About Ann Lord

We have the best of two worlds, living in England and the opportunity to stay in our villa whenever we are free yo do so. We offer you an invitation to stay there with your family, knowing that you'll feel comfortable and secure on the estate and will not be disappointed. The villa is detached with its own pool and has beautiful panoramic views across the valley to the mountains. We love it and everyone who has been there enjoys the peace and tranquility with the freedom just to please oneself. It has a little micro-climate all of its own. Plenty of opportunity for the high-life in town or on the Playa whenever you want it!

Tapas evening in town on a Thursday for 2 euros for a tapas and a drink. Most restaurants are participating and it is very popula.A good way to see Gandia at night.

Ann Lord purchased this villa in 1989

Why Ann Lord chose Gandia

The individual detached, mature villa is approached by an external staircase with the benefit of living accommodation on one level. It is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty with panoramic views over the orange groves to the mountains beyond. Casa Satora (named according to the the initials of my children) was purchased new in 1989 and we have continued to upgrade it. We were attracted by the Spanishness of the area, the location and privacy of the urbanisation (private estate) of Monte Pino and the fact that it's not "Little England". The residents are mainly Spanish, living and working in the area, also one or two English owners. The town of Gandia is easy to get to, as is La Playa. They are each 10 minutes drive away and you don't have to go through town to get to La Playa.

What makes this villa unique

You are in an area of natural beauty and panoramic views, together with private pool, BBQ house with terrace. The terraced garden and quiet location provide privacy and peace with easy access by car to facilities - cultural, recreational, eating, drinking, retail in Gandia and La Playa. Do drive up the mountain to Barx and try the Valencian paella cooked traditionally with chicken & rabbit over wood but book up,as it's very popular with locals! From Barx drive down to the beautiful old monastery in Simat and beyond. Within a few minutes walk we have a good local, traditional Spanish restaurant and also several walks. Drive to Cullera, park the car and take an easy half hour train journey to Valencia, historically, economically and culturally one of the important cities of Spain and Europe.

Fantastic, tranquil and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time I have stayed here with various family members. The villa is a hit with both my children who think of it as their "Spanish home" the pool was and always is clean and a hit with everyone. The community feel from the gate guards made us feel secure and at home. A great villa with a fantastic owner who helps every step of the way. We will definately be returning.

Owner's Response: Dear Deborah, I am so pleased that you and your family continue to enjoy Casa Satora so much. It gives me great pleasure, especially after your third stay, that the children refer to it as their Spanish home. That is so rewarding for me ! Other guests have also said that they feel completely relaxed and comfortable. I agree with you that it is so peaceful by the pool on the terraces but also within driving distance of La Playa de Gandia where, in summer, you can find the excitement for young and old and in quiet season a relaxing walk by the sea. It must have been a good break for you all before going back to school for the second half of term. Best wishes, Ann

amazing place, tranquil with fantastic views.

  • 4 of 5

was my first time booking with owners direct so was abit apprehensive, i need not have worried as ann was quick at emailing me details and put my mind at ease.

we paid direct transfer and we had booking info sent by email straight away.

we went to pick the keys up from her family member on the way to the villa which was pretty straight forward and he was friendly with a big house.

we arrived at the villa around 10pm and we were tired so went to bed.

it wasn't until the next day when it was light we fully appreciated the villa for what it was. the sun was shining over the pool and the views were breath taking.

there was a bbq area which we didn't manage to use but we did use the fridge there to put our bevvies in.

there was a double bed and two twin beds,

the kitchen had everything you needed and i did cook a couple of times as we couldnt be bothered to go out spme of the days.

i did put plenty of ice in the freezer which came in handy for around he pool, i bought some plastic throw away glasses which helped.

we had to open all the shutters at night as there was no air conditioning just fans, if they did get these installed i wouldn't

mind paying the extra for it.

my other half struggled abit but i seemed to be ok with the fans.

i hired a car to get around as i think you would struggle otherwise.

the villa is in a security complex so feel 100% safe.

gandia was different and we had a walk around olivia mostly drummed up for the locals.

i went to valencia from the tram station took about 45mins and we drove to xenia or something like that to catch it.

valencia was amazing we even watched the footy match real beatis v valencia .

drove to benidorm for a laugh one day took about an hour and half.

road are brilliant for driving my 2nd time driving abroad and i found it quite easy.

i would definately go to this

villa again as it is private, great views - you are in the mountains so you are slightly out of the main parts.

but suited me.

im sure you could taxi to places if need be.

i can't wait to return, thanks for a great holiday xx dee and jon xx

Great stay, quiet, peaceful and a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Casa Satora several times. The villa is part of the Montepino Ubinisation so us safe and secure. The villa is situated on the side of a hill and has its own private drive. It has some steps leading up to the front door. To the left is the terrace, barbecue and pool area and to the right is the villa. The villa is spacious with large lounge area and a well appointed kitchen. What is great is that the kitchen has everything you need. The villa was clean, presentable and to a high standard. The barbecue and pool are great. We have stayed in many villas in the area and it has the warmest pool of all. The view is incredible. With Gandia only a short drive everything you could need is close by. We will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful villa with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful villa in its own grounds with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Well appointed but the real seller is the pool and terrace outside, and the BBQ house. Very, very hot when we were there - 42 degrees at one stage - so please note that there is no air-conditioning (we had misread that part of description, our own fault). Magnificent beaches, all along the coast, and really liked Gandia itself both old and new towns. This is a resort area, but primarily Spanish, and the food is great everywhere. Good markets too (thanks to the two pool guys for pointing us to the best ones!) If you are there in July, don't miss the bull running in Denia - lots of fun, especially if you can swim!

Owner's Response: I am delighted that you enjoyed your holiday at Casa Satora. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. You are quite right everyone loves the splendid view. As the villa is above the valley it does benefit from some breezes. If I had the expense of air conditioning I would have to pass this on to clients which could make the cost prohibitive for some guests. I am pleased to say that I do have repeat business each year, which speaks for itself. Once again, thank you.

Fantastic Chill Out Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had the most fantastic time staying in this wonderful Villa. The location is just perfect for those that like peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Situated up in the mountains the views from the house, terrace and poolside are stunning and the pool is large enough to enjoy a swim and is also beautifully clean. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with large windows and tiled floors....the light comes in but the house stays cool. One of the best things is the wonderful BBQ room on the outside terrace, freshly cooked food, wonderful smells and a bottle or two of Rioja....a perfect end to the day!! There are a couple of supermarkets about 10 minutes drive away with a great range of products all very reasonably priced. You will need a car but we were so happy here we hardly ventured out. Can thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a chill out and relax holiday.

Second stay at Casa Satora

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we stayed at Casa Satora. The views are as stunning as I recall, the weather was beautiful and we made the most of it, the pool and the great outdoor bbq house. The supermarkets are easy to get to (generally on the way back from the beach) and the prices are great. If all you really want to do is relax and enjoy rustic Spain then this is for you. Sublime!
