Many Kalkan villas advertise that they are “10-15 minutes stroll into the town centre”. Remember that in Kalkan (due to its steep hills) that translates to a 30-minute walk back home, in the heat, normally leading to taxis both ways.... Our Kalkan Old Quarter villa is one minute’s walk away from the shops, restaurants & bars of the Old Quarter of Kalkan. The harbour and beach is just a further 2 or 3 minutes walk. Therefore going out for breakfast, lunch and dinner is simply a short walk away so you won’t require taxis. There are several supermarkets, a small food market and other food shops within a few minutes walk for those who prefer to eat in occasionally.

Old Quater Villa
This villa is in fantastic location, 2 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant and supermarket but in a very quiet area. No need to hire a car. Lovely secluded pool which keeps the sun until late afternoon. Roof terrace with views across the bay. Well furnished inside with WIFI and air conditioning in all the rooms. An ideal villa for up to 5 people and in easy walking distance of the town, marina, shops, restaurants and beach, which is rare in Kalkan. The owner is very contactable and helpful and is keen that his guests have a great holiday.
A hidden gem
We have just spent two weeks at old quarter villa, we have stayed in beautiful places all over the world but we have to say this was one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen. The villa was spotlessly clean and a good welcome pack on arrival. The transfers were really efficient and Kay gave us lots of recommendations for Kalkan. The villa is so ideally situated everything is two minutes away, yet the villa is so peaceful. The pool was cleaned everyday. When booking Simon the owner was helpful and efficient, nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be back to the villa and would recommend to anyone. Amand and Simon

Would highly recommend old Quarter. It has a lovely pool with stunning views from the pool area and roof top. Very clean and everythung you need is there and just a few mins walk from the supermarket and Kalkan old town. Would love to stay here again :)
Perfect location - very central but quiet
Villa was great for our family of 4 adults. Location was ideal - quiet but just minutes away from centre. No moans from kids about having to climb up Kalkan's hills after a night out! Villa well equipped and aircon was very efficient. Agents were invisible as you want but responded very quickly to a couple of small issues we had and owner was very friendly and communicative. In short highly recommended.
Fabulous luxury villa in a perfect location
Beautiful villa, equipped with everything you could want. We had a lovely week here with two 14 year olds, having stayed elsewhere in Kalkan before we loved being so close to the centre and not needing a single taxi trip. The pool was fabulous, the air conditioning invaluable and there was a marvellous indexed collection of DVDs and a great selection of books too. Loved the styling and the beds and sofas were really comfortable, plentiful hot water and the villa was immaculately clean. We had very efficient transfers arranged for us and really appreciated the initial provisions pack when arriving late at night. It was also great to have towels, hand soap, loo rolls provided - felt positively up market and luxurious in comparison to other villa's we've rented before. We had a great week and are planning to return next year - something we've never done before - but we don't feel we can improve on this lovely villa :-)
Having stayed in Kalkan 6 or 7 times we were amazed to find such a gem complete with pool, that is two streets from the centre of town and somewhere where you don't need taxis to take you home at night!!! Although the house is in the centre it's quiet and situated at the end of a street. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay, ans as other reviewers mention the outside space is not huge, but how much room do you need laying on a sunlounger?? Fabulous views from the pool and roof terrace and the staff at Alternatif are very friendly and helpful if you need them! Will be back, maybe even a sneaky late week later this year 😎

3 minutes walk to Kalkan harbour + beach
The brand new international airport Terminal at Dalaman was completed in August 2006 and provides a modern efficient gateway into Turkey's south western Mediterranean coast. Flights depart from all over the UK all year round, although winter flights generally depart from the UK's major airports only. The flight time is around 3 hours 45 mins and the route is served by many charter and scheduled airlines.
The nearest town is Kas, a 30km/30 min drive. Kas is worth visiting just for the stunning scenery on the coastal road. Fethiye, renown for its famous Olu Deniz beach, is 50 mins drive away and has a bustling market, busy harbour and fish restaurants. Many historical sites are within a 45 minute drive of Kalkan including Xanthos, Tlos, and Pinara. Other places of interest are Saklikent Gorge and traditional villages of Bezirgan and Islamlar just a short drive up into the cool Taurus Mountains.
Kalkan's post office for currency exchange, the restaurants and shops are all within 3 mins walk. Kalkan has several major Turkish banks all with cash machines accepting most UK cards. Internet cafes/Wi-Fi access and phone shops are available to stay in touch with home. There are English speaking doctors, chemists and a dentist if required. Kalkan is transformed at night. It begins to bustle at dusk and there is excitement in the air, the delicious smell of food being prepared. Kalkan is famous for its fine dining and outstanding service in some of the most beautiful roof terrace and harbourside restaurants, most of which have incredible views over the bay. Kalkan has well over 100 restaurants, more than everywhere else on the Turkish coast per inhabitant, which makes for incredible choice, quality and outstanding value. Restaurants serve everything from Traditional Turkish meals to International Cuisine. Meals are often lingered over for hours in the refreshing evening air finishing after midnight. After dark the old town really comes alive. There are jazz and other live music bars, and several disco bars if you want to party late. Or maybe you might prefer to listen to a violin recital at the harbour side, or enjoy a Turkish night with music and belly dancing. The streets are busy with shoppers in the evening, and shops stay open until at least midnight selling some beautiful hand crafted carpets, intricately decorated ceramics and gold and silver jewellery sold by weight. Several Tailors are ready to make made-to-measure suits from Excellent Turkish cloth, and high fashion boutiques offer the latest in designer fashion.

Kalkan Old Quarter Villa can be reserved for a non-refundable deposit of £200 per week’s booking with the balance remaining, due at least one month prior to the start of your holiday. There is a minimum of 7 nights rental. The price includes the complete villa rental for up to 5 people. A damage deposit of £250 will be required at the time of paying the final balance to cover any breakages or damage. We can hold dates for 48 hours in order for you to find and book your flights.
We are flexible on changeover days, subject to availability and a minimum of 7 nights rental.
