House in La Daviere, Le Boupere, Fontenay-le-Comte, Vendee, France - Situated In A Peaceful Rural Location But Within 5 Mins Walk Of The Local Supermarket

Le Puy de Forge is a newly refurbished large 5 bedroom detached property with spacious living areas and is set in 1.75 acres of grounds and located in a rural farming hamlet surrounded by fields, historic villages and chateaux. There are gardens to both sides of the house and a large section of the rear garden is fully fenced for child safety. It is a perfect place for a relaxing and interesting holiday. Free unlimited wireless broadband available.

The property has downstairs 1 bedroom, a toilet, shower room, kitchen, lounge, dining room and upstairs 4 further bedrooms and a bathroom complete with WC and slipper bath.

Outside it has a lockable detached double garage and ample off road parking. There are gardens to the front, sides and fully enclosed rear garden with a large picnic table and large gazebo.

After a long trip the last thing you want is to arrive late with nothing to eat or drink and the shops have all closed. That's why we leave a welcome pack for our guests. It is only a carton of orange juice, a bottle of milk, a bottle of wine, tub of butter, a baguette and a small sliced loaf but when you arrive it is very welcome.

There is a small supermarket a 5 minute walk from the house in the local village of Le Boupere. Le Boupere has shops, cafe bars and a very good restaurant. A riding school is 5 minute walk in the other direction on the road to Les Herbiers.

Les Herbiers and Pouzauges are large towns within 10 kms with large shopping centres, swimming pools with water slides, cinemas, theatres, cafes and lots of good restaurants. For the more sporty types there is fishing, go karting, canoing, kayaking, archery and sports centres within easy striking distance.

The house is a 15 minutes drive of the Puy de Fou & only 1 hours drive from the Atlantic coast. It is 1 hours drive from Nantes and La Rochelle airports & a 3 hours drive from St Malo.

About the Owner

We have always loved France, the French people and the French way of life. We have holidayed extensively in France and particularly liked the Vendee area. We stayed in some "interesting" holiday homes which were not what we expected or wanted. When we finally got the opportunity to do something about it we bought the holiday home we did want. It is a large house with a large garden set in a little hamlet just outside Le Boupere. It is a very tranquil place. We have had all sorts of guests, large families, small families, couples and groups of friends. They have all had 1 thing in common though, they all had agreat holiday and couln't believe how friendly the locals were.

Excellent house in quiet location

This was a perfect house for our family holiday. The location was quiet and easily accessible to many places. We had everything we could want and the children had a large garden to play and explore in. Would recommend staying here and we would like to come back again.

We holidayed extensively in France and particulary liked the Vendee. It is a beautiful part of the country and very peaceful, whilst being within 10km of some large towns (Les Herbiers & Pouzage). It is also within a 5 minute walk of Le Boupere which is a pretty little village with a fortified church. It is a 1 hour drive from the Atlantic coast and the Isle De Re is well worth a visit as is La Rochelle. It is also only a 10 minute drive from the fantastic Puy du Fou. We usually fly into Nantes and hire a car but it is only a 3 hour drive from St. Malo by car.

Coast/Beach:

The Vendée enjoys one of the sunniest climates in France. The sublime beaches of the Vendée are within easy reach (60 minutes), and are some of the best in Europe. Clean, with shallow, gently sloping seas, these are particularly suitable for families.

Surfing is big in the Vendée, especially in the south, the area around La Tranche and Longeville.

Travel:

Nantes airport 1 hour drive 82km. La Rochelle 1 hour drive 87km. St Malo Port 3 hours drive 250km. Caen Port 4 hours drive 360km. Calais 6 hours drive 615km.

Distances:

Le Boupere 2km small village. Les Herbier 10km large town. Pouzages 10km large town. Cholet 45km city.

France’s leading historical theme park the Puy du Fou historic theme park is only 15km drive away. Mervent Forest and Zoo 45km. Futuroscope 100km. Blue beards castle 30km. A £100 security deposit is required to cover damage, the deposit will be returned within 2 weeks of the end of the holiday subject to a satisfactory final inspection.
Final payment must be received 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. All costs for electricity, water and gas are included in the weekly price. Directions to the property will be issued following receipt of the final payment.

Changeover Day:
Changeovers are done on Saturdays and guests are asked to arrive no earlier than 1pm and to leave by 10am on departure day, although sometimes arrangements can be made for an earlier arrival/

It really is a home from home. There is satellite TV and DVD's in the comfortable lounge. The Dining Room has a solid oak typically French table and lots of chairs. The kitchen has a hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and a toaster. In the cellar there is a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Outside there is a double garage, a large outdoor table and chairs under a sun shade. There is a lawned area with flower beds to the front and adjacent to that there is a small orchard. We let one of the neighbours graze his horse in another area of the garden. 1 mile down the road is a riding school who give you discount if you tell them you are staying locally. It really is a home from home, it is our home and for your holiday it is your home.

Utility Room: The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the cellar. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Price includes provision of bedding. The property is cleaned on changeover, change of linen etc will be supplied for stays of one week or more.
