Penthouse Apartment at Valparaiso near Burriana Beach, Nerja, Costa del Sol - Apartment Situated In A Quiet Residential Area; 500metres From Burriana Beach And Main Road To Town

Our two bedroomed apartment (sleeps 4), with A/C and recently installed fibre broadband WiFi, is just a 5 minute stroll to the popular Burriana Beach area of Nerja, with its many cosmopolitan restaurants, beach bars and shops, and just a 20 minute walk into Nerja Town Centre. The apartment is on the top floor (Floor 2), with lift and secure access. The well maintained gardens surround the small children's pool and the larger pool. Days can be spent in the seclusion of our large terrace with its sea and mountain views.

We are now, as required by law of all self catering apartments in Andalucía, fully registered with the Junta de Andalucía (see registration number below).

About Mike and Val Korn

Val and I (Mike) have owned the apartment since February 2008. We have made many changes since taking over, including refurbishing the kitchen and bathroom, installing air conditioning, WiFi and Internet TV, purchasing new, more comfortable sofas, 5ft bed and dining suite, as well as adding extra touches to the equipment in the kitchen and to the bed linen. We very much want guests to feel that they are in a 'home from home'. We use the apartment regularly for our own holidays and never tire of the charms of Nerja.

We want all guests to leave with a feeling of having had a comfortable and relaxing stay and encourage comments to improve our service in our Guest Comments Book.

We have an excellent manager, who can be contacted whilst in Nerja, who will endeavour to sort out any problems that may arise.

Why Mike and Val Korn chose Nerja

We first came to Nerja on a package holiday with our 2 children, then 16 and 13 years old, in 2001, and stayed at the Marinas at the far western end of Nerja. What we liked about Nerja was its unspoilt feel. Although never having visited the Costa del Sol, we had images of high rise hotels and construction work going on - this was not the case. Since then we have been coming back to Nerja at least once a year ever since, never tiring of the place. Even now you still get the feeling that it is very much a Spanish town which also has a lot of Brits in residence. Yes, there are English bars and places to eat, but with a little thought, there are still many traditional Spanish places to eat and drink.

What makes this apartment unique

Because of the relaxed nature of Nerja, holidaying here always leaves you returning home very relaxed and, in our case, wanting to come back for more. The apartment is close enough to Burriana Beach and its amenities, as well as the town itself, to stroll down to, however, it retains a sense of tranquillity by being just that little way back from the 'frontline'.

Coast/Beach:

Burriana Beach, which is Blue Flag beach, takes less than 5 minutes to stroll down to from our apartment. There are children's play areas, beach volley ball courts, a water sports activity centre, pedalos, beach bars, cafes and restaurants to suit a wide variety of tastes. Several of the restaurants along Calle Caribeo, in town, allow patrons to enjoy the spectacular sea-views whilst taking a break from the many varied shops Nerja town centre has to offer. The tapas trails are very popular with guests.

Travel:

Malaga airport is 6 kms from Malaga city centre and approx. 53km (35 miles) to Nerja. Full directions will be supplied if transfer is by car. A car will enhance your visit to Nerja, but it is not essential to enjoy your holiday. Other ways of transfer are public transport, taxi or an airport/resort shuttle bus; (details can be provided on request). There is a regular local bus (not during siesta) which services the main parts of town and is a 10 minute walk from apartment. During the summer months (July and August) the local bus comes down to pick-up and drop-off at Burriana (200m from the apartment).

Distances:

It is a 20 minute stroll into Nerja centre and Burriana beach is a five minute walk down a pretty hill, with stunning mountainous and sea views. We are a 10 minute walk, (3 minutes by car,) to a good national chain supermarket (take our shopping trolley if going on foot), and a few minutes walk away at Burriana is a local supermarket, well stocked, although more expensive than the ones in town. We have discovered several independent mini-markets on the way to town; with some bargain buys.

Further Details:

In central Nerja, there are lots of banks and cash points and excellent shops. The town is unspoilt and the local people and businesses have prospered through tourism, but still retain their friendly manner and warm welcome. The Balcon de Europe is at the heart of the town and ideal for enjoying a drink, a delicious ice-cream and a stroll; it is a great place to observe life in Nerja. People tend to return to Nerja, year after year, especially as the climate is ideal for a long winter break. Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Ideal for a family and couples alike. There are 2 pools in the extremely pleasant, communal garden; the second pool is a paddling pool. Free WiFi is available in an adjacent block in the 'Salon Social'. The area is very attractive and residential with a mixture of mature villas and sensitively developed urbanizations. Although the beach, bars and restaurants are only a 5 minute walk away, they do not spoil the tranquillity of the area. The bars and restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisines to suit many tastes and budgets (see information pack and Guest Comments Book in the apartment). Outside there are lovely mature gardens around the pool area and, for most of the year, beautiful flowers. The 16 foot long terrace gets the sun nearly all day and is well equipped with rattan furniture, 2 sun beds, a retractable awning, a good sized patio table and 4 chairs, (with cushions); ideal for outdoor eating. There are a variety of patio plants and wall decorations which enhance the ambience on the patio. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: The apartment will be fully cleaned and prepared for your arrival. Linen and towels are included in the price. We also operate a beach towel hire service. (3 Euro/towel); this saves on baggage allowance. Other: We have just installed fast speed fibre broadband into the apartment with WiFi to enable us to provide UK TV via the Internet.

