About the property

The three cottages at Arbre de Cerise overlook a grassed courtyard and barn with bicycles, table tennis, football table and darts. Beyond the courtyard is the fenced, heated 10 x 5m swimming pool which is furnished with plenty of sun loungers and shaded tables. The gites are all very well equipped with large LCD TV's with satellite channels, DVD players, ipod/iphone docking speakers and free WI-FI. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, large fridge-freezer and all the small appliances you would expect as well as plenty of crockery, cutlery and assorted kitchen utensils.

Arbre de Cerise is part of the small hamlet of Grange near Linazay and is surrounded by rolling countryside. We are situated of the edge of the Vienne; the climate in this beautiful region of south west France ensures reasonably mild winters and warm summer days. Delightful local villages with boulangeries, bars and restaurants, (which we can highly recommend), along with several historic market towns provide an extensive range of facilities and amenities all within 10 minutes drive.

About Claire Card

We immediately fell in love with Arbre de Cerise when we first visited and knew it was exactly what we were looking for - rural location, surrounded by sunflower and poppy fields but close enough to plenty of local market towns for the essentials and non-essentials. It also had the scope to develop it into three beautifully furnished and well equipped gites with room to put a large pool in the garden.

Claire Card purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Claire Card chose Linazay

Having stayed in many gites with our families over the last 10 + years (some were dreadful - filthy, badly equipped, old furniture), we knew that we wanted to provide the guests to our gites with something better.

From being spotlessly clean, to matching crockery and cutlery, nice bedding and towels, well-equipped kitchens (home-from-home standards) yet still with plenty of French character and charm, to make a holiday relaxing and enjoyable.

What makes this cottage unique

Sparkling, heated pool, with plenty of sun loungers

+Free Wi-Fi. Ipod/MP3 sound systems. Games barn with table tennis. table football and adults and children's bicycles. Large flat screen TV's with FreeSat satellite TV channels. Dishwashers and washing machines

Wonderful quiet cottages within beautiful countryside

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in smallest cottage and made good use of pool, bicycles and games provided. Owners have thought of everything, really nice extra touches to give perfect holiday for those who love wildlife, walking and lovely countryside. Only issue we had was obnoxious smell when all doors and windows of cottage were closed. Would definitely revisit but would hire the one of larger properties.

Sweet little cottage

  • 3 of 5

The property was lovely, matching the description well and directions were great so we found the place with ease. Everything was well presented and kitchen amenities were great; kitchen roll, washing up liquid and cleaning cloths. Customer service was great but sadly visiting out of season (February) was not ideal and most activities and restaurants in the locale were closed. I'm sure in summer the place would be idyllic.

A well presented and attractive Gite with the bonus a lovely pool

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming Gite and whilst the middle of three attached Gites, it was still private and quiet. Well appointed and equipped with all the usual appliances and kitchen utensils required for cooking. Wifi was excellent once we found the correct code to use! The lovely pool was large enough to share if you needed too, and a great place to soak up the sun. Easy access to the main roads and very close to the N10 motorway making visiting the major towns a breeze. We did not have time to use the many bikes of varying sizes, but would be an ideal location to cycle around. And the resident cat was very welcoming too. Highly recommended! A wonderful gite in a peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

The whole site is beautiful, the converted barn buildings, bright flowers and old well are stunning. We stayed in the middle gite, we were a little concerned it might be noisy, but the stone walls meant that it was very quiet. The gite was lovely and clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Both bedrooms are a good size, with ample storage and fans (although the rooms were quite cool despite the heat).

The garden is enclosed so our children could safely play outside and the barn has lots of games and table tennis, table football and a dart board to keep all age groups occupied. There is a good sized and well maintained pool which was hugely popular.

The gite owners happened to be on holiday at the same time, they were friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating.

We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend it to our family and friends, I am sure we will be back!

Highly recommended !!

  • 5 of 5

This is a really beautiful looking property situated in lovely courtyard garden in the heart of rural France. The property is well equipped and we all felt very much at home and it is very clear that the owner has made a real effort to give all of her guests a great holiday experience – We didn’t want to come home !! The swimming pool is excellent, clean and very warm (which was great for our 2 young girls as they could spend plenty of time in the pool). The addition of a games barn with table tennis, table football and a large array of bikes of all different sizes really helps to keep everyone entertained. We would certainly recommend this property for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in the heart of France – A great holiday, thank you.
