Why Yvette Mitchell chose Mijas area

We were initially attracted to the Costa del Sol some 16 years ago primarily because of the strong record of all-year-around sun and warm temperatures, and we also had family connections here. We bought our first property nearly 13 years ago, and have owned a home on the 'sunshine' coast' ever since. We moved 6 years ago to our current villa because we wanted to be much closer to the sea, with sea views, and also wanted the ability to be able to WALK in under 10 minutes to the beach and to the very pretty town of La Cala de Mijas, which offers an array of lovely restaurants and bars, which curls around the beautiful beachfront of what is 'the cove of Mijas' (La Cala de Mijas).

The key benefits of our villa are: 7 minutes walk to the beach & La Cala shops & restaurants. Detached villa with own private pool and gardens. Roof-top terrace with stunning sea views. Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Though the villa doesn't have air-conditioning, we have never found it necessary as the villa stays naturally cool, we do have ceiling and rooms fans which again help keep the villa cool - Pool is heated by solar panels so needs the sun out to work. Outside: Pool is solar heated (needs the sun out for this work) and is professionally cleaned and maintained. It has a pool-side shower, sunbeds and loungers, sun shades. Gas barbeque. Covered outdoor dining terrace with dining for 6 Large roof terrace with furniture, with lovely sea and mountain views (great for sun-downers!) Utility Room: washing machine, wc and wash sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Includes: pool and garden maintenance,clean bed linen and towels, professionally laundered for our guests) and we also have pool/beach towels available. Also includes all electric, gas. The only extra is an 'Exit Clean' of 50-80 euros, payable locally. Other: All rooms have either fans and heaters (some both) and all windows are fitted with mosquito nets (there is wrought iron security on all windows and entrances). Also 2x hairdryers available.

Beautiful Villa

This is a beautiful villa within walking distance of a range of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The villa is very pretty and very well equipped. The photos do not do it justice.

Steve and Yvette were very helpful.

We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend this villa to others.

Home from home

Had a great family holiday in a beautiful, well equipped villa. Just as described in the listing and well provisioned with basics to get you started. Close to amenities and although we had a car, could easily have done without. Pool was a bit chilly even with the solar heating. It was a bit better later in the week when the sun was out from early morning and the wind dropped. Yvette and Steve were very responsive to our enquiries and our security deposit was returned in a timely manner. We all enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked for next year.

Absolutely lovely villa. Home from home.

We have stayed a few times in and around la Cala and this villa is absolutely perfect, very clean and well maintained, you can tell this used to be someone's home. It is a short 5/10 minute downhill walk to the bars, restaurants and supermarket. The villa has plenty of room for a family and the facilities are lovely (the new kitchen is great and has everything you need). The pool is a good size, not too deep and is easily accessible with safe steps.

I dealt with Yvette when booking the villa who was lovely and answered all my never ending questions, including restaurant advice, I would recommend The little Geranium (as per Yvette) but would book in advance as they are very popular.

Thank you Yvette & Steve for a lovely stay, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves... Hope to be back soon.

Lovely Villa....Made for a lovely holiday

Having stayed in a few villas in this area over the last 10 years this is without doubt the best...It has all you need for a lovely stay plus little extras that "might come in handy"..Its in a fabulous convenient location for La Cala village and a good base if you fancy longer trips in a car/bus/train.

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children and fitted in with room to spare..

I cant recommend this villa highly enough and the owners are an absolute pleasure to deal with....Thanks for a great stay..

Lovely Villa

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's very homely with great comfy sofas and spacious. Great modern kitchen and pretty gardens including roof terrace with stunning views. We did have a problem with the pool heating not working but the owner let us know in advance and sought to get it rectified. It's only a 10 minute walk to supermarket and there's a nice restaurant 5 minutes away. Mijas town is chilled out with lovely beach.

A Perfect Chilled Holiday

We have just returned from a perfect relaxing weeks holiday in this villa, we only wish we had booked longer than a week. I stayed in this villa with two of my closest friends and we found it to be the perfect space for us. We literally lived on the terrace and in the pool! We had fantastic weather and the terrace beside the pool always remains cool as well shaded, so we had lunch every day here. The pool is fantastic, the best one we have ever had in a villa, always a lovely temperature and no scary deep bits! Also a brilliant outside shower that Is really useful for cool downs. Lots of lovely restaurants close by, once you go over the bridge over the motorway once, your totally used to it, this is only at the bottom of the road and also takes you to the beach. We all had a fantastic holiday and felt so relaxed on our return, we will definately be back! Thank you Yvette for our stay and the lovely surprise welcome drink that became our addiction!

Coast/Beach:

It's just 7 minutes walk to the pretty fishing village of La Cala de Mijas with it's all-sand cove beach, which is dotted along with lovely beach side restaurants and cafes. Great safe beach for children, with a variety of ongoing activities.

Travel:

Malaga airport is just 25 minutes drive from terminal to villa front door, and car hire on the Costa is relatively inexpensive (we can recommend affordable car hire companies from the airport, if you require). A hire car is useful but not essential because the villa is so close to shops, restaurants and beaches. If you don't want to hire a car you can easily take the train from Malaga airport to Fuengirola (takes about 30 mins) and then take a short taxi ride from the train station to the villa.

Distances:

8 minutes WALK to pretty La Cala beachfront and town, with all its restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops and cafes.

Further Details:

La Cala de Mijas is famous pretty fishing village, with lots going on. It buzzes with numerous fairs and festivals throughout the year (the Spanish love their ferias!). There is a very popular market every Wednesday and Saturdays the people come from miles around to go to (you can walk to it from the villa) - the market sells everything you can think of at bargain prices.

Booking Notes:
The villa can accommodate 2 to 6 people + baby (prices based on upto 4 guests) A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before occupation. The only additional cost is the 'exit clean' of 50 - 80 euros (depending on the number of guests) paid locally. For those staying longer than a week a mid clean and/or linen change can easily be arranged for approx 30 - 70 euros.

Changeover Day:
We are flexible depending on existing bookings, so just ask. The only time we specify a Saturday changeover day is High season. Checkout: 11am Departure day so we can prepare for our next clients. Check in: Villa ready from 3.30pm onwards.

Notes on prices:
Prices upto 4 guests, add £50 per person (5th & 6th) per week. Happy to rent for long weekends or midweek periods during off peak (Oct - May) Long let also considered, please just ask. We require a £300 security deposit which is refunded when the villa keys have been returned and our 'housekeepers' confirm that there have been no damages. Exit Clean between 50 - 80 euros depending on the number of guests, everything else is included in the price, ie pool/garden maintenance, elec, gas, wifi - The pool is solar heated so needs the sun out to work.

30% deposit require to secure booking, balance and security £300 due 8 weeks prior to arrival, exit clean euros paid locally on day of departure.
