This stunning family house has been extensively renovated and its original art-deco features enhanced. It sleeps nine and is only yards from the Haven Beach with its golden sands and rock pools. With two large lounges and a games area this is the perfect house for family gatherings and get-togethers of friends. Spectacular sea views can be enjoyed from the first and second floors and both lounges have balconies from which to take the sea air and perhaps indulge in a little alfresco dining. Huge spa bath for the end of a perfect day. We try to provide everything for the most relaxing holiday possible and can even arrange for a company to cook and serve gourmet meals at the house! Pool table, Sky Movies, BT Sport, Netflix, WiFi, games and table football add to the luxury. Excellent golf courses at Seahouses, Bamburgh and Embleton.

Ideal property and location

This was an amazing holiday in a perfect location in a wonderful property. The Art Deco styling is carried right through the house the design of which affords great views over the Farne Islands. The house is also very well equipped for full occupancy. The finishing touches make it a very pleasant place to stay.

A wonderful holiday house!

This was our second stay in this lovely house. We are a family of 5. The house is beautiful, luxurious and in a fantastic location. The owner Helen has thought of everything in providing facilities, utensils and luxury items. The house is very clean with lovely flower arrangements throughout. There is a Jacuzzi bath, pool table, table football and plenty of games to play. We loved the luxurious welcome pack and toiletries. There were plenty of towels for us to use. The location is excellent. Views from the top deck balcony to the Farne Islands were wonderful. The house is close to the beach and there are 2 great pubs for food in the village; Beadnell Towers and Craster Arms. The location is great as you are between Alnwick/ Alnmouth and Seahouses/ Bamburgh which means that there is always plenty to see and do, if you can bear to leave the house. We would definitely recommend this property. We had a superb holiday and we hope to return for a 3rd visit. Thanks again Helen.

Highly recommended!

We are a family of four and stayed in this house with another family of four (so four adults and four children aged between 9 and 12). For us it was the perfect holiday home with plenty of space for everyone and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The layout was great with the bedrooms on the ground floor, main living space (including kitchen and games room on the middle floor) and another living space on the top floor. The children loved the top room, the pool table and all of the board games provided. The adults loved the views and sitting out on the balcony. The house was immaculately clean and very well equipped. The location is also great with the beach straight across the road, views to the Farne islands and the shops and restaurants in Seahouses only a couple of minutes drive away. It's definitely one of the best holidays houses we have stayed in, the owner was very efficient, helpful and easy to communicate with and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering a holiday in the area.

An excellent house for a family reunion

We looked for a property to host four generations, aged from 1 year to 91 years. This property was perfect. With four large ground floor bedrooms, it made it easy for the elderly and young to retire. The upstairs housed the, again, spacious and fully kitted out kitchen with living area and dining area having splendid views towards Seahouses. There was plenty to do in the house for the families, with games, DVD's and free WiFi available. The house was immaculate with everything clean and everything provided. The beach is only two minutes away and is a great place for children to play

The village of Beadnell was also a bonus with two hotels complete with good bars and great foot, but the real bonus was the Salt Water Café that at night turned into an excellent restaurant with fantastic seafood dishes available.

All in all an excellent location and house, making it suitable for all ages. A fantastic holiday! I am happy to give this property five stars. It was a pleasure to stay here.

The Moore's Family Break

A truly magnificent and well equipped home in a perfect location within easy reach of a great beach. This is a perfect place to stay for all age groups with plenty of space for all and a fantastic selection of activities to keep the younger members of the group occupied when the weather was not perfect. I have no hesitation in recommending The Haven and look forward to visiting with my family again!

Girls weekend away

Fantastic very well equipped house with beautiful deco and fresh flowers as well as welcome gifts like coffee, biscuits, honey, sparkling wine and cake, plus butter and milk in the fridge. Beautiful beach within walking distance as well as view of the sea from the house. Beds really comfortable with good quality linen and all toiletries provided.

Special interest holidays:

The house is particularly suitable for large groups and families. The house is so close to the beach and rock pools that the whole week could be spent enjoying these! Its close proximity to Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle and Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Courses make it a marvellous place for golfers to stay. For those interested in birdwatching, walking and cycling the Northumberland Coast is simply perfect and a range of relevant literature is provided in the house. In addition, the information folder in the house gives our suggestions for some local walks.


The Haven beach is directly across the green in front of the house and is a delightful sandy beach with rock pools which are great for catching little crabs and fish! Beadnell Bay has a magnificent 2 mile sweep of golden sands and dunes. The quiet beaches of Annstead Bay to the north of the house can be reached on foot within 10 minutes. Stunning Bamburgh beach and Castle are only 4 miles away. The entire coast is part of the Northumberland Coast AONB and has beautiful coastal scenery.


The nearest airport, Newcastle International, is 40 miles south of Beadnell, while ferries from Amsterdam link North Shields, 45 miles south of the house, to the continent. Beadnell is easily accessible by public transport with main line trains from London stopping at Alnmouth (15 miles) or Berwick (20 miles) and local trains stopping at Chathill (3 miles). The village has regular bus services, which can be picked up directly outside the house, to Newcastle, Berwick, Alnwick and Seahouses.


The nearest small town is Seahouses, about 2 miles away, a bustling seaside resort with a range of shops, restaurants and amusements. Boat trips run regularly from Seahouses harbour to the Farne Islands and to Holy Island in the summer. Alnwick, a larger market town, is only 20 minutes away by car and has a number of supermarkets and a much wider range of shops, as well as the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Berwick, the Scottish Borders and the Cheviot Hills are all within 30 minutes drive.

Beadnell has a small shop, two very good pubs with excellent food (The Beadnell Towers and The Craster Arms), a cafe/bistro, a church and a well-equipped children's playground. Seahouses has a supermarket which stocks a range of organic and fairtrade items, a bank, a good range of pubs, fish and chip shops, two pizzerias, two Indian restaurants and Indian and Chinese take-aways as well as a number of gift shops and typical seaside amusements. The Seafield Ocean Club in Seahouses welcomes non-members to its Health and Beauty Suite for a range of relaxing massages and beauty treatments. Also, its licensed coffee shop serves delicious home-made cakes for that real holiday indulgence. To the North, Bamburgh with its magnificent castle and the Grace Darling Museum is only 5 miles away and the village has its own butcher's shop where you can buy the famous 'Bamburgh Banger', a greengrocer, a delicatessen and quaint coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. South of Beadnell is the huge sweep of Beadnell Bay with its golden sands stretching for over 2 miles. Wonderful for children and the young-at-heart. Part-way round the bay is the Long Nanny bird reserve with a large colony of nesting terns and plovers. Another mile or so brings you to the beautiful National Trust village of Low Newton with Newton Pool Nature Reserve and the famous 'Ship Inn'. Dunstanburgh Castle dominates the views further south, its atmospheric 14th century ruins adding character to an already dramatic coastline. The market town of Alnwick offers a much wider range of amenities including banks, a health centre, as well as supermarkets and a wide range of specialist shops and a market on Thursday and Saturday mornings. A farmers' market is held on the last Friday of every month. The famous Alnwick Castle, most recently renowned for its role in the Harry Potter films, and the award winning Alnwick Gardens offer a splendid day out.

This area is a safe place for children to play and catches the afternoon sun for that holiday barbecue (charcoal supplied!). Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, second fridge/freezer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included, property cleaned, towels and linen changed before start of each holiday.
