About the Owner

Rowditch was the family home where our children grew up in a wonderful, natural setting which offers so many freedoms that many children today are denied. We all still love spending time here, walking the footpaths and bridleways and watching the wildlife and the seasons as they change. We still work the vegetable bed - it would be a waste not to - and very much enjoy harvesting the fruits of our labour, knowing our produce is totally organic and taking it straight from garden to kitchen. And of course we are delighted to share it. Here you can relax to the tune of the blackcap and the woodpecker's drumming and learn or re-familiarise yourself with the flora and fauna of South West England.

"We had a wonderful few days sharing a holiday experience with our children and grandchildren. We were very comfortable and happy in your lovely home. Couldn't have chosen a more ideal place.

  • 5 of 5

Rowditch was a fantastic place to stay in Somerset, and perfect for the our three generations. The house is huge and we could all fit in comfort in one of the rooms, or spread out into the many adjacent rooms. The gardens are massive, but organised so that we could keep an eye on the two year old from the large patio. Rowditch is located 5 minutes away from some fantastic beaches, and close to larger towns which made this a perfect holiday base. The bedrooms were perfect size for the group of four adults, a toddler and two teenagers and for once the kids did not complain regarding their allocated rooms (though there were some fights on who was to stay in the annex - my wife and I won that one). The kitchen was large and well equipped, and the three toilets and two bathrooms made life easy. The owners were fantastic before and during the holiday to ensure our stay was problem-free. I would recommend this place to anyone (even if it means it will be difficult for us to book again due to it's popularity).

Wonderful house with fantastic gardens

  • 5 of 5

This was our third two week stay over the summer and once again, Rowditch didn't disappoint. The owners are lovely and always leave great information for their guests.

Rowditch is comfortable and really well equipped. The gardens are a delight and the size of the grounds keeps our dog well and truly entertained.

There is, in the surrounding area, as much or as little as you want from a summer break, with Minehead and its quintessential beach and arcade front through to Exmoor and its ponies - not to mention fossil-hunting on Kilve beach!

We would highly recommend Rowditch and, needless-to-say, this will not be our final visit to this lovely house!

Fantastic time had by all

  • 5 of 5

What a truly delightful place Rowditch is. House and garden are so lovely you could spend all of your stay 'at home'. But don't do that or you will miss great walks, great pubs and lots of great people. If you are looking for a peaceful family holiday, with lots to do (if you want to) in a beautiful location you must try this lovely house. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

Rowditch is a truly delightful place to stay. It is a lovely, comfortable thatched cottage set in a beautiful garden, a real home surrounded by wonderful countryside and within walking distance of the sea. We are a family of four adults and we had a fantastic week (June-July 2015), helped both by good weather and by the excellent information provided by the owners. If you fancy a thoroughly relaxing break in an English country cottage, with plenty to do and see within easy reach, including the option of some splendid walks, then this is the place for you. And if you time it right, you can enjoy some of the fresh garden produce – we sampled the salad leaves and courgettes, both delicious. Unreservedly recommended.

A wonderful stay at Rowditch

  • 5 of 5

Rowditch is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful and idyllic setting. The house is well equipped and was very clean and welcoming when we arrvied. The owners had given us a wealth of information about the local area both before we arrived and also on arrival which was invaluable and very much appreciated. There are some beautiful walks straight from the house, as well as amazing views and good local amenities. For a family with a realtively young family (we have a 9 and 6 year old) and a dog, this was a perfect location for a week over Easter, we were even blessed with good weather! The house slept 4 of us very comfortably and the kitchen was particulalry well equipped, it was refreshing to go to a rental property that was more like a family home than a sparsely furnished and equipped investment property. All in all we would throughly recommend Rowditch.
