20 minutes from Paphos International Airport, situated in a quiet residential area equidistant from Paphos Harbour and Coral Bay, you will find Villa Kalandia.

Villa Kalandia is a luxury villa that accommodates 6 to 9 people.

It has 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin; a double futon bed in the lounge area and a single futon bed in the twin room (with option to move). Each room has access to a balcony via patio doors. Hair dryers are provided in all bedrooms.

The master bedroom has en-suite facilities. There is a family bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom.

The ground floor is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen that includes a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.

The living area has a dining table which extends to seat 12 people. There is a lounge suite, TV with android viewing, DVD and CD/Cassette/Radio.

FREE child facilities include cot, high chair, two stair safety gates, cot linen, infant toilet seat, cutlery and plastic cups and plates

The villa is fully air conditioned for the comfort of our guests during the summer months, converting to a heating system during the cooler season, complemented by an open log fire. Additionally, ceiling fans are installed in all rooms.

The colourful, mature garden consists of a beautiful pool that is bathed in sunshine all day and is surrounded by a terrace containing sun beds, tables, parasols and BBQ. After watching a beautiful sunset, the garden and pool are fully lit for a romantic evening.

The Villa is a non-smoking establishment, although ashtrays are provided, for guests wishing to smoke outside.

Linen, house and pool towels are included. The pool is cleaned twice weekly to ensure safe bathing.

There is no preferred changeover day.

Arrival and departure times are 4pm and 10am respectively. However, should no other guests be arriving or leaving the Villa on your dates, then the times would be flexible at no additional cost. We will confirm these details closer to your holiday.

We recommend car hire, or alternatively, the local taxi firm that we recommend are always available to take you to the shops, beach, restaurants or local attractions. They will collect very promptly from the villa or your choice of venue. They are also bookable in advance. There is a timetabled bus service into Paphos which runs approximately every two hours.

Emba and its surrounding area.

The villa is situated in a small quiet close in a residential area in the village of Emba.

The local supermarket stocks a full range of products, from local produce to Heinz Beans! Adjacent to the supermarket are several food outlets selling traditional Cypriot food, fresh fish and a bakery. There are local Tavernas within walking distance. The surrounding villages of Lempa, Chlorakas and Kissonerga also have a variety of local restaurants.

Coral Bay is a few minutes’ drive away. Its high street is full of bars and restaurants. It has a character of its own and is full of life. A few minutes’ drive further on, leads you to the sandy beach and water sports.

Paphos main town and harbour are in the opposite direction, where facilities are abundant. There are two contrasting areas, The Harbour - with its many restaurants or Bar Street - for club land and bars.

Places to visit and activities

The island has something to offer all ages and tastes.

The Troodos Mountains; for skiing in the winter and sightseeing and walking in the summer. There are many vineyards on the slopes where you can sample a variety of local wines and purchase at very reasonable prices.

Day excursions are plentiful - jeep safaris to Troodos or the Akamas Peninsular, day/sunset cruises, fishing trips and guided walks.

If more lively activities are preferred, jet skis, paragliding, water skiing, scuba diving. Go-karting, golf, cycling and horse riding are all close by, as well as a water park.

The established family coastal path is ideal for walking, jogging, cycling and blading.

There are many historic places to visit - The Mosaics, Tombs of the Kings, Baths of Aphrodite and the Kykko Monastery, just to name a few.

About Jayne & John Ward

We are a small letting agency, based in Kent, which has been established for the past twenty years, providing accommodation to students attending the local university. We purchased Villa Kalandia twelve years ago as a family holiday retreat; but is also available for long and short term lets throughout the year. Our aim is to provide, with the support of our English management team in Paphos, a first class holiday experience.

Villa Kalandia has the benefit of a quiet rural setting with a private garden and pool. We have an English management team who are contactable from the point of your arrival in Cyprus. They are on hand to support you with any queries you may have throughout your stay. We use a very helpful local Taxi firm and Car Hire company who are familiar with the area and know Villa Kalandia very well.

This is the second time we have rented this villa. As before, it was an excellent stay. The villa has everything and is finished to a very high standard. The town of Emba has a very good restaurant next to the church and there is a supermarket selling almost everything within 10 minutes. The car rental recommended (Elephant Rentals) is much better and cheaper than the Airport - based Hertz and Avis. They will deliver and pick up at your door or airport (or both). We had a new Nissan Note for a week at about 100 Euros. They have a fleet of 32 cars. The weather in late March was perfect.

  • The spacious bedrooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. Patio doors with child locks lead onto balconies. The rooms have fitted wardrobes. Hair dryers, bed linen and towels (house and beach) are provided in each room. A cot is available for our younger guests. A single and double futon completes the sleeping arrangements. The cot and single futon can be moved to accommodate guests sleeping requirements. Weekly bed linen and towel change.

