About Derek Thompson

We are a family of five plus our black Labrador and live in Buckinghamshire overlooking the Chilterns Hills. When we were looking for our villa in Portugal, we wanted a view to compare. 'Summer Wind' has an elevated position overlooking the famous 'Black Rock' headland and Luz Bay and offers us a wonderful alternative! We are ten minutes coastal walk from the village of Luz with many amenities, including tennis and water sports, and wonderful restaurants to suit all pockets; and for the more adventurous, the quaint fishing village of Burgau is an hours walk west along the coast.

We have holidayed in the Algarve for the last 20 years whilst bringing up our family and wanted to have a place that we could call our 'second home'. We love the area because there is something to suit all interests and ages. The Portuguese people are very welcoming and friendly and there is a real sense of community in Luz.

Any period that is not booked within 6 weeks of the start date will attract a very substantial discount.

Also any long term rental in off peak season will receive a substantial discount.

Utility Room: Siemans Washing machine and Tumble Drier Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Full clean and linen and towel change on Saturday. Extra maid service available at extra cost. Other: There are electric security gates and a private drive offering ample parking. Private pool 10mtr X 5mtr can be heated at extra cost.

Excellent service from start to finish. Property and location outstanding . The owner was very helpful and friendly throughout . The house manager was only a phonecall away and helped us throughout our stay . Would defiantly recommend this villa for a memorable holiday . Hoping to return next year .

Two sizeable supermarkets and two 'corner shop' type within walking distance in Luz which includes many banks and restaurants.
