This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa, one of only 4 exclusive villas overlooking Zambrone beach, is air-conditioned, has panoramic sea views and is within 2 minutes drive of Zambrone beach. The private garden is fully enclosed and has private gated parking space. Large terraces for outdoor dining provide spectacular sunset views over the volcanic island of Stromboli. The villa is stylish and modern, with fully-fitted kitchen, en-suite shower room and separate bathroom. The living room has a wood burning stove. Only 10 minutes drive from Tropea with cobbled streets and cafe culture. The villa and garden are family friendly.
We had a great time in the villa - very comfortable, with fantastic views every day (and every evening with the sunsets!) We'd certainly recommend it to friends. We made it to Tropea, Pizzo, Vibo Valentia, Stromboli, the Aspromonte (Montalto as the 'high' point), Reggio Calabria and the beach at Zambrone, almost every day. Our favourite spot in Calabria, however, was the terrace at Villa Jasmine, on which we spent many hours just chilling.

Having just arrived back from our trip, I can only reiterate the other glowing reviews. We were so lucky with very hot weather which meant swimming on deserted beaches every day. The villa is immaculate with all the home comforts you would need, little touches like dvds. The villas front terrace is quite breathtaking with smouldering Stromboli straight ahead. The drive from the airport is very easy and we had splendid agents and instructions from Pizzo. Tropea and Pizzo provide such lovely days out, wandering around the beautiful old towns. Overall it won my heart and walking through a wild flower meadow to the little cove below the station was a real highlight. Thanks for having us.
The Viila Jasmine was perfect for two couples. It was peaceful with a spectacular view with fabulous sunsets. We loved the terrace and the outdoor eating and relaxing facilities.
We enjoyed some wonderful local walks from the house as well as exploring the surrounding lovely countryside including a drive over the mountains to the east coast. Tropea is a great experience and we enjoyed wandering around all the little streets and in May didn't find it too touristy.
The people of the area we found warm, friendly and helpful.
All in all a great villa and place to visit.
Lovely property with fantastic views out to Stromboli. I must admit that at first I thought the pictures had been edited because we couldn't see the volcano the first few days we were there, even though the sky was was clear, must have been a trick of the light, either that or it magically appears and disappears .....!
The property was exactly as described, the pictures give an accurate impression and it was clean and well maintained. The agent (Tom) was really helpful. We never actually met him but he was in regular contact and we felt properly looked after. The directions to the property were great, especially as we arrived in the dark. It would have been impossible to find otherwise.
We loved just sitting on the veranda watching the sun set, drinking the local chilled red wine (only 1 euro 50 a litre but it was lovely!) and had a barbecue most nights, so we didn't try many restaurants. we bought fish at the local pescaria which was beautiful and the little supermarket has most things you could need. Get there early on for fresh bread.
Our favourite place after a day on the beach was the gelataria by the station, between us we tried every flavour and can recommend them all.
Tropea is a lovely little town and we went there several time, there is a great little restaurant at the side of the road between Zambrone and Tropea and we had a very nice meal there.
Book this property, you won't be disappointed!
We have stayed in this villa 4 times over the last 5 years and will certainly be visiting again. The villa is well maintained inside and out and set in a lovely garden with a selection of fruit trees. The view from the terrace is spectacular, especially at sunset. The villa has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, the sun loungers are luxurious and the beach equipment supplied is the perfect touch to make a day at the nearby zambrone beach comfortable and enjoyable.
There are a number of good restaurants in zambrone marina which is only a short drive or 20 minute walk from the villa. The train station which provides a frequent local service to tropea, pizzo etc is within easy walking distance and very good value for money.
We enjoyed many quiet nights at the villa BBQing or using the excellent kitchen facilities to cook dinner. We visited in late may last year and used the beautiful wood burning stove in the evenings when it got a bit chilly.
Thanks for a brilliant holiday and we can't wait to return next year.
Coast/Beach:
Zambrone beach is only two minutes away by car. Here you will find plenty of parking. Boats, pedalos and jet skis are available for hire in the summer season and there are a number of bars and restaurants. Also near by is our favourite small secluded cove with golden sand, Capo Cozza, which can only be reached by foot. There are numerous other beaches in the area. Tropea has a fully serviced Marina where you can hire both sailing and day sports boats.
Travel:
Zambrone is 35km from Lamezia airport, with direct flights from many international destinations including London Stansted . There are flights from Rome, Milan and Pisa, providing international links with other airports.
The rail links within Italy are both cheap and reliable, enabling travel to and from Naples, Rome and beyond. Zambrone train station is within 15-20 minutes walk from the villa where you can take the train South to Reggio di Calabria and onwards to Sicily or North to Rome.
Distances:
Zambrone town is 3 minute drive.
The ancient town of Tropea is a 10 minute drive, the prettiest town on Calabria’s Tyrrhenian coast.
Travelling north on the coast you pass through Briatico and on to Pizzo, in about 20 minutes, and Lamezia about 45 mins.
Travelling south along the coast pass Capo Vaticano and onwards to Scilla, Reggio di Calabria and then the ferry to Sicily in just over 2 hours.
From Lamezia you can reach Sila National Park with its winter ski resorts.
Further Details:
Zambrone town has a variety of shops.
There is a supermarket, Tabac and restaurants about 1 km from the villa. Nearby there are towns and villages all with their own range and variety of shops. Tropea is an ancient town which now has a modern tourist and fishing harbour and modern marina. It also has one of the prettiest and best-preserved historic centres in the region.
Considered the real capital of the Capo Vaticano area, Tropea offers the eleventh-century Norman cathedral, the churches of St. Francis of Assisi and Santa Maria della Neve, as well as the church of Santa Maria dell'Isola, that stands at the foot of the town, on a small promontory of land projecting into the sea.
