Villa in Benissa, Moraira Area, Costa Blanca, Spain - Superb Accommodation of a High Standard

Casa Caribe is a traditional Spanish style villa, behind lockable wrought iron gates leading onto a paved driveway, it is surrounded by attractive gravelled flowerbeds with established shrubs and terraces. The pathway leads to double front doors that open into the lounge diner and open plan kitchen. From here a hallway leads off to the four bedrooms, two of which have a wonderful view across the gardens to the pool and golf course. All the bedrooms include central heating, air-conditioning, mosquito nets and shutters.

About the Owner

We are Alan and Anne Cousins and we live in Cheltenham in England, we have been self employed retailers for 33 years and have decided we now need a "bolt hole" to get away from the stresses and strains of retail!

We first came to Moraira in 2002 and loved it, we came sporadically over the next few years until 2007 when we suddenly were visiting four times a year and realised how quick and simple it was to get here. It was two more years before we found "Caribe" but we are absolutely delighted with it, and we hope you are too.

Easy access from the UK, with flights to Alicante or Valencia from most UK airports. We love Moraira because we believe it is unique in coastal Spain. It is never over crowded, there are no high rise hotels, it is mainly villa culture with young families and slightly more mature visitors! and it is an altogether delightful and safe place to be.

The nearest sandy beach would be in Moraira itself, about a 5 minute drive. There's also a further beach, with two beach bars and a restaurant, at El Portet, five minutes on from Moraira, both are shallow sandy beaches and quite suitable for children. A short walk down the hill from the villa is Baladrar beach, this is pebbly, but the water is very clear and inviting. There is a restaurant serving drinks and snacks and this is a great place to sit with a bottle of wine and watch the sunset.


Alicante would be the nearest airport, about ninety kilometres, and is quite a simple drive. On leaving the airport you would follow the signs for Valencia on the E15 AP 7 motorway, stay on this motorway until junction 63, Benissa-Teulada, take this exit, go through the toll booth and when the road splits three ways, take the centre one to Teulada, and follow the signs through Teulada to Moraira, about 15 minutes. Flights from the UK are also available to Valencia.


One of the most distinctive features of Moraira has to be the Rock of Ifach, this is a large rock which goes back to Phoenician times but has today been turned into a nature park which has over 300 species of birds and animals. There is is track to the peak which is 332m high and not for the fainthearted! Although the view is worth it! The towns of Javea, Denia and Calpe are all within 30 minutes drive, and the Jalon valley would be a must for those who enjoy walking.

Further Details:

Moraira town although only small, known as the Jewel of the Costa Blanca, has everything anyone could need. There are 3 large supermarkets, with their own bakeries and fresh fish and meat counters on the outskirts of the town, or if you prefer there are good bakeries and a daily fish market in the centre by the marina. Good restaurants abound in Moraira, and the square is a lively place in the evenings with outside dining and music from strolling singers or musicians at weekends. The Moraira Yacht Club has a superb restaurant over looking the marina and open to everyone, definitely worth a try.

Friday morning the market comes to town, and parking spaces become very scarce, so don't be late! They sell everything from carpets to clothing, to jewellery, watches and toys and a huge variety of fresh food, fruit,veg, cheese, dried nuts and herbs and spices, something for everyone.

Changeover day can be any day of the week and we ask that the villa be vacated by 10am. Arrival time is 4pm.

11th May - 18th May was £900 now only £800 per week!

25% deposit on booking, and the balance along with a separate cheque for £250 security deposit six weeks before departure.
The security cheque will held but not cashed, as long as there are no problems it will be sent back on your return.
When the balance is received we will send you all the particulars of the villa along with lots of info. about the area.

The property is extremely peaceful, being at the end of a quiet road we have very little passing traffic, all we hear is the occasional frustrated groan from the golf course!

  • Notes on accommodation: the living accommodation is all on one level, there are two steps down to the top terrace, for the barbecue, eating area and pergola and six more to the pool terrace. For the safety of small children we have a lockable gate at the top of the steps to the pool. Outside: The 10x5m swimming pool has both roman steps and a metal ladder and is surrounded by terraces and shrubbery. There is a stone table with 3 benches and a parasol on the gravelled area by the pool and eight sunbeds with mattresses, two chairs and several small tables. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property will be cleaned at the start of the holiday and fully equipped with bathroom towels and bedlinen. clean linen and towels will be provided for second week if booked. Beach towels can be supplied at a charge of 5 euros per guest.
