I am a Freelance Production Manager working mainly in London's West End. My wife and I fell in love with this property when we rented it for a holiday in 2003 and on finding that it was for sale - bought it!

We spend as much time as we can at the villa but my work load means that we have long periods when we are "stuck in London."

Superb accommodation in a beautiful setting

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay @ Finca Rustica.

Over the past 15 years we have stayed in various properties in this area.

This is the bet yet.

The villa, location, pool & views are superb.

Total peace & quiet ensures a relaxing break.

The Pueblo is only 10 minutes drive. Well worth a visit.

Similar distance to the lovely quiet Penoncillo beach.

The temperature during our stay was very hot & the pool was a must.

The villa has everything you need & is very traditional.

Thanks to Derek . On hand for anything you may need.

Would certainly recommend this property if you want to experience the real Spain.

A hidden oasis

Wow! What a place, totally private and peaceful, comfortable bed and a great nights sleep. The English channels on the tv were great at night just to catch up on the news, that's the only time they were turned on, the rest of the time we were outside enjoying the stunning views down to the sea, it is a regular little suntrap. We went into Torrox Costa and got some charcoal and crevettes for the barbeque, brilliant. Torrox is a lovely town and we found a great bar on the beach in Torre Del Mar, the Finca is a great place to explore the area from, we went to the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada in one day, fantastic! We really did not want to go home, we had seven days in early April and it was only cloudy one day and was very hot the rest, can't wait for our next visit, thankyou Derek and Stewart for all your help, and thankyou Derek for sharing your beautiful home with us, will be back soon!

Tranquil and secluded

What a fantastic property! Very secluded with fantastic views of the sea and surrounding countryside and a lovely pool. The villa has all the amenities you need so there is no need to stray far and you can have a totally chilled out holiday.

The road up to the villa is a little hairy the first time but you soon get used to it and it is so worth it. The property seems to get the sun all day until it disappears behind the hilltops and is surrounded by lovely plants and fruiting trees.

Torrox Pueblo is only a 10 minute drive and Torrox Costa not much further. An ideal base for either doing nothing or visiting places.

Highly recommended. We will return!

Wonderful finca, wonderful holiday

We've really enjoyed our 2 weeks at Finca Rustica. The villa is well equipped for our family of mum, dad, and 2 teenage daughters - including sharp knives and plenty of good cooking utensils. The pool has been such a godsend and we've all used it at least once a day to cool off. And the area has so much to offer - I never knew that the Costa del Sol could be so good. Beautiful beaches, diving, snorkelling, sea kayaking, interesting local markets, wonderful cities nearby such as Malaga and Granada, plus some gorgeous local villages including Torrox itself. And the people are so friendly. We're going home wonderfully relaxed and sad to be leaving such a home from home.

A very good homely retreat with wonderful views

We had a marvellous time enjoying our months stay at a very good home from home holiday retreat with stunning views. The little balcony overlooking the hills and sea gave a much needed breeze on the hot days. The villa is clean and tidy and equipped with more or less anything that you would use at home, the beds are comfy, the much needed air con a welcome on those hot nights and the pool and patios great. I would have liked Roman steps into the pool as it is more difficult to go in and out as you become less mobile but this has not deterred us from already booking are next months holiday in 2016. If you need any help with anything whist there you are safe in the knowledge that Derek, Elaine or Eric are only a phone call away. The area is rural and rugged with the charming village and picturesque coast only minutes away, lovely beach front restaurants and sun-beds for during the day and for a more dressed up night time meal El Figon restaurant in the village hits the spot (Booking required) If you want to dip back into your pre-holiday life you can find most shops and amenities, even a Lidl, (Nearby but not too near) Our flights are already booked looking forward to 2016.

Lovely villa, family friendly, great view

The villa was simply lovely. It's in a beautiful place, surrounded by flowers, almond trees and figs and feels very secluded and private, especially around the pool. Each room has air conditioning (a must-have), there is a gorgeous pool outside, along with a brick barbecue and stunning views down to the sea, perfect for sitting with a drink in the evening.

Every day there was a holiday on its own, and we had to drag ourselves out to see things. On which note, it's about 10 minutes drive from the beach at Torrox Costa, where we rented loungers to soak up sun and dry off from swimming in the sea. (Renting loungers at around €10/day/chair gives you access to table service from the associated bar, a shower and child-friendly loos.) When peckish, we were stuck for choice with fresh fish grilling outside so many nice looking restaurants.

We are a family with two pre-teen girls and were not looking for night life, but were pleased to be so close (5 mins?) drive from Torrox Pueblo for the market (great food), lunches (great bars) and stunning scenery - the village is built on the slopes of the hill, with winding stairs and paths past a beautiful church and past houses tiled with Moorish mosaic patterns.

Back to the villa, there is an outside table which has a two-section canopy roof to block sun, around which we ate most meals, bolstered by the anti-bug candles supplied by the owner and previous tenants. Inside, there is a printer, stereo, TV, disc players and broadband, as well as home appliances and dishes, pans, glasses and everything you need. The photos on the site didn't really do it justice - it is light, cool and spacious.

Everything you need in a villa is there, and on-site support from two friendly ex-pat Brits is a phone call away. The pool is cleaned and topped up twice a week by Eric, who also does a sterling job in all circumstances, as well as providing local info on where to buy bread on Sundays, and other tricky things :-)

We drove to see the Alhambra (buy tickets online in advance!) easily enough - it takes about an hour and a half on smooth, modern motorways which take you past breath taking scenery. On roads, the drive up to the villa is typical to the region - winding and a little rough in places, but easily managed in our rented Touran.

There is everything you could wish for, and leaving was a blow. We still (6+ months later) still talk about that holiday above others and want to go back.

It felt like staying in a friend's house!

The property is in a secluded area and very quiet and peaceful. Access to shopping and entertainment is easy although a car is required- or motor bike! It is possible to walk to Torrox, going is easy but coming back is uphill.

Eroski, a 15 minute drive, has a large shopping mall. Banking is fairly easy, but a bit limited in opening times, though most banks have automated cash facilities.
