About Luis

Born in Mallorca, me and my family are living in Soller for many years. I am working in airline as a Flight Dispatcher in Palma de Mallorca airport. My favorit hobby is travel as soon as I have time and money. I am trying to give the best service to my customer, same that I like to recive when I am traveling. the cottage rented was built by my grandfather and has been rebuilt by me few years ago, I have tried to do my best to get a space confortable and well equiped in a place surrounded of country side y beautifull landscape. I hope you can enjoy it and finish your holidays happy with your choice.

Special interest holidays:

You can easily get by with out a car if you like walking. But if you do rent a car we recommend you rent the smallest you can do to the narrow roads on the island. And a car is recomendable to get the most out of your stay in Mallorca. If it is your first time you will want to visit different areas and beaches. There are several weekend markets in different villages that are fun to see.

In the main plaza you can find many restaurants, coffee shops that offer wifi,bars,galleries, local artisans,outside terraces to relax, pharmacies, banks, and the lovely antique train station with its wood trams that run between Soller and the fishing port where there are beaches, boat rentals, and other water sports. Excellent hiking,scuba diving center,blue water fishing,tennis courts,a full size. Olympic swimming pool 2 km away,two gymnasiums. There are supermarkets, boutiques, hairdressers. The Saturday morning market is a must.

Coast/Beach:

Port de Soller is a five minute drive or a 20 minute walk. It has many beaches, restaurants, shops, and a large marina,boat rentals,and other water sports, scuba diving center, blue water fishing. The pebble beach at Cala Deia is one of the most unique on the island and an easy 10 minute drive. Two rustic seafood restaurants cling to the rocks overlooking the beach and lunch there is a must. The antique wood tram has a regular service between Soller and the beach. Lluc Alcari is 10 min drive.

Travel:

Palma (PMI) has regular flight connections with most of Europe. If you are driving yourself from the airport: exit Airport on the MA-19 West, direction Palma continue on highway MA-19 till you get to the exit MA-20, direction Andratx. Continue on highway MA-20 till you get to the exit MA-11. Take MA-11 to Soller. You will have two options to drive the mountain pass that is quite beautiful but very curvy and takes about 30 min, or take the tunnel straight to Soller.

Distances:

Deia 5 minute drive.

Soller main square 5 minute drive.

Port of Soller 5 minute drive.

Palma 25 minute drive.

Airport 30 minute drive.

Further Details:

The Cottage is located in very quite area, but at the same time Soller, Port of Soller and Deia are full of good restaurants, beaches, Shops and Supermarkets that makes your stay comfortable and easy, all services available with very short drive.

If you like sports there are soccer, tennis and basketball fields available with short drive.

If you enjoy water sports or activities in Port of Solller there is a Nautical School where you can rent a boat or kayak and there is scuba diving center.

Outside: Large ground floor terrace overlooking mountains and pool Table, outdoor chairs and parasol provided and hammock. Next to terrace on ground floor, tiled walk through tended garden with olives, lemons, figs and pomegranate trees, leading to pool terrace, overlooking the garden and with absolutely stunning views of the Tramuntana Mountains. The salty water chlorinated private swimming pool measures 5.50 x 5.50. The salt water chlorination is healthier, more natural and better for skin and hair. Parasol, reclining chairs, table, cushions and separate shower included. Above the swimming pool terrace, shaded by ancient olive trees, is a quiet area with hammocks, ideal for afternoon naps. Great base for exploring the Tramuntanas

The cottage was a superb base for our Easter holidays. There are good hiking possibilities just outside the door (hiking to Deia and the higher route to Soller are recommended) and the pool was much appreciated when we came back from exploring the Tramuntana mountains.

The terasse was great and we had all our meals there.

Nearest shopping is Soller so it requires a little planning.

A great place if you like to be a little off the beaten track.

A perfect place to escape from it all!

A really great property which exceeded our expectations - somehow the photos did not do it justice.

The property and pool were larger than we imagined: The house sits very well in its landscape, nestled among olive and fig trees on a steeply sloping mountain terrace, and the décor and furniture are tasteful and simple, including some lovely pictures and ceramic lamps. The beds were reasonably comfortable although thicker/softer pillows would help. We took mosquito nets but mossies weren't a big problem, even though we were there in late July/early August. It was hot at night but there is one portable floor standing fan, and the house keeps fairly cool with its thick walls and small windows - good traditional methods without resorting to aircon!

We were pleased to find a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a TV but I could only get one or two German channels for some reason, but I didn't bother trying very hard as it was nice to escape TV for a while! Likewise there is no WiFi or 3G/4G signal - no bad thing!

The view of the mountains from the terrace and the hammock is breathtakingly beautiful - we never got bored of it. The area is lovely - good footpaths from the house, great restaurants (Son Bleda 10 minutes up the footpath is cracking!) and stunning towns and villages nearby (especially Soller and Fornalutx). Beaches are small and difficult to access, but well worth the hassle as they are stunning. Beware the jellyfish though - they can be a problem!

The pool is the best thing: Very clean and no chlorine stench. Bigger than it looks at around 6m x 6m x 1.3m deep approx. I could just about do some serious swimming diagonally from corner to corner - I could get 3 or 4 full strokes in before needing to turn. There are steps into the pool too. We managed to teach my 5 year old son to swim unaided during our two week stay with the combination of a good book. Despite being well out of his depth, he managed to gain confidence by doing practice techniques with goggles which the steps were great for. We were worried about safety at the house before we arrived but it was fine - there is a balustrade around two edges of the pool over the steep drops. There is no fence around the pool so young children will need to be supervised at all times nearby but again this was fine. The terrace has a low balustrade with a steep drop which might be a problem with young toddlers.

Fantastic for responsible parents though!

My friend and i spent a wonderful very relaxing holiday in this house. Is ist sinpel an nice und quiet. The smell of pines, the bels of the sheep in the surrounding hills, birds, ...... We got every thing we needed. You can start four nice walks, just behind the garden fence. It ist a great pleasure! Restaurants are near, car is good to have.

Property was clean and in good condition.Approached down a rough track which you get used to.

Property description accurate and if anything the location and views exceeded the description.

Kitchen small but kitted out ok for self catering, could have done with a kettle.

Obvious that the whole building had been recently refurbished with good sized lounge, bedrooms and bathroom, very good sized and equipped outside seating area for meals and taking in the views.

The hammock was much desired by our family, I never got near it.

The gardens/orchard supplied figs and almonds along with the opportunity to observe insect and bird life (locust, grasshopper, butterfly, orphean warbler, serin, kestrel, buzzard, crossbill).

The pool was clean and in good condition. a big bonus for us was that it was sanitised by a salt/chlorine solution very different from the stinging smelly chlorine at the local baths.None of us had the itchy skin you get from chlorine.It really was an eye opener, literally. The pool was a joy to use as often as wanted and in comfort.

The property is ideally placed to explore the mountains and beaches of the north of the island.

The property owner answered all our questions before we arrived and brought some basic provisions on request for our arrival.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found plenty to do.

Recommended to friends.
