Cottage in Carrapateira, Western Algarve - Tranquil Beach House in the Sand Dunes
Please experience the peace and quiet of our romantic hideaway. Nothing is required of you but to relax and feel the breeze and ease of this beautiful coastline. We have tried to make this luxury made cottage into something special and we think it is. Simple, efficient, and effective! Your batteries will be recharged. It's like falling off the face of the Earth. Carrapateira is a lost commune, well not quite lost - just not found! and needs to be experienced in the coffee meeting square of their village.

About the Owner
We are an English couple that came to the Algarve and fell in love with the area and it's people. We live in Alvor but could not deny the romance and wildness of the Western Algarve and in particular our cottage. We just had to buy it! We have rented rarely but needs must and so we have to share our romantic pretty cottage. We just trust you will also appreciate its charm. You will not be disappointed, we assure you.

Lovely hideaway for our anniversary. Peaceful and beautiful. Really enjoyed ourselves and came home feeling refreshed.
We loved it here. We've stayed in Portugal quite a few times but this time it was just us, no kids!!! And this was the perfect place for us. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing, out of the way but near the beach. Perfect. Feel refreshed and happy :-)
Special Beach house
We had a relaxing break in this simple stripped back cottage, virtually in the sand dunes but with great bar restaurant nearby
It was wonderful to be able to walk to the almost deserted fabulous beach
Travelling as a couple we spent time here just relaxing. We took some surf and yoga classes as well as walking down the coast. Great location as the cottage is moments from the sea. Left feeling ready for the next half of the year!
Beautiful & Blissful
Had a great stay in this cute villa, it's situated directly behind Bordiera beach which is a bit more relaxed than Amado round the headland but with surf just as good (make sure you walk the length of the beach to see the stunning views through a surf sculpted arch into the next section of beach). Accommodation itself is fab everything you'll need for a relaxing stay and I'd recommend the restaurant on the left on the way back into town called L'Cholesterol great local food and the Sangria is good too ;) If you fancy a drive to a good restaurant (8-10miles) go to Arrifana beach and restaurante praia arrifana great sea food and awesome view. Anyway deffo be back at some point, and highly recommend, cheers
Amazing cottage - cant wait to go back
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break in portugal.
We stayed for 7 days and I really didnt want to leave. The cottage is lovely and homely, decorated in a modern style and lovely and clean.
There is an outside area where you can sit and watch the stars, have a few beers and enjoy a BBQ (there is one provided).
The beach is only 5 mins walk away and the surfing was fantastic. There are a few different restaurants close by which are all great, carrapateira is only a 10 minute walk away where you can find a few cafes, restaurants and a small shop for food and drinks.
We hired a car and drove around the algarve taking in the sights, I would say you definitely need a car if you're staying here.
I would give this cottage a 10/10 and will definitely be returning.
From the Owner
“Golly, why did we? Well, my husband went out one day with his friend and came across a builder when having coffee next door. My husband was so impressed (being in the building business) he just had to buy the last one available. We have never regretted it. How could you? Knowing it was being built so beautifully amongst the most spectacular countryside; protected and yet wild and free. Just go and experience it.”
