About the property

Villa between Grimaud and Plan de la Tour - Private And Peaceful 3 Miles From The Coast

Situated in an acre of mature gardens at the top of a shady green valley, this spacious and airy Provencal villa has wonderful views over the Gulf of St Tropez. It has been recently renovated with a new kitchen, modern appliances, new furniture and updated bathrooms. The villa has a private pool and a games area in the garden and although not isolated is very private, a car is essential to enjoy the surrounding area. It is equidistant from Plan de la Tour, Ste Maxime and Grimaud where you will find a wide selection of supermarkets and restaurants. It is a short drive from the beaches of Port Grimaud and the local golf courses at St Maxime and Beauvallon and within easy reach of St Tropez. Nice airport is about an hour away by autoroute.

The spacious living foom has four sets of double doors leading to the garden and there is always a breeze coming up the valley - welcome in the heat of the summer. The large and well equipped kitchen/diner is a pleasure to cook in with a wonderful old solid oak table seating 12 people although we tend to eat on the covered terrace with those views of the sea. The bedroom wing has two doubles and two twins and each bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room. Each one is furnished to designer standards and the beds made up with crisp white Egyptian linen.

Outside there is a large gas BBQ so there is no need to visit those wonderful French restaurants, unless you enjoy eating that wonderful French food! The pool area has been decked to provide a lovely rustic setting and the matching pavilion provides shade for those who find the sun a little warm at times. It's also a splendid place to drink that cold rose wine that is grown around here and watch the sun go down over the hill.

There is a large gravelled entrance where several cars can be parked. This year we have just finished building a self contained one-bedroomed villa that sleeps 2-4 people (sofabed in the living room) so if you have more friends or family that you would like to invite, please let me know.

The countryside surrounding the villa is a wonderful place for walking or even running if that is your choice of exercise and you can walk over the hills to Ste Maxime or La Garde-Freinet in a matter of hours. Peter and his daughter, accompanied by Sam-dog have done both walks and there are detailed maps on the shelf in the living room. I stood by with the car in case they needed rescuing!

If sitting on the beach is more your thing then you are spoilt for choice with several wonderful beaches nearby including two at Port Grimaud and of course the famous Pampelone Beach where you can look for stars by night and by day. You can hire a boat locally, with or without a "permis" and bicycles and also available for hire. But in my view, the very best pastime is lying by the pool with a glass of something cold in reach.

There are many wonderful places to visit - Port Grimaud in two minutes or San Remo in Italy in two hours. Last year we visited the Les Gorges du Verdon which is 25 kms long and the deepest canyon in Europe where the views are absolutely breathtaking.

The unique characteristic of the locality is that you can do you as much or little as you feel like, enjoy the bling of those fabulous yachts moored in St Tropez or enjoy the splendid peace and quiet of the valley - or even both.

About The Owner

We purchased this little piece of heaven 8 years' ago and have renovated and improved the property with love and care. We have refurbished the kitchen and all the bathrooms but still have Grand Designs to make it even more stunning. There is an acre of land and having started at the pool area, we are now replanting the garden bed by bed so I think it will keep us happily busy for a long time to come. If we can't be there all the time, we are happy to share our coin de paradis with you and are sure you will love it as much as we do.

Notes on accommodation: We have furnished our villa with quality furnishings – two huge sofas in the living room and charming furniture in keeping with the French style. All the bedrooms have electric fans. The property is fully double glazed with full heating for the winter and a double sided fireplace in the living area. This is a non smoking property. Pets are not permitted. Outside: The property two acres ``of land of which approximately half is fenced and is reached along a sandy lane and a private drive - parking for several cars. Under the covered terrace is a large table with seating for 8 people which is adjacent to the summer kitchen with its large BBQ. There is a shady terrace to the front of the property with a further table seating 8 and a boules (or petanque) pitch. The private 8m x 4m swimming pool is fitted with an alarm system and sits in mature natural gardens of lavender, mimosa and oleander. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Optional bed linen and towels are available to hire at €25 per person (pool/beach towels not provided). Mandatory cleaning charge of €150 each Saturday of your stay.

