About the property

This is a superb period cottage with an eclectic mixture of influences and a warm intimate feeling. Derwin is an 18th century longhouse with a large farmhouse kitchen and an oil fired aga. It has a spacious lounge with a log burning stove. LLys Derwin is a fine example of an Elizabethan farmhouse restored to preserve all its original features. With inglenook fireplace, stone circular staircase, oak panelling and leaded windows. Recently dated dendrochronologiaca at C 1543. Both have enclosed spacious gardens which are secure for dogs.

Comfortable, beautiful, welcoming and dog friendly

  • 5 of 5

We had a very happy week at Derwen Cottage. The aga and woodburner kept us really cosy, and the whole cottage was very comfortable and very well equipped. We loved the quirky and eclectic design and styling that has clearly benefited from a lot of care and attention to detail. In spite of being right next door to owners home the cottage felt completely private. Having said that Mari was at hand when extra fuel was needed. We were welcomed with a bottle of v nice wine, Christmas cake, mince pies, fresh fruit and flowers and a Christmas tree. Oh and Christmas crackers! We had a lovely new years eve and just stayed in a lot during the week we were there, just reading and snoozing in front of the fire! When we ventured out we loved walking the Miners Track up Snowdon and the amazing Cwm Idwal circular route. Black Rock Sands was also stunning. Being able to have our dog stay with us to enjoy it all made it a perfect home from home for us.

Recommend.
