Thank you so much for the holiday. The weather stayed dry albeit at lowish temperatures but the humidity in the air and sunny periods made it possible to walk around and play on the beach for hours. Besides the interior and wonderful view we particularly liked the walk into St Ives along the coastal path. It made it seem as though we were in the Caribbean. And as for the food in St Ives, top notch and good value too.



I hope you get to use this property now and again, the destination is as good as anywhere in the world. I told my 80 year old dad that his inheritance would get put to good use. Christian

Breathtaking!!!

We have just had a family holiday at this property and it is truly amazing !! There were four generations of our family stopping in the property and the Annex and mezzanine provided the younger members with their own space whilst the large open plan was a great area for us to come together for meals and to socialise in the evenings. The house is extremely well equipped with everything from Sky Sports to an array of herbs and spices. We were greeted with a selection of bread, milk, butter and bacon which was very welcome after a long trip. The house is in a great location within walking distance to the beach, St Ives , Tesco's and a number of pubs. Last but not least the views are to die for . Whatever the weather you could sit on that balcony or in that lounge for hours on end and never tire of the spectacular scenery. We will be back!!!

Fantastic house with outstanding views

We rented this wonderful house to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends and family. Outstanding views of Carbis bay from the back of the house . Extremely well equipped with top quality furnishings. Lovely garden with fire pit and bar b q . Steps that lead to a coastal path and beach about 10 minutes - quite steep steps in places. Local welcome pack left which included bacon eggs bread milk and butter. Separate apartment with double bed and shower room and also basement extension with shower room no window in bedroom. Double bedroom on ground floor of main house and also shower room on that floor. First floor master bedroom with double bed with bathroom off that is also shared with other double and single on that floor. Jack and Jill doors to hall. Both master and double have balconies but no outside furniture. Great to wake up to the sunrise.

Hen heaven

Breathtaking! We didn't really need to venture far from the house or want to - the beach was a short walk away, Porthminster Beach Cafe 10 mins along the coastal path on the way to St Ives, Spa on the way to the beach, nothing else really needed. The Hen cried when she opened the front door and saw the amazing view. Good result all around, so much so we will all be back ….

dolphinholme

On entering the house your breath is taken away with the view which extends the whole length of the house. Stunning. The house is ultra modern, very comfortable and well equipped and the unusual arrangement of rooms (the apartment and extension, both of which have their own entrances) suits couples who may wish some privacy. The house overlooks Carbis Bay which is reached by a short walk (mainly steps) from the bottom of the garden. The garden has an inbuilt bonfire area with seating which we used and it was lovely to sit round the fire in the evening and just admire the view. The house is close to the coastal path and 5 minutes (by car) from St Ives which is full of good restaurants, art galleries and shops. Only 2 small niggles - the bedroom in the extension has no windows and the welcome hamper was basic, some local produce would have been welcome. Dolphinholme is a beautiful house in a beautiful location which you feel you are in the midst of. Would love to stay here again. Magical.

St Ives is home to fantastic surfing community, lessons and equipment hire are readily available. St Ives also boasts a thriving Art scene as well, many art shops can be found in the beautiful seaside town of St Ives, which also has an arm of the famous Tate Gallery.

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes walk to the beach at Carbis Bay. 15 minute walk along coastal path into St Ives town centre, or take the train from Carbis Bay station 5 minute walk from the rear garden.

Distances:

The beautiful seaside town of St Ives is a 5 minute drive away, or alternatively you can walk through the rear garden and walk 5 minutes to Carbis Bay railway station, where a little push and pull train will ride along the coastline and deliver you into the centre of St Ives in 10 minutes, so no need for parking! St Ives boasts a branch of the London Tate Gallery and has a vibrant artists and galleries scene, aswell as fantastic restaraunts and bars.

There is a Tesco Supermarket 10 minutes away when walking and 3 minutes away by car,

  • Notes on accommodation: Also please note that the "extension" and "apartment" although physically attached to the house can only be accessed by their own front doors. Both are self contained with lounges TV's, shower and bathroom facilities. The house is only rented out complete, not by the room. Sorry no pets. Outside: Leading out from the open plan living room and enormous patio doors is a large hardwood raised decked area with stunning views of Carbis Bay. Steps lead down to a magical garden of mounds and natural stunning planting. Barbecue is also available, alternatively there is a seated area between the hillock landscaping, where you can light a fire pit and admire an evening view of the bay. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen supplied. Client responsible for cleaning throughout stay. Any extra linen above and beyond 1 weeks supply for beds only, should be requested through our changeover company, and extra cost payed directly to the company. Other: Reception area with 30 ft run windows opening (15ft) on to very large decking area plus BBQ. 5 min walk from garden bottom gate to to beach.