Just like your own home in the Sun!!

We've just returned from a 10 night stayed in this apartment on the recommendation of a family member who had stayed there previously.

As mention in all the reviews this apartment provides guest a high standard of accommodation at extremely competitive rates taking in to account how close you are to the beach and is a real home away from home with every conceivable item you can think to make a holiday stress free.

We enjoyed the uses of the private terrace which gets the sun from morning to late evening and is larger enough to give you the option of both sunbathing and/or dining.

The bedrooms in the apartment are both a good size with extremely comfy beds and with ceiling fans in both rooms in addition to the A/C made it very easy to sleep at night. Also the apartment has the usual Irish & UK TV Channels available along with excellent WI-FI.

We would like to thank Mike & Val for the used of their beautiful apartment and complement them of the how easy they make their booking process. Also we like to say a special thanks you to their agent John in Nerja who helps us with a minor issued with the air con on our first morning there which was sorted during the time it took us to have a relaxing brunch in Nerja.

All in all we would recommend this apartment to all and we are extremely impressed by excellent service provided which made our holiday that much more special.

Beautifulapt that really enhanced our hol

Mike and Val have equipped their accommodation to a high standard - a real home away from home with all you need in the sun. The apartment is lovely, ideally located to the beautiful Burriana beach. All the holiday info is provided in a folder which is full of useful tips that enabled us to quickly navigate our way around this beautiful area of Nerja. We loved lounging on the big private terrace having breakfast out there in the morning sunshine, sunbathing when it was too busy on the beach and enjoying a glass of wine or a beer. The gardens and pool around the apartment block are beautifully kept. From the moment we contacted Mike we received a warm friendly and efficient service and a wealth of information before the holiday and in the apartment. We had a totally enjoyable week and will certainly recommend it to friends - but you need to get in early as this apt is heavily booked. The welcome pack is an excellent little bonus. We look forward to a return visit.

We stayed in this lovely apartment in July 2014 unfortunately only for 4 days as we were attending a wedding in Corboba.

The apartment itself was very comfortable and has a very homely feel with lots of little extras which make a massive difference to your stay, for example on arrival the owners left us a beautiful welcome pack which is not the norm (free of charge anyway) in Spain

There are 2 good size bedroom in the apartment and is very well equipped with cooking facilities, laundry and comfy furnishings.

The terrace in the apartment was beautiful and very private as is the whole apartment block yet we were within easy walking distance to the beautiful Burraina beach and it many Shops, Bars & Restaurants.

I have and would highly recommend this apartment to family and friends or anyone looking for a holiday apartment in Nerja and was extremely impressed by the help and information provided by the owners from the time of booking up to our arrival in Nerja.

Great accommodation in Nerja

We visited Nerja last Spring and had the opportunity to stay in very comfortable, convenienient accommodations there. We had a 2 bedroom apartment that was very well equipped with cooking facilities, laundry and comfy furnishings. The owners left us a beautiful welcome basket of goodies and a binder of information on the local area. The view from the terrace was beautiful and we were walking distance to the beach, shopping and the centre of Nerja. We loved our time there and would not hesitate to return.

Booking Notes:
A booking form and Terms and Conditions will be sent once a confirmed enquiry has been received. A 20% deposit is payable, together with the completed booking form. The booking will be held for 7 days from when the booking form has been sent. The balance of the rental is to be paid 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. Payments can be made by Bank Transfer or cheque. We welcome enquiries for longer lets. The prices quoted are fully inclusive with no additional costs.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible, depending on bookings. Our agent is easily contactable and able to help with any thing which needs local knowledge or help at short notice.

Notes on prices:
Genuine enquiries welcome. Prices are non-negotiable, as they reflect our ongoing running costs and our continual upgrading of the facilities in the apartment, however, enquiries for longer term lets may be negotiable.
Spread the cost of the rental by paying over a set period of months, as a number of our regular guests do, taking advantage of a smaller (10%) deposit on booking. Contact us for further details.
A discretionary contribution towards the WiFi is requested based on usage.

Payments to be made either by cheque or bank transfer. A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking and the balance is to be paid no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival.
