This luxury one bedroom apartment sits at the basement of a luxury villa with its own private access. It Lies in the Eastern Algarve, close to the town of Castro Marim. It is only 3km from the numerous unspoilt beaches, the closest being Praia Verde. The resorts of Vila Real and Monte Gordo are less than a 10 minute drive away. This one bedroom apartment is very light and spacious. A key feature to this property is its private position, making it ideal for relaxing and sun-bathing. Or for the more energetic there are two gorgeous golf courses nearby. The occupants will have sole use of the 10 x 5m swimming pool, which can be heated if needed see notes on prices.

Julie, Stuart and family, lived in the Algarve for five years and have now returned to the UK. We fell in love with the Villa the moment we walked in, and we hope other families enjoy our gorgeous home as much as we have.

The area is the unspoilt part of the Algarve, beautiful beaches and quaint resorts, yet accessible to other areas. So close to the Spanish border you can sample Spanish or Portuguese cuisine. We were lucky to live in the area for five years, it has everything you need for a holiday. Privacy for sunbathing and swimming. Local resorts with restaurants and bars. nearby shops to peruse around, Supermarkets to buy local produce and stunning beaches for long walks, picnics or sunbathing.

This area has all the amenities, beauty and charm, without the costs of the Central Algarve.

What makes this apartment unique

A unique point to the apartment is the location. The apartment unfolds onto a large undercover area, which in turn unfolds onto a decking area and pool. This backs onto rolling fields, therefore guests have complete privacy to enjoy their holiday. The apartment is a modern design and very spacious.

Notes on accommodation: Welcome pack provided on arrival, including: Bread; eggs; water; milk; butter, jam, tea, coffee, sugar and wine. Outside: Out through the patio doors is a massive private patio area, leading onto a 10 x 5m pool of which the occupant has sole use of. From the decking area, there are open countryside views which makes this an ideal area for sunbathing (loungers provided). Comfortable outdoor sofas provided for relaxation. Gas and Charcoal BBQ, outdoor table and chairs are ideal for alfresco dining. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels provided, including pool towels.

Lovely apartment, spacious and private

We found the apartment to be as lovely as it looked on the photos.

Stuart, the owner, was really friendly & helpful but didn't intrude in anyway, even though he lives upstairs.

We stayed in most of the nights during our stay and used the big gas bbq provided to cook. There are no restaurants in walking distance but there are some not too far away and there is an English speaking taxi driver who we used on the two occasions we did eat out. We chose this apartment because we wanted to cook in and have the space and privacy to put our feet up, play a little music and relax after a day on the beach / out and about. There is a nice view from the terrace and swallows dip into the pool in the evening as the sunsets, which was lovely. Pool is a good size and was kept clean. The welcome pack provided is a thoughtful gesture too.

We would definitely like to return in the future.

Our stay

The apartment is set in a quiet residential area which made for a relaxing holiday. We thought the apartment was spacious and well appointed, the pool and decking area were fantastic with plenty of seating areas depending on your requirement. We thought the apartment would benefit from a dishwasher, hence the 4 stars not 5. You definitely require a car if staying here as the town is several kilometres away. You are in an ideal position to explore Spain as you are only 3 kilometres away from the boarder. There was a welcome pack on arrival which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The owner, Stuart, was on hand to meet us when we arrived and showed us around explaining everything we needed to know. Would recommend if you were wanting a quiet relaxing holiday.

Outstanding!

To say this apartment was perfect for us is an understatement! It was absolutely everything we could have hoped for: beautifully kept, so peaceful, within a short driving distance from everything you need but the cream on the cake has to be the private pool - a true rarity.

Julie's correspondence was clear, friendly and very helpful indeed. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Stuart when we arrived. He armed us with some valuable advice for our stay which included information on local events (the medieval festival in Castro Marim is an absolute MUST), directions to the beach, the shops etc. plus a tour of the beautiful apartment. We were lucky enough to meet Julie later in the week who is as lovely as Stuart. They live in the house above which was a comfort to me as I was there with my two daughters and they made me feel extremely comfortable in approaching them for advice if I needed it, however, were completely unobtrusive otherwise.

Stuart keep the pool sparkling clean throughout the week and the whole pool area is perfect as you have a choice of either sunshine or shade. We were never disturbed by neighbours or any other noise which was just what I was hoping for.

The apartment is only a short five minute drive to a number of beaches, a ten minute drive to the shops and to the ferry where you can travel to Ayamonte, Spain.

I can't recommend this apartment highly enough. I should very much like to return and holiday there again. You absolutely must go!!!

Great spacious apartment with an excellent heated pool and very helpful owners

We had a great week relaxing by the pool at the apartment, visiting the local area and beaches and eating in the local restaurants. Very good suggestions for places to visit and to eat from the owners. We would recommend to friends and will consider returning ourselves.

The apartment description was accurate and the was clean and well maintained, including pool.

Quiet with own pool

Lovely place but for no handrails on steps down to property and the shower could have been bigger as the bathroom was huge. Everything else was lovely and the welcome pack was a lovely thought. Good area for sightseeing in both Portugal and Spain. If you like beaches there are plenty to pick from. Pool was great especially solo use. I would recommend to friends.

Absolutely fantastic property, perfect size and private pool! Perfect!

This is the second time we have stayed in the property and we hope to return! It really is perfect. It is a lovely modern apartment with everything you need and access to a fantastic pool. Plenty space to sit/dine inside and out. Great gas barbeque. It is also completely private. Good base to explore eastern algarve and close to Spanish border. I absolutely love this place! Perfect for couple.

Gorgeous unspoilt beaches combined with glorious sunshine are just part of the East Algarve’s attractions. The beach of Praia Verde is just 5 minutes away, with several restaurants that serve delicious local catches.

Travel:

Faro Airport is approximately 55km away. Car hire can be obtained at Faro Airport. A car is essential for this holiday (although some guests have used taxis which are reasonably priced in this area). Bicycle hire is available in the local town of Monte Gordo.

Distances:

The town of Tavira with its historic buildings and bridges is only 15 minutes away. If it is shopping you are looking for then Tavira has a brand new shopping mall, with numerous clothes and household shops. The area of Castro Marim lies on the border of Spain, therefore many of Spain’s quaint towns including, the nearest Ayamonte, are easy accessible.

Further Details:

The area is full of nature reserves and natural pine forests. North of Castro Marim is an area of outstanding natural beauty alongside the Guadiana river, past the great dams of Beliche and Odeleite and on up to Alcoutim.
