About Juliette Bridge

I was born and bred in Boscastle, I have lived here most of my life except for various elongated travel trips throughout the world. But for me Cornwall beats anywhere else! It's beaches and sunsets win over any I have seen across the globe. I especially enjoy swimming in the sea, cycling and walking along the cliffs. I love taking picnics on the cliffs and generally absorbing myself in the area. There is so much to do in Cornwall, there are live bands at the Eden project, sea kayaking at Port Isaac, open-air theatre at the Minack and an ever increasing number of quality places to eat at. As a foodie I am always in search for consistently good places to dine as well as sources of meat, fish and vegetables, oh and of course drink!

Juliette Bridge purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Juliette Bridge chose North Cornwall

It's actually behind the house my Gran lived in when I was young. I used to make pasties on a Friday and camp on the lawn in a tent during summer and listen to the rooks nesting in the trees on balmy nights. This was once a vegetable plot. So I was pleased as punch at the opportunity to take this property on and 'keep it local' -as they say! I am quite an active person and enjoy the benefits of the countryside, moorland and seaside, I love cycling too. There are so many fantastic spots in North Cornwall, stunning vistas and a great local atmosphere to boot.

What makes this cabin unique

There is so much to see, do, taste and try that I can't list them all here. But I have compiled an information guide which can be found in the cabin and to help you decide what to do first! Whatever your tastes there will be something. From train rides, to kid's play worlds/farms, wild food foraging to kayaking trips, outdoor concerts to sailing, ice-skating to trout fishing, horse riding to hiring a classic car or a day trip to the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall has a lot to offer you!

Guestbook comments from the owner

"A lovely place to stay, very peaceful and beautiful. Loved the scenery and weather! Will definitely come again. We were made to feel very welcome. Thank you very much." Pete, Trace and Sophie -West Midlands.

"Hideaway is a lovely retreat and just the peaceful haven we were looking for. The cream tea on arrival was a nice touch and very welcome as we arrived late evening. The apartment is well located to explore all the wonderful beaches and villages Cornwall has to offer. We managed to fill our week! Chris is just disappointed he couldn't fit in more trips to the Napoleon Inn. We'd recommend the Camel Trial. Hope to return some day." The Walters Family-Stourbridge.

"Delightful cabin, magnificent views of the sea below. Would definately come again and recommend to others" Marion & Gill Stanley

Back to Hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

Back to Hideaway for our third visit in the last year, and unsurprisingly everything was absolutely lovely. The cabin was replete with the regular essentials, as well as a vase of lovely garden flowers which lasted for the duration of our visit. Hideaway is a perfect base for both exploring the rugged North Cornwall coastline, or for visiting the many attractions further afield such as the Eden Project or the arts centres of St Ives. The cabin overlooks the town of Boscastle and is extremely quiet, the only neighbours you will see will be the two long-haired sheep in the adjacent field. The kitchen is very well equipped for self catering accommodation, but if you want a night off, a friendly independently owned pub is a short stagger down the hill! It has certainly turned into a little bolt-holt for us over the last year, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Lovely location with great view and calm surroundings

  • 4 of 5

The accommodation was well equipped with two good sized bedrooms. Lovely out door space. Juliette was very welcoming even organising a high chair for us at the last minute which was great. Generally very clean a part from a couple of details ( some crockery, windows and dust under beds). Very enjoyable stay nevertheless. Easy access to some great walks and beaches.

Secluded Cabin and a peaceful stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our half term stay at The Hideaway. It sits in its own garden and is overlooked by nobody with views to The Atlantic and cliff tops in the distance. The Hideaway was warm with an efficient heating system and fully equipped kitchen.

We will happily revisit, and recommend The Hideaway to anyone who wants a good base to explore Cornwall. The owners description of the property is very accurate. Great value too
