Apartment in Porto de Mos, Lagos, Western Algarve, Portugal - 3 mins to the Beach

This modern apartment forms part of a wonderfully landscaped and irrigated block consisting of just 12 apartments which enjoy a secluded communal and children's pool with ample parking space. The property is ideal for families with children being very secure with walled gardens and gates.

The rooms are all fully air-conditioned throughout and include a living/dining room, hallway, Master bedroom and en-suite bathroom with dual wash basins, Jacuzzi bath, WC and bidet plus a guest bedroom and separate bathroom with hydro massage shower. The bedroom facilities have an added advantage being flexible enough to offer either single or double beds in both bedrooms which is ideal for up to 4 people who want the flexibility to choose single or double beds living arrangements.

The modern fitted kitchen comes with oven, dishwasher/dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave.

The apartment also has 2 private balconies with a comfortable table and chairs overlooking the secluded pool with sun-loungers on hand for relaxation.

Throughout, the apartment has been furnished to a very high standard with quality furnishings sourced locally and from the UK which we hope will provide our guests with a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

We went to a different beach everyday and although Antonio's on the beach was only 2 minutes walk, the apartment helped on lazy days. The atmosphere in the Old town was also great for us all. Great apartment, excellent location.

Brilliant, spacious apartment in an excellent location.

The apartment is immaculate with a great kitchen and two superb bathrooms, we couldn't have wished for anything better. Lovely pool and surrounds and very secure parking.

The beach is 5 minutes walk away with two great restaurants if you don't want to drive in the evening.

The busy town of Lagos is 5 minutes drive with good supermarkets, lots more restaurants and quaint shops within the old town walls.

Dina, who will greet you at the apartment is really friendly and helpful and there to help.

Thank you Keith & Julie, we'll certainly be back!

We recommend this apartment

We stayed here for 10 days in September 2016. We recommend this apartment which is a beautiful private property with very large rooms and an excellent swimming pool in an area away from the hubbub of most Algarve towns. The kitchen and its appliances are outstanding. The main balcony with its dining area overlooking the swimming pool is perfect for meals or an evening drink. The apartment is only a short distance from the wonderful sandy beach of Porto de Mos with its clear and clean waters. It is also not far by car from the supermarkets and the centre of Lagos. Our day trips to the area were trouble-free as access to the main roads is very easy. Thanks to Keith and Julie for their information and advice on things to do and places to go. We had a great holiday and think that others will do too.

Fab stay in Porto de Mos

We stayed in Keith and Julie's apartment in July 16. We had a fantastic stay. Keith's very comprehensive email pre departure was very impressive detailing everything you would need to know about Porto de Mos/Lagos. The apartment was very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It has amazing showers. It is literally a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach and two restaurants, Campimar and Antonios. Many a night was spent in Antonios enjoying great fish and some Portuguese vino. The boys enjoyed the pool. Slightly bigger and deeper than others they had been in. Overall Keith and Julie's apartment provided us with everything we needed and would definitely recommend it.

As veterans of six yearly visits so far, we have tried the various hotels and apartments in the area. From the first contact with Keith and Julie, we felt confident and happy with the contact and response. We were met with a smile and a very helpful attitude from Dina and we quickly settled in to this spacious and wonderfully placed property. The air conditioning ran well as did the internet connection which kept our 12 year old son delighted. Showers were a real pleasure complimented by ample sweet fresh smelling towels. The pool area is a delight and was never crowded. The beach and restaurants are a mere 5 minute walk if you wish to stay in the immediate area and if you are a little more adventurous, Lagos is about half an hour's walk. Halfway to Lagos you can stop for coffee/beer/meals in the village and stock up at one of the supermarkets. All in all we will be back!

Awesome Apartment and Great Location

The photos don't do the apartment justice, it is larger than it appears. The area is quiet, spacious and immaculately clean. The pool is nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The welcome on arrival by Dina and booking with the owners has been a pleasure. I am pleased we hired a car as the supermarket was quite a distance. The town centre and beaches in the area are wonderful with lots to do if you are looking for more exciting activities, but also quiet locations if you want to relax. I thoroughly recommend the area and the apartment. Thank you for a great stay

Total luxury

Five star luxury. Thank you to Keith and Julie for finding this gem. Luxurious, extremely spacious apartment. Tranquil yet walking distance to beach and five minutes drive to various supermarkets, Lagos and other beaches close by. Would definitely recommend booking a holiday here. The balcony overlooking the pool was huge. We will be back!

