I have been leaving in the Far East and Australia before settling down in the UK. I was born in Brittany.

South Finistere is for me, by far the best area in Brittany. it is warmer than the North or west of the peninsular. it is much less crowded and constructed that the Morbihan. The landscape is more savage, the tradition is more deep, present, than in other more visited areas. Defenitely the place to choose if you want to have a real grasp about what is Britanny all about. Obviously, the Crepes are also the best!

This is the kind of place you tell your friends about but no one else otherwise it will become too popular. The house is storybook beautiful and absolutely perfect renovated. You will find in the kitchen everything you need. It is enough space for 2 families with children. Everybody has his private area. Even if it%u2019s rainy outside the house gives you enough rooms and space inside. We have enjoyed the week in this house and especially dining outdoors. You may pick up fresh fish or other fruits of see directly from the fisher boat which stops every day at the Port Belon, which is app. 6 km apart or make a barbeque in front of the house. We absolutely loved the place, which is only few minutes walk from the sea. It is a beautiful place and an excellent base for exploring the surrounds of Bretagne. We took also the advantage to ride the bicycle in the area. Really sorry we didn\'t have more time there to hang around and take in the scenery, its so peaceful there. We will be back somed

Great Family Holiday

We spent a week here and wish it could have been two weeks. The house is well fitted out and very comfortable, we were a group of 12.

It is a short walk to great beaches and seaside restaurants. The nearby port has regular fishing boat arrivals. The mackerel and langoustine were excellent. The latter need booking ahead if you want to be sure of any. The locals are all ahead of you otherwise.

The region is quiet and beautiful. Whats not to like.

Owner's Response: Martin, I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay. We put a lot of care in making sure the house in confortable, the bathrooms are modern (strong water flow) and numerous. We know that if you come either with friends or your extended family, you want your private area to relax. All the bedrooms are very large and confortable, so that children can run around... The double beds are 160 cm wide by 200 cm long, a nice feeling when your little one is trying to get inside your bedroom late at night or early in the morning... I also love the different views to the sea, which change depending of the floor you are on. It is also great to read that both young children and teenagers enjoy the house and the area. I guess everybody find its own pleasure and activity, and have time to relax alone when they wish. Please come back one day :)

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

About 5 minutes walk from the coast.

No road to cross.

15 minutes walk from a large fine sanded beach.

Smaller beaches at around 8 minutes by a safe walk from the house (no cars around and no road to cross).

Travel:

Lorient Airport is 30 minutes away from the house. Quimper airport is 45 minutes away. Brest airport is 1 hr and a half away.

Distances:

Famous village of Pont Aven is only 15 minutes drive from the house. Gauguin stayed in Pont Aven for a long time. You can visit the house where he stayed and painted on some walls. It is now a lovely small museum. Pont Aven is now a bubbly village offering good restaurants and wonderful food shops as well as fantastic scenery. The lovely town of Quimper is a 45 minute drive from the house. It offers a wonderful indoors market every morning as well as many good restaurants and glorious scenery.

Further Details:

The village of Moelan sur Mer is 10 minutes away from the house by car, but you can get to a great bakery and a few other shops nearby in 3 minutes by car or 10 minutes by bike.

Lorient and its famous Celtic music festival (first two weeks of August) is half an hour away.