Notes on accommodation: Hair dryers are provided in all bedrooms along with a safe deposit box in the master bedroom. All rooms are air-conditioned, which, in the cooler months, convert to warm air heaters. Ceiling fans in all rooms. Outside: The colourful, mature garden consists of a beautiful pool 8 x 4m which is bathed in sunshine all day and surrounded by a terrace containing sun beds, tables, parasols and stone built charcoal BBQ. After watching a beautiful sunset, the garden and pool are fully lit for a romantic evening. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen is provided along with house and beach towels. All changed on a weekly basis. Pool cleaned twice weekly and the garden is regularly maintained.

Excellent Preoprty

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Kalandia. The house had everything we needed, the pool was lovely and very welcome in the hot weather. We also very much appreciated the excellent welcome pack there for us on our late evening arrival. Owners John and Jayne were extremely helpful and attentive, and we particularly appreciated being able to stay on in the house until 8 in the evening at no extra cost, as we had a late flight. The house is in a quiet location in the outskirts of Emba village, but also not far from Pafos. We had a hired car, from Elephant Rent a Car, recommended by John and Jayne, which was fine and reasonably priced. They will also deliver to the house in the morning - very useful to avoid trying to find the house in the dark if you have an evening arrival. I would say a hire car is pretty much essential if you want to get around without relying on taxis or public transport. All in all, an excellent stay, and thanks again to owners John and Jane.

Fantastic holiday!!!!!

We have recently returned from yet another fabulous holiday at villa kalandia in Cyprus. We cannot recommend this property enough! It has all your essential needs and if there are any problems, the guys out there will come out to you and sort it straight away. The pool is brilliant and we all loved it. We can't wait to revisit as soon as possible. Thank you John and Jayne for allowing us to enjoy the beauty of your villa and Cyprus all in one.

Property was as advertised and was presented in good and clean condition.

Was in a quiet area which was difficult to find on arrival however, everything was presented in a good clean condition and was equipped with everything that we needed. The pool and surrounding area was very clean though the youngest were not in good condition though they were changed during our time there.

We had a fantastic holiday at the villa which has everything provided including a cot, highchair and safety gates for families, pool Inflatables, indoor games in fact everything to enable you to fly with hand luggage only if you wish.

Lovely villa great holiday

The villa is lovely and really spacious. The open plan downstairs is great and the equipment available is great. Lots of towels provided ( this was a first for us) and the baby facilities were fab. I would definitely recommend a stay here - really quiet and relaxong. We had no problems at all and woild like to thank Jayne and John for making booking our holiday so easy.

Villa Kilandria is a well appointed property, having stayed in Cyprus many times and used a number of villa's, Villa Kilandria is up there with the best of them.

Quiet, well appointed, comfortable and if all three bedrooms were occupied it wouldn't feel crowded. A nice pool to cool off in and the sun shines onto the pool area well into the afternoon. Supermarket is a short drive away, a car is needed, you'll find everything you need there. There are restaurants near by or a short drive will take you to Paphos or Coral Bay where your spoilt for choice.

The villa is clean and well maintained and we would certainly recommend the property to other family members .

John and Jayne Ward could not have been more helpful or understanding when we had to change our travel plans at the last minute due to a family illness.

Will we be back?. Yes we certainly will.

Golf: On offer in Cyprus are several challenging, world class golf courses, warm hospitality and practically all year round sunshine. Golf was popularised in Cyprus in the late 1990s, so it is a relatively new sport to the country. The Cyprus Golf Federation was established in 2000, its main objective to promote and manage amateur golf on the island. The golf courses on Cyprus are clustered around the popular tourist areas of Paphos and Larnaca, in beautiful valley and hillside locations.

The Tsada Golf Club can lay claim to being the first grass golf course built in Cyprus. Completed in 1994, it is located 20 minutes from Paphos and is elevated 550m above sea level, ensuring a calming cool breeze during the warm summer months.

The Aphrodite Hills Golf Club is located near Paphos in Cyprus, overlooking the Mediterranean, taking its name from the birthplace of Aphrodite, which it overlooks. Aphrodite Hills has been described as an award winning 18 hole championship golf course and academy.

The Secret Valley Golf Club is probably the most prestigious golf course in Cyprus, located in the famous area of Petra tou Romiou, the birthplace of Aphrodite, 18 km east of Paphos and 49 km west of Limassol.

Ski: The Cyprus Ski Club was created on March 2, 1947 and since then it has a leading role in the development of skiing on the island. The first lift was built and operated on the eastern face of Mt Olympus using primitive equipment, while a second lift was built in 1951 near the 'Dolphin' restaurant, to the west of Troodos Square (the remnants of this lift, which was powered by the engine of a Ford truck, can still be seen).

After the independence of Cyprus in 1960, the Ski Club developed into its modern form, with a ski Federation under the auspices of the FIS, and four regional clubs (Nicosia, Limassol, Troodos, and Famagusta) competing in various skiing competitions. Until 1968, mobile lifts operated by the British Army were used, but in 1968 the first lift owned by the CSC was built at Sun Valley 1.
