Holiday Home in Woolacombe, North Devon, England, UK - Central Location Only 2 Minutes Walk to the Beach

Our house is located in the very centre of the village and within 500 meters of our award winning beach. It is a level walk to both the local shops, bars and restaurants aswell as to the sea shore. Potters View has 3 bedrooms, one with en-suite, and can sleep 8 people. It is a maisonette with a large lounge and kitchen and also very spacious bedrooms with high ceilings.

We are a local family who have lived in the village for over 25 years. We have two children who both enjoy taking time out to play on the three miles of golden sand and playing in the sea. We enjoy the outdoor lifestyle, having BBQs during the summer months and surfing all year round, even when the water temperature drops!!

Fantastic!

We returned to 'Potters View' after a fantastic stay last year. We love Devon and Woolacombe in particular, so to find probably the best rental property we've hired at the best beach in the UK is a massive bonus. We (family of 7) couldn't find any thing negative to report, my 6 year old grand-daughter even asked if we 'could stay forever'.

Key points/tips:

1 - Spacious clean accomodation

2 - location can't be bettered

3 - free parking for 2 vehicles

4 - wi-fi, sky tv, games, dvd's if t h e weather lets you down.

5 - book a beach hut, £95/week at the time of writing, provides added convenience.

6 - carry out an internet food shop via Tesco, but book your slot early to get the most convenient time.

The perfect location for a beach holiday.

A property that was very clean and in the perfect location. Just around the corner from the delicious fudge shop, not to mention the fish and chip shop! Not too far to carry a kayak or surf wear to the beach. Was great to be able to take our two dogs too. Had a fabulous, family holiday and would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable

Very good location in the centre of Woolacombe and only minutes walk to the wonderful beach. The house is very well equipped and there are lots of DVDs for all the family. The owners always replied to my queries promptly. I would recommend Potters View.

A comfortable family holiday

Just returned from a lovely stay at Potters View which is close to the centre of Woolacombe village and only a few minutes from the wonderful beach. Potters View is a home form home with all one needs for a comfortable holiday. It is very clean and well equiped with plenty of space, including a good sized roof terrace with chairs and tables. Parking is on-street but no problem with the Visitor Parking permits provided by the owner and plenty of spaces nearby during our stay.

Location

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Woolacombe is surrounded by National Trust maintained headlands and green fields. It has three miles of award winning golden sands beach, with three other equally stunning beaches within 1 mile of our home. Perfect for jumping in the sea when you get too hot then a very short walk back to the house, a quick shower than back down the beach for a barbecue and watching the sun set over Lundy Island. Beautiful!

Coast/Beach:

The beach is arguably the best beach in Devon. It has won many awards and been in many books and magazines as one of the best in the world! From our home the beach is only 500mtrs away which only takes 2 minutes to walk to. There are some lovely coastal walks to to be had. To the South the Coast path takes you around to Croyde Bay and to the North the path takes you to the lighthouse and on to Ilfracombe.

Travel:

The nearest airport to us is Exeter Airport, which is 60 miles away. A car is useful if you wanted to see more of the area but if your planning to just spend your time down the beach and playing in the sea and rock pools then there's no need for a car at all.

Distances:

The closest village to Woolacombe is Mortehoe, a beautiful quaint little village, which is named in the doomsday book, at the top of the hill 2 miles away. The nearest main town is Barnstaple, 12 miles away. This has a cinema complex, swimming pools, museums and much more.

  • Notes on accommodation: We provide parking permits for two vehicles for the week, for the road outside the house. We have two small children who absolutely love living in Woolacombe being able to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle as much as possible, the only thing I would say to parents with young children is that we do have a staircase but have since removed the stair gates otherwise its a perfect place for them to be. Outside: We have a lovely and quiet roof top garden 6 x 4mtr which is a real sun trap for the entire day. It is private with a wooden fence surrounding it. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned on a Saturday (except the Christmas period) and has linen and towels included in the price. Other: We also have a roof top sun terrace (6 x 4mtrs) which catches the sun from sunrise to sunset allowing you to sunbath in privacy if you don't feel the need to stroll to the beach
