Le Petit Champiau

1 double room upstairs. The large open-plan salon and kitchen/diner opens out to the terrace and gardens at the rear. A further smaller salon leads to the bathroom. Connecting doors lead to the larger gite next door to allow larger groups to book together.

Situated in a quiet hamlet in deepest central France, only 2kms to the nearest bar/cafe and only 5 kms to the nearest small town with all the usual facilities. The gite offers tranquil surroundings in which to relax and enjoy the countryside. Spend the day listening to birdsong, and the evening watching the stars. Le grand Champiau and le petit Champiau have connecting doors so can be booked together for groups up to 8.

Nearest small town, Le Chatelet, is 5 kms away, which has a supermarket, plus other services, including doctor and dentist. Nearest larger town is St Amand-Montrond, which is approx 25 kms away, which has pretty much everything!

Cycling, fishing (private river trout fishing and carp fishing in public lakes can be arranged), and bird-watching are all popular pursuits in the area.

  • Notes on accommodation: Both gites have private terraces for outside dining and relaxing. They also have wood-burning stoves and electric radiators for the cooler months. They also have child gates at each staircase, and smoke detectors throughout. The pool is security fenced. Outside: Both gites are provided with wooden garden furniture, barbecues and loungers. The pool (approx 7x5m figure of 8-shape) is fenced and is unheated. The pool area is in a separate part of the garden, away from the gites themselves.
