious and well tended lawned garden and the surrounding hills and mountains. The apartment is well situated for exploring beautiful Lake Garda. We particularly enjoyed the villages and towns along the western shore. The gardens in Gardone Riviera were particularly memorable. Nearby Salo is a very attractive town with a long promenade and plenty of good shops and places to eat. A car is essential although I'd also recommend using the lake boats to explore the eastern and southern shores. A lovely area and an excellent base to explore it from.

Location

From the Owner

We were lucky to inherit our property, which we have been improving on, each year, since 2000. I love this area because we're so close to the lake but at the same time we can fully relax in our garden, away from all the hustle and bustle. We haven't built walls around our house because we prefer the view we have, fields, olive trees and Agneto, the tiny Roman village just opposite. We have tried to make our property as comfortable as possible and there is a good selection of reading material for our guests.

Brescia airport 30 mins by car. Bergamo 1hr by car. Milan Linate 90 mins by car. Verona airport 1 hr by car.

Car essential.

Distances:

Oliveto is just 2 km away from Lake Garda and for those interested in sports, a sports centre with tennis courts is just a walk away. The bank, post-office, chemist and supermarket are just a few minutes from the house by car. Central location for visiting Verona, Bergamo, Brescia and in winter ski resorts are a little over 1hr by car. All in walking distance: pizzeria/ristorante that serves excellent seafood, a caffe with fresh pastries and a birreria that also serves food.

Further Details:

Italy is famous for its cooking and we will be pleased to indicate several excellent restaurants just minutes away by car.

The outdoor space is definitely a bonus. There are no other houses near us; we're completely surrounded by fields. I've always loved the idea of having my own garden so this is really heaven for me or to quote a guest this year (2015): "it's a small piece of paradise"!

  • The Lavanda patio is separated from another groundfloor apartment with a laurel hedge and is ideal for relaxing and dining even in the event of summer rain showers. Walking paths directly from the house. Outside: Lavanda has its own large, tastefully furnished covered patio, completely tiled, with rattan sofa set, table and chairs. Guests are free to help themselves to fresh herbs from our spiral herb garden: sage, thyme, chives, basil, parsley, rosemary, and origano. The house is surrounded by gardens with a variety of plants, flowers and fruit trees (apricot, cherry, plum, peach, pomegranate, loquat, apple, almond, and walnut), a private estate with meadows and olive trees, kitchen garden and hens that provide us with a daily supply of organic eggs. Olive harvesting is from early November to mid December. Private covered parking place. Barbeque. Garden with sun-beds, table and chairs.
