Villa in Broce, Nr. Ston, Dalmatian Coast, Croatia - Stunning Villa with Sailing Boats
Villa Tereza is a beautiful villa beside the sea, with spectacular views of islands towards Dubrovnik, hills of olive groves across the bay and local boats bobbing in the tiny harbour. The old mill and house have been lovingly restored into an elegant villa furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The walled garden planted with lavender, palm and olive trees is a perfect place for breakfast. It has a stunning terrace where you share the sea and the sky with no one else. It is partly covered by a pergola and tables, chairs, sun loungers and steamers create a wonderful place for eating, sunbathing and sunset drinks! There is a little beach infront of the house to swim and sail the dinghies and a day boat moored alongside to explore the local bays and islands. The villa bikes are an ideal way to cycle by the sea to Ston for shopping, restaurants and cafes.

Wow! Where do I start... I could list all of the standard comments, like, "beautiful inside and out", or "ideally located" or, "way beyond expectations", or a number of other wonderful things to say about our stay. Yes it's peaceful, yes its close to great food and sightseeing, etc., but mainly what our group came away with is that the house was the perfect getaway for us (6 couples). Six bedrooms, 6 bathrooms ... and soundproof... the ultimate in privacy. furnishings and appointments were of the highest quality. I could go on, but suffice to say that I can't imagine a better vacation. 10 stars!
Paradise by the Sea
We stayed at this heavenly villa right by the water on a stunning inlet near the town of Ston, half an hour North of Dubrovnik. The villa is a converted old mill house in the most perfect location for swimming and sailing. It has been renovated to the highest standard and the views are sensational. The villa has been equipped and furnished very luxuriously and all the bedrooms have en suite facilities. The roof terrace is a particularly lovely feature, enabling you to eat and drink al fresco in complete privacy with views across the inlet and out to sea. The owners have gone to such trouble to make the place a home from home with every comfort provided. The villa is extremely well maintained and clean and the pretty walled garden is delightful. Various boats can be rented along with the villa and this allows you to visit the nearby islands and their wonderful restaurants or go into Ston, an old Roman town, with the second longest wall in the world, as well as restaurants and cafes. Broce, where the villa is situated is a charming, sleepy hamlet with an attractive chapel and not much else except views and a beach. You can reach Ston in five minutes by car, cycle or indeed walk if you are feeling more energetic. There is lots to see and do nearby and Dubrovnik is only 30 minutes away. Be sure to visit the aboretum just north of Dubrovnik at Trsteno - it is a gem. Mali Ston, a 10 minute car ride away, is another attractive place to visit and is home to a restaurant run by Croatia's answer to Rick Stein! Like Ston, it also has attractive ruins to visit and several places to eat. We absolutely loved our stay and have stayed in many villas around Europe but none as wonderful as Villa Tereza.
Spectacular place to relax
Villa Tereza is a beautifully restored house on the waterfront at Broce which would have controlled access from Roman times over the river-canal leading to the ancient salt flat at Ston. The ample rooms have been tastefully furnished. Plenty of break out space is topped by the most spectacular roof terrace giving ever changing views of the shoreline upto Ston and south east towards Dubrovnik. It's all about water sports within yards of the house from swimming from the quay and beach to the array of boats to suit every taste giving access to neighbouring islands bars and restaurants.
The historic town of Ston with its walls and old monastery offers a good local market shops bars and restaurants. Mali Ston Is just over the hill with its oyster and mussel farms. Honey and wine is produced in Broce.