We already owned a villa nearby and valued the easy way of life and unspoiled natural beauty that the locals enjoy and decided to invest in this apartment for the future and to enable our family, friends and guests to witness and appreciate what we believe is a unique location. Although its a relatively small resort with a 1.5 km beach, the season is usually frequented by locals with a mixture of other Europeans mainly from the UK, Germany, Benelux and Scandinavian countries. It never seems to be crowded like some major resorts and we just hope we can keep this place a secret for as long as possible although word is getting out that this is the new jewel in the crown on the Western Algarve!! Unique benefits of the property include the location and flexible sleeping accommodation which allows so much flexibility for guests and with the aid of cheap air travel, Faro has become one of the most popular airports that is serviced with direct flights from most European countries. The landscaped apartment is built to a very high standard and can be reached in under an hour from the airport and then just 3 minutes to the beach! For golfers, this is also an ideal place at any time of year especially during winter when the weather can be exceptional compared to bleaker Northern Hemisphere. I'm a golfer myself and can provide information if so required.

Special interest holidays:

Built and furnished to a high standard the apartment is in an ideal location for everyone with a wide mixture of interests ranging from water sports, golfing, cycling, walking or just lounging around. The coastal town of Lagos is nearby and is rich in history, culture and architecture having been ruled by the Romans, Moors and Spanish throughout more than 2,000 years of history and this can be seen when explored throughout the surrounding areas. It was the home of the explorer Henry the Navigator, and even the site of several naval raids in the late Middle Ages.

A visit to The Monchique mountains which rises on the west to 2963 ft is well worth a visit. There are hot sulphur springs, with baths and a sanatorium 4m. south in 'Caldas de Monchique' (Spring of Monchique). Wheat, millet, rye, beans, oranges, wine, olive oil and chestnuts are the chief products. There is a wool factory and Medronho, a local brew made from distilled Medronho berries (Arbutus/Strawberry Tree), is produced.


The beach is abt 3 mins walk from the development or abt 500m in distance.

Conte Nast Traveller magazine in 2013 voted nearby Dona Ana beach as the best in the world.

The Algarve beach fought off competition from 49 other beaches worldwide to take the top position, ahead of Song Saa Island in Cambodia and South Male Atoll beach in the Maldives. In 2016 the same group voted Praia da Marinha the 7th best beach in Europe. Both beaches are nearby.

Lagos Marina is close and offers excellent facilities both for sailing and excursions around the coast plus many dining facilities to frequent.


The nearest International airport is Faro which is about 80km or under an hour drive by car. The nearest rail/bus station is Lagos which is about 10 minute drive away although a local bus service is provided nearby and services most local destinations including Lagos. Porto de Mos is easily accessible on the N125 and A22 motorway. Car hire is available from Faro airport or Lagos town centre. We can recommend companies that we use personally if required.

The property is situated within a remotely controlled gated community that has well landscaped and irrigated gardens leading to a secluded communal and children's swimming pool. The apartment is comfortable for a family of 4 with modern furnishings and is conveniently located within a short 3 minute walk to the beach and restaurants or a short drive to the towns of Lagos or Praia da Luz. There is a large surface area for parking as well as an underground area for parking available. The coastal city of Lagos nearby has a rich maritime history that dates back more than 2,000 years. It was the home of the explorer Henry the Navigator and even the site of several naval raids in the late Middle Ages. The Romans were the first to occupy the region what is today Lagos.

The owner is a golfer and is more than happy to assist with any advice. Note you can now hire clubs at Faro airport on a weekly basis which saves time and money. We can provide further details. Outside: The apartment has 2 private balconies one of which overlooks the outdoor secluded pool, Jacuzzi and gardens which is shared by just 12 apartments. Both balconies have access from both bedrooms, lounge and kitchen. A comfortable 4 seat patio table and chairs also feature overlooking the pool area. The gardens are landscaped and irrigated with beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs. Relax on the 4 sunbeds which will be provided for exclusive use when lounging around the pool area. Its just a short walk to the sandy beach or local restaurant offering local and European food. Utility Room: Vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, dust pan and brush, mop and bucket and cloths horse provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bathroom towels and bed linen will be provided and changed on a weekly basis. For additional services, the maid will be willing to assist guests. Any additional requirements such as baby sitting etc. can also be discussed. Other: Spacious hallway leading into living room, bedrooms and kitchen.
