"'We had a fabulous week with our friends and family. The garden was brilliant fun for exploring and trampolining and the pool was lovely.Wonderful evening and lunches together.

"Situated between Ostuni and Ceglie in the Puglia region of Italy, Trullo Fico ticked all the boxes we required from our family holiday. Luxury, comfort, privacy, style, it’s in abundance. From the pool area with two outside seating areas, to the interior design of communal and bedroom spaces, every area has been well thought out and feelings like a home from home. The first holiday we've taken in a while where we feel we’d like to return, to spend more time at Trullo Fico and further explore Puglia. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Andy Lloyd, August 2014 as found on Trip Advisor.

We've loved every bit of our holiday, especially as the weather was so beautiful and the towns and the beaches blissfully tourist-free. We've loved our time here and would come back in a heart-beat. Thank you.

Everything I wanted from my first trip to Puglia

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Puglia and our first proper trip away with our new baby daughter. One of the reasons we chose to stay at Trullo Fico was how baby friendly everything appeared and it was true to that. I'll forever remember this as the place where I first went swimming with my daughter.

I'd like to say that we truly explored the surrounding countryside but the truth was that its was just too easy to sleep (I admit we had other family to look after the baby)! One highlight was visiting Ostuni (the white city) which seemed to be in a state of perpetual fanfare, do not miss the burrata, it is to die for.

Top Notch!! Gorgeous setting and decor.

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful part of Italy and the most stunning holiday home. The decor is second to none, all mod cons, amazing bathrooms and bedrooms.

We had great weather and even with little ones we had a relaxing stay and some gorgeous meals out in the local town. We also went to the local market as all the fresh produce is so fresh and tasty. A must to visit….we will be going back!

Stylish with attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

We came here on a girl's weekend and had a ball. The attention to detail in the property is what really makes it. The beds are really comfortable, the bedding is sumptuous, the rooms are beautifully dark and there is great quality surround sound to listen to music in the outside areas. It's also really stylishly furnished without being over- fussy, which means I would like to come back with the kids. (They'd love the trampoline in the grounds). There are lovely places to eat in the nearby towns too - a real magnet for foodies like us. We came back stuffed but very happy.

From the Owner

We loved Puglia from the moment we set eyes on it, the amazing architecture, history, culture, charming people, wonderful food and wine. These elements, in a beautiful rustic setting dominated by olive trees and still that innate style Italy is famous for! The fact that tourism is low-key and less commercial is particularly appealing, especially in the peak tourist season. A search for the annual rude postcard for my brother drew a blank, something I was very pleased about! We fell in love with Trullo Fico for its history and location. It is a traditional, original stone Saracen Trullo with two newer lamia (vaulted rooms) attached either side. The simplicity of the materials belies the craftsmanship within the building. The stones have definitely got lots of stories to tell.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

There is a wonderful market in Ostuni on Saturday morning (until 1pm) selling an array of fresh, seasonal local produce.

Trullo Fico has sea on both sides of it - the Adriatic is about 10km away with a mixture of sandy and rocky beaches along the extensive coastline. The Ionic coast line, approximately 40km away, is very different, with great historic architecture and white sandy beaches. There you can also find a wide array of water sport activities.

Ryanair flies from London Stansted to Bari and Brindisi. British Airways and Easy Jet fly from Gatwick to Bari. Bari is approximately 80km (an hour and a quarter) from the property. Brindisi is approximately 40km (40 minutes) from the property. Car hire is necessary. Avis, Hertz, Europcar can be found at Bari and Brindisi airports.

Trullo Fico is situated directly between Ostuni (la Citta Bianca) and Ceglie Messapica (Terra d'Arte e Gastronomia) - both are approximately a five minute drive.

Further Details:

In Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica you can find a wide variety of restaurants, osterias, ice-cream parlours and pizzerias. The architecture of these towns is very beautiful and representative of the area. The local supermarket is approximately five minutes by car. Both Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica have excellent individual fish, meat, pasta, fruit and vegetable, wine and cheese shops. The house also provides easy access to other beautiful Baroque towns of Lecce, Martina Franca, Alberobello and Locorotondo.
