About the property

Large family house in Falmouth, Cornwall, England, UK - .Overlooking Beautiful Park, 5 Mins Walk Town Centre

This spacious Victorian family home overlooks the main park in Falmouth with it's exciting children's play area, pond and beautiful seasonal planting. The property is well proportioned with high ceilings in both ground floor reception rooms and open fires. Off-street parking at the front is invaluable in this busy town. Large kitchen/dining room opens onto a covered courtyard with table tennis table and up steps to a secluded and sunny back garden. Facilities located in the courtyard for rinsing off sandy wetsuits after a great day at the beach! Upstairs there are three large bedrooms, a bunk bedroom, shower room and large family bathroom. Relax at home in the evenings with a selection of TV, DVDs, books or games or enjoy all that Falmouth has to offer with live music, pubs, restaurants, multiplex cinema and events like Falmouth Week in mid August. Take the car and explore the local area, visit the Eden Project or board a boat across to St Mawes, Truro or Helford River.

About Fiona Osman

My husband grew up in Port Navas on the Helford River and it was always his dream to return to Cornwall and raise a family. We moved from London in 1999 with one small child and now have managed to fill our family home with four! I work for a local independent girls school in Truro and my husband wants to pursue his dream of running his own sailing school. Our four children are at local schools. We love Cornwall and spend our free time either on board our boat moored in the Helford River or, at our caravan based at Sennen, close to Land's End.

Fiona Osman purchased this house in 1999

Why Fiona Osman chose Falmouth

Falmouth is a fantastic coastal town to raise a family, holiday or just for a day trip! It has so much to offer all ages and we feel lucky to live here!

What makes this house unique

The close proximity of our house to the main park in Falmouth is a great benefit to those who enjoy a walk or want to entertain children (of any age) in the newly developed play area. Shops, restaurants and multi-plex cinema are just 5 minutes walk down the hill or it's a 15 minute walk to the beach. Our covered courtyard lets you play outside, even if the weather isn't everything you could wish for, and we have a sofa in the covered entrance to enjoy a quiet drink, far from the madding crowd. It's a big house, so everyone can enjoy a little peace and quiet if they choose to take time out!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Ideally situated for a family to holiday in Falmouth

  • 4 of 5

The house had all we needed for 6 adults and 2 children to spend a week's holiday. Well equipped and close to the town and local beaches. Beautiful park across the road with play area for the children. Bonus of undercover outside area with ample seating and table-tennis table.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house with all you need for a great relaxing holiday. We had teenagers, and with a short walk to both the beaches and the town, they had great freedom whilst we had a wonderful time trying out all the local cuisine! Fiona was really easy to deal with and communication was great. Would highly recommend.

Falmouth July 2016

  • 4 of 5

Great communication with owners prior to arrival and they were happy to negotiate arrival 1 day earlier to help us out. The house was perfect for nine of us ( four adults , 5 kids including teens ! ) with a great communal kitchen area for us all. The covered outside area was great for table tennis and washing bits out and the bar b que got some use too in the top garden. The beds were nicely made up and comfortable and spacious for us all. Kids had adequate space around their bunks too. Good selection of DVDs and CD was a nice homely touch which helped to make this feel like home for the week. No issues with any showers, baths, services or wifi in any way which was a great relief ! The kitchen range was great to cook on and everything was there that we needed. The house was ideally situated with a short walk into town and a park opposite for early dog walks. This is the first time we have used this site or booked any accommodation like this and if they are all to this standard then we would definitely use again without hesitation. Many thanks to the owners for their house and a great holiday !!

Lovely holiday

  • 4 of 5

This isn't an all singing all dancing modern home. However, that's why we loved it. This home has character, it's big and it never felt crowded. It is very well situated for the town, with it's many dog friendly restaurants and pubs. The owners are lovely people and were on hand and very close, should we have needed them. This home was perfect for our stay and the large kitchen was great for all the family to sit and chat. It gave us some great memories of a lovely holiday, enjoy.
