Villa in Dalyan, Aegean Region, Turkey
This villa is probably one of the most spectacular villas in Dalyan, but still only a 10 minute stroll into town. When entering the villa you walk straight into the open plan lounge and kitchen. The lounge is a lovely space which definitely has the wow factor! The lounge is dual aspect with views to the rear and side garden with floor to ceiling windows along two walls. There is also a feature circular alcove with stone cladding. The lounge features a TV and DVD. The large 3 seater sofa can also be used as a sofa bed.

We've had a wonderful two weeks in Dalyan and really enjoyed staying at Villa Rossi. The villa is really well laid out with good facilities and equipment. A couple of problems with the air-con were sorted out promptly by the agent. The villa could benefit from some welcome information with brief instructions for equipment (e.g. Pool lights, washing machine, television) and directions to town. A few do's and don'ts would be appreciated for first time visitors and particularly helpful for late night arrivals such as ourselves. We appreciate that the agent did call on day 1 as advised but we had already left to find our bearings.
We also had a visit from some inquisitive cats on our first day and regular visits thereafter but not enough to become a nuisance around the villa. There are quite a few cats and dogs around town but all we came across were friendly and kept to themselves.
The pool area is great, getting sunshine all day and the plants in the attractive garden provide privacy from the road. There's a balcony on the adjacent villa which overlooks the Rossi pool but the occupants rarely used it as their pool is on the other side of the building. Our terrace area and barbecue were well used with charcoal and fire-lighting gel readily available in the supermarkets and hardware stores, also in the butchers that sell a range of quality local produce.
The centre of Dalyan is a little further from the villa than expected (25 min) but once in the hub there's plenty of shops, bars and restaurants for families and couples. All our meals have been excellent with plenty of choice and good service.
The easiest way to town is to turn left out of the villa, follow the road / track until reaching a tee junction at a paved road then turn right. Follow that road past Sevikoglu supermarket and keep going until you reach the mosque, main square and riverside. To the left (downstream toward the sea) is the main commercial area. To the right (upstream toward the lake) are more cafes and restaurants. It is here you'll find a good size market every Saturday running from early morning until around 4pm.
Overall a great holiday and a place we are likely to return to sometime.
Brilliant villa, loved it.Booked through Sonuc at King Emlak who was very professional, courteous and helpful. Will return and certainly recommend. Graham and Lynn Cawthorn
What a great villa - clean, well equipped, comfortable. The owner was very helpful when making the booking. There is quite a walk into Dalyan to the restaurants, so be prepared with comfy shoes. A taxi ride only costs 10 Turkish Lira from the town to the villa. Very quiet location of the villa. The town is quite lively, but not rowdy with souvenir shops and bars. Plenty of good restaurants - our favourites were Panorama and White Lotus. We hired Ali's boat "The Sultan of Dalyan" for the day for £135 which included sailing to one of the offshore islands for a swim, then visited Turtle Beach for photo opportunities of turtles, crab fishing and a barbecue on the boat prepared by Ali and his son and then returned to Dalyan - a wonderful day! Would definitely recommend this villa and will be visiting Dalyan again in the future. Try to visit the Bazaar on Saturdays - well worth it and be prepared to barter!
This was one of the best holidays we've ever had. The villa is situated 15 minutes walk to the town centre, 10 minutes to nearest supermarket, 5 minutes by bikes, which were very handy. The villa was spacious, clean and tidy for our arrival. Beatifull marble floors throughout, granite worktops in kitchen and lovely spacious bathrooms with good powerfull showers. The garden was pretty with plenty of mature planting, a nice mixture of turkish and english plants. It was very private, hardly overlooked. The wooden kosk in the garden was lovely to relax in when the sun got too hot. The pool was a good size, lovely to swim, play and relax in. The garden and the pool was very well maintained, the pool cleaned every other day first thing in morning. We stayed 2 weeks, the first as a couple and the 2nd our teenage children joined us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dalyan is a lovely town, plenty of restaurants, very pretty and very friendly welcomming locals, most of which spoke very good english.
We would love to return to Villa Rossi, and would recommend the villa to couples and families with older children, or groups of friends.
The description was accurate and the owner responded well to all our emails and organised our transfers.
Restaurants - we didn't find a bad one. Our favourites were Kordons, China Town, Hidden Garden and Kardashs.
Cafes - Limon tree was lovely and Yummys was good.
Trips - we booked all our trips through Yesil Travel. Staff spoke very good english, very friendly and informative. We booked
Sakilent Gorge - amazing, need to be resonably fit.
Jeep Safari - Brilliant fun, got very wet and grubby.
Moonlit cruise - relaxing, lovely bar b q, quiet mud baths. Great value.
12 Islands sailing cruise - Don't do double decker boat, sailing cruise slightly more expensive but well worth it.Soooooooo relaxing.
Monday market cruise - ok but moonlit was ten times better.
Turkish spa - great experience, not recommended if you have sensitive skin.
12 Islands and Jeep Safari are not to be missed.
Activity and Interests
Dalyan is best known for its lush greenery, the winding river and a beach which is not just a natural wonder but also won The Times Best Open Space Award in 2010. Over 6km of golden sands with access by bus, car and boat there are cafeterias at either end for refreshments but plenty of empty space amongst the dunes to escape to.
The nearest airport is Dalaman which is a 20 minutes drive away. Once in Dalyan car hire is not essential we are very central to town and town itself is small and everything in easy walking distance.
Everything is within walking or cycling distance in Dalyan. This villa is only 8 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and cafes and the river. Fethiye and Olu Deniz are 50 minutes drive away. Marmaris is about 75 minutes drive. Both of those towns also have ferries to Rhodes.
Dalyan town itself is compact stretching only a mile in any direction from the centre and is framed by a glorious backdrop of pine clad mountains in every direction. The flatness of town make it a perfect place for walking with children and the elderly and a delight to cycle around. For more active holidaymakers there are forests and hiking hills all within walking distance. Dalyan is also distinguished by the lack of package tourists though there are still plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. If you can’t find the items you want in the shops there is a sweet local market on Saturdays.
