Cortijo near Montefrio, Granada, Andalucia - Peaceful Location, 5 Mins From Town, Nearby (5 Mins by car) Tapas Bars And Restaurants, No Smoking

Dos Robles is a homely,family cortijo set in its own secure and private grounds, easily accessible and only 4km from the beautiful and historic town of montefrio. The entrance opens into a lounge tv room with log burning stove. The kitchen is equipped with hob, oven, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and tostada machine. Off the kitchen there is a dining room with seating for 6 persons with views through french doors towards the terrace and beyond. Off the living area is the master bedroom complete with en-suite, a twin bedded room and along a short corridor is the newly refurbished bathroom and the second double bedroom. Keen birdwatchers will be delighted with the visiting swifts and swallows swooping down for a drink at the pool in late afternoon and the joyful sound of the "hoop-hoop" bird. Stargazers will be enthralled at the clear night sky with little ambient light to spoil the view. Hill walkers can walk up behind the cortijo to the "penas", a rugged escarpment with stunning views of the valley floor, or for the more adventurous climb Parapanda.

Vic, Joan from Scotland, bought Dos Robles in early 2007 after a lengthy search for an ideal location which enjoys great views, privacy and yet close to Montefrio.

Our long time friend Alan (also a Scot) has lived with his wife Nora in Montefrio for 10 years and is responsible for us deciding to buy here.

The town of Montefrio is a lovely working country town with loads of character.

Churches, ruins, olive groves, bars and restaurants etc all worth exploring and give you a true taste of the Real Rural Spain.

Why V Flett chose Granada Province (Costa Tropical)

We love this area as it manages to maintain its own independence and traditional values. Far removed from the hustle and bustle on the coast. Yet only a 5 min drive into town.

Definitely no Timeshare Touts here!

THE population of around 4000 are largely dependent on the olive harvest and tourism, you need to at least try to "hablar Español" (they will really appreciate it) yet we are less than an hours drive to the cosmopolitan delights of Granada, with the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains nearby.

What makes this farmhouse unique

If you want to experience the real Spain then look no further.

Perfect tapas all made from locally harvested olive oil, ham and cheese make this an ideal setting with stunning views(depending on which bar you have settled in) to sample the local fare at very reasonable cost.

No inflated Costa prices either.

The Spanish like to Fiesta and Fiesta they do well, for all ages and extended families alike can be seen enjoying the festivities until the wee wee hours

Just wanted to send you a message to say that we had a fantastic time in Montefrio. It was such a good pool for playing volleyball and we really enjoyed the table tennis. The view across the valley both during the day and at night were memorable - my daughter saw her first shooting stars and the full moon and the orange moon were stunning. Montefrio itself was such a nice place too and we found the people so friendly. August 2010.

Just wanted to say we really enjoyed staying at your place and maybe book again for September. TIm and Pen.

We were in your Cortijo 'Los dos roblès' from 04 to 11 august this summer 2012 and I wanted to say that we really enjoyed staying in your house. The site is very quiet, the view is very beautiful and the house homely.Thank you. May be will come back to Montefrio with friends

Great location surrounded by olive groves, clean, tidy, amazing views, refreshing pool!

Great place to escape to. Plenty of space in the villa that stayed cool even in the baking heat of the mid August sun. Well equipped, and only a few km from the middle of lovely Montefrio.

Enjoyed day trips to explore the countryside taking in several superb castles, and a day trip to Granada and the Alhambra.

Car essential for this location.

The pool was excellent, cleaned and treated regularly, and used for many hours of every day.

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit....would return tomorrow!

Stupendous view!

The place is quiet and remote. We loved the pool a lot. The house is clean and lovely.

It's only 45 minutes from Granada.

Everything is perfect, but you might find a drawback that there is no wifi or no dishwasher.

Great holliday in nice quiet location

Had a great holiday at Montifreo. great pool and villa.

Alan met us at Montefrio and we followed him for about 4 miles to villa.

Car definately reqd.

Would highly recommend.

Notes on accommodation: The Cortijo is of old thick wall construction which stays nice and cool in the hot summer months. The property is fenced around the perimeter making it ideal for the young ones and the pool can be closed off with its own gate to save mishaps. Poolside loungers, Lilos, chairs and a parasol to offer shade are provided. Table Tennis, Badminton for pool use. There is a ceiling fan in the lounge and 2 portable fans for use in the other rooms if needed. The other building seen in some of the photographs is part of my property. It is a garage/storeroom for logs etc. Outside: A large patio area is in front of the house offering stunning views of the Parapanda mountain and the valley floor. a large family table (seats 8 easily) on the patio is ideal for those get togethers in the late afternoon/evening while the oak tree offers some welcome shade. A new dining table and 6 chairs under a canopy has been added in front of the house for more convenient outdoor dining. The private non heated swimming pool 7m x 5m offers a refreshing dip after perhaps too long in the sun. It is 1.3m to 1.7m deep with steps at one end. Poolside Loungers , table, chairs and parasol are also provided. Utility Room: Mops, Brooms, Vacuum cleaner, Patio Chairs Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen provided. Property cleaned at changeover day (weekly). maid service can be arranged if required. Other: This is a no smoking let but you are welcome to smoke outdoors of course. Portable Fans are provided for use in the bedrooms if needed.
