Guestbook comments from the owner

We had the most relaxing time at Inishkeeragh Lodge. The layout of the house was magic with loads of room. The views from the balcony were stunning. At nights we played games and lit the fire a few times, as it was so cosy. We had a fantastic time and hope to be booking again soon. Annie Hughes, Belfast

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at this beautiful house. The house is really comfortable and very well equipped. We loved the fantastic balcony that led off the kitchen/dining/living space. The location is superb – right on the edge of the Lough. There’s so much to do in the area. Thank you, we’ll come again! Rachel & Nick, Belfast

Just returned from our 3rd visit to the house. The Lough side location is picture perfect and peaceful. It was great to sit round the log fire and play some of the board games kept in the house. Our boys had a blast, fishing off the jetty. With so much to explore and do we'll be back fairly soon. The Merrills, Glasgow

Great location to enjoy Fermanagh & Donegal

  • 4 of 5

Unusual split level lodge type home. Quiet. Handy for Belleek, Lusty Beg & not too far from Donegal, Enniskillen.

5 star relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking a scenic relaxing trip away with family and friends this is definitely a must! We have just arrived back from Inishkeeragh Lodge today and we are already talking about when we can go back. A beautiful house with space galore and the most gorgeous views of the lake. We lit the fire and cosied around for two nights and had everything we needed at hand. Thanks so much to the owner Hilary who provided us with all the details we needed, excellent directions and overall a friendly experience. We will definitely be back ☺

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The dramatic Rossnowlagh Beach outside Ballyshannon, is a surfers' paradise and the almost deserted Murvagh Beach on the west coast of Donegal are approximately 20 miles away. Rosses Point and Mullaghmore beaches in Co Sligo are about 35 miles away and are great for gentle strolls or flying kites!

Travel:

Kesh is approximately 90 miles (2 hours) from the main airports and ferry ports. A hire car is essential. Enniskillen town is approximately 25 miles distance. The nearest villages of Kesh and Belleek are approximately 9 miles away. Donegal town is about 40 minutes drive.

Distances:

Inishkeeragh Lodge is 9 miles from Kesh and Belleek (home to the famous parian china), 20 miles from Enniskillen and the Ardhowen Theatre. 40-50 minutes takes you to Donegal Town, famous for its handwoven tweeds and Aran knitwear. The famous Marble Arch Caves with its subterranean boat ride, magnificent stalagmites and stalactites is around 25 miles away and there is a choice of 3 National Trust properties all within 35 miles. For walkers there is a choice of forest parks within 10 miles.

Further Details:

Nearby Castle Cauldwell and Castlearchdale Forest Parks are ideal for a gentle stroll. Horse riding in Castlearchdale Forest Park is a must or why not cycle along the specially designed family trail?

At Lough Navar, some 15 miles away, you can walk or cycle along the various trails or just enjoy the scenic drive that leads to a magnificent viewpoint over Lower Lough Erne. For the more adventurous why not visit the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark? It encompasses 18,000 hectares of rugged mountainous uplands and gentle rolling lowlands and of course the stunning underground caves.

The Fermanagh Lakelands offer a haven for game or coarse anglers with its abundance of loughs and rivers. Choose from fishing for sonaghan or gillaroo trout, bream, roach or pike. Permits are usually required and can be purchased in nearby Belleek.

The nearby villages of Belleek and Kesh both have a hotel, cafes, take-aways etc, post office, mini supermarkets and Banks with ATM facilities.

There is a great range of restaurants and bars from Enniskillen to Donegal whether you're after fine dining, a lively bistro, a pint of Guinness in a traditional pub or a relaxing evening at the theatre on the banks of Lough Erne. Enjoy home baking in the only original thatched building in Belleek or take the short drive to Donegal town where you will be spoilt for choice with the numerous restaurants set around the town square. A few miles out of Donegal town experience fine dining in the upmarket hotels overlooking Lough Eske and surrounded by the stunning Blue Stack mountains. Enjoy local cooking at the many hotels and restaurants at Mullaghmore or Rosses Point in Co Sligo. Your only problem will be fitting everything into your visit.