A perfect holiday in a perfect home

We had a lovely two weeks in what can only be described as a perfect home. The villa made us feel like we were living the lifestyle of multi millionaires, we just can't believe we picked the right setting for a memorable holiday.

I can't congratulate the owners enough for such a superior property, we will definantly be back.

Fabulous holiday Villa in a beautiful setting

Wonderful 2 week stay with friends in such beautiful surroundings. The Villa had everything we could have possibly needed, and was immaculate! The view from the pool Terrace over the bay of St Tropez was simply gorgeous! The villa was very equipped, and the layout was perfect for our 2 families sharing. The fantastic garden with its fig, peach and lemon trees made this home a place we didn't want to leave! Thankyou Paula and Peter for a wonderful stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend such a beautiful Villa!

Fantastic villa, perfect in every way

We had an amazing time at the villa (family of 5), it is exactly what we wanted. The Villa is described here perfectly in every way, the pictures are completely accurate but the Villa is even better in reality. We had a lovely time enjoying the pool eating outside and relaxing. The stunning gardens are very tastefully lit by night creating the ultimate retreat for relaxing outside.

We cooked a lot rather than going out and a lot of effort has been made to provide every possible kitchen utensil and appliance imaginable making this very easy and pleasurable.

The location is stunning and the view of St Tropez is picturesque.

Shops are close by and easy to find, I would recommend the ferry trip to St Tropez from Sainte-Maxime this couldn't be easier.

The owner made every effort to make sure we had all of the information we needed before hand, making everything very easy.

We had a perfect stay!!!!!!!! and would highly recommend!!

Beautiful villa in a wonderful location

We stayed at the villa with our two young children for a week. The villa is in a lovely location with easy access to Plan de la Tour and Sainte Maxine. The location provided lots of opportunities for day trips and meals out. It is also really well located for supermarkets. The owners have a very detailed and useful book on places to visit and where to eat which we used a lot.

The owners were really helpful and provided easy to follow directions to the villa and their property manager came out late to let us in after we were held up in traffic. They also very kindly returned an iPad which had been left behind!

The garden is beautifully manicured and has a great view of St Tropez - we were able to watch the fireworks in St Tropez from the terrace!

The villa was clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with every utensil and piece of cooking apperatus you could possibly need.

We loved it so much we are already planning to come again next year!

Coast/Beach:

The nearby traditional resort of Sainte Maxime has numerous sandy beaches with showers and beach cafes, ideal for young children. Across the bay, St.Tropez village with the super yachts in the port and it's famous Pampellone beach is a must! For the sailors amongst us, Port Grimaud is at the bottom of the hill, Port Cogolin is a little further down the road and the entrance to both harbours can be seen from our terrace.

Travel:

DRIVING--About 1100 kms. from Calais by road. Easy access from the A8 autoroute at Le Muy junction 36. then 20 mins. to the villa. We regularly make this journey with two of us driving in less than 12 hours.

FLYING --- Nice airport 80 kms/75 mins drive with flights by Easyjet/Ryan Air/British Airways/British Midland etc. Marseille airport is 110 kms/90 mins drive with flights by Easyjet/British Airways. Toulon airport (Hyeres) 50 kms/50 minutes.

Distances:

Plan de La Tour, Port Grimaud, and St Maxime are all within 5 kms of the villa. It’s less than 14kms to St. Tropez.

Further Details:

The pretty unspoilt village of Plan de la Tour has many superb restaurants along with small grocery stores, bar, bakeries, tourist office, post office, bank and pharmacy. The local wine cave has a regular Sunday morning wine tasting and there are numerous fetes and village events in the summer. The village has market day on a Thursday and other local markets include Le Muy, St Tropez and Cogolin. My favourite is St Tropez on Tuesday and Saturday – but be there early! The 'Arbre Adventure' and 'Aqualand' are 10 minutes away in St Maxime.
