Magnificent Greenwich Park, venue for the Olympic equestrian competition is within a few minute walk. Being located only a short stroll from the River Thames with its river taxis, and only seconds from Greenwich Dockland Light Railway and over ground train station, makes for easy and quick access to London’s centre. London Bridge is 7 minutes and Charing Cross for the West End is 17 minutes away. Docklands and the Jubilee Underground connection can be reached in minutes using the DLR. All bed linen and towels are provided. Two supermarkets and many restaurants are only a short stroll away.

About the Owner

We, Laurence, Christina and Anna, our daughter live in Kent, just one hours drive from London. We speak English and German. We live in the Kent countryside but did live in London, a city we adore. In 2009 we decided that our holiday home had to be in London, and in one of London's special places. Our stylish one-bedroom apartment is just 5 minutes walk from the centre of historic Greenwich and under one minute's walk to Greenwich DLR station. Maritime history, the famous market, great transport options to other parts of London by rail or riverboat all on the doorstep. Furnished with bespoke modern design the apartment can sleep up to three persons as the living room has a double sofa bed.

To stay here for four weeks in this very comfortable and well appointed apartment, has been a delight! The excellent situation to transport , shops and places of interest has been so helpful.

To return here after a busy day of sight seeing is so relaxing and welcoming.

Perfect home away from home

This flat is exactly as described, and more. Clean, well appointed, great location near to the town centre and shops, steps to the trains, quiet and secure building. We were met by a member of the property management team and given a tour and orientation.There was a bottle of bubbly, strawberries and a huge vase of flowers to greet us. Very modern and homey with great artwork.The pull-out in the living room was comfortable, even for our 6'4" son. The owners were very friendly, prompt and helpful in replying to our request.

Greenwich is a great area with lots to see and do, but minutes away from downtown London by train. We were happy to come "home" after loud and busy days in London. A great find for us was the M&S Food store near the Cutty Sark train station - great variety of pre-packed fresh food, salads, veg, full dinners etc., which were very convenient, nutritious and delicious. Also 2 small grocery stores a few blocks away, and a convenience store (TP, snacks, liquor) just down the walk.

We would stay here again, without question, if and when we return to London.

Great property fantastic location

The property was in a great location opposite the Greenwich DLR, easy to get into Central London and all the sightseeing, you can use the river as well. Great shopping nearby for all your food needs including the Greenwich market on a Saturday. The flat itself is comfortable with lovely touches, art on the walls actually the owners own work. A very mixed neighborhood but quiet. We throughly enjoyed our stay, the welcome flowers and bottle of bubbly were a lovely touch. There is a small quick shop on the ground floor which carries drinks including beer and wine.

Would recommend to older couples especially. The owners and their agent were accessible at all times before and during our stay.

Styl and location

This was our second visit to Christina and Laurence’s attractive flat in Greenwich. Each time we have stayed for a month or two and can recommend it to visitors from overseas such as Australia.

On arrival we were met by Laurence, who showed us around the beautifully appointed apartment. A nice touch is the bottle of sparkling wine, a lovely vase of flowers and fruit. The flat is comfortable and decorated in a tasteful modern style including some of the owner’s own works of art.

The main reason for our return visit to the same flat was its terrific location and the proximity of so many interesting historical and architectural gems. Greenwich caters for a lot of tourists but the flat is just a few hundred meters distant from most of the tourist throngs. However, it is still only a few minutes walk to major attractions like the Cutty Sark, the Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and the wonderful Greenwich Park.

The Docklands Light Railway and overland rail services pull up almost at the front door so its only a few stops to Canary Warf, the City or trendy Shoreditch and Brick Lane, or on the overland, London Bridge station. We made full use of all of these and of the many interesting riverside pubs nearby. Our favourites were the Trafalgar and Cutty Sark pubs on the river and also the Mitre, only a few steps away from the flat, past some charming Edwardian terraces. Over the river on the Isle of Dogs is the Gun, one of the gastro pubs serving high class cuisine. Of course the whole area is packed with all manner of eateries. After spending each day exploring the local and more distant places of interest it was a pleasure to return to the comfort of the apartment, put the feet up and contemplate the evening meal!

Highly recommended

The apartment has to be highly recommended,just a short walk into greenwich and excellent rail links into London via the DLR and tube.The apartment is immaculately clean ,comfortable and well equipped.Greenwich itself has much to explore and is certainly quieter than central London,with plenty of restaurants,and small supermarkets if you want to self cater.The owner met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful.The bottle of wine,orange juice ,grapes and fresh flowers was a nice bonus.We would certainly stay again.

Greenwich apartment

We have stayed here twice because we like it so much. The listing is accurate, the property is very clean and easy to maintain. For two people it feels spacious and comfortable with good storage. The owners provided excellent, friendly service. They are immediately accessible by phone and called round and provided full and honest advice when needed. The surrounding area is quiet and safe. It is a short, quite pretty walk to the very beautiful, absolutely world class features Greenwich itself with its many fascinating walks, activities and sights. There appeared to be a wide range of good eating places but we prefer to cook for ourselves and this was very well catered for. A key advantage for us is how close the apartment is to a rapid, frequent train service to central London.

Travel:

City airport is some 25 minutes away by train/DLR or road. Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports are all within 90 minutes by public transport. t. Pancrass International Station can be reached within 45 minutes by tube/DLR. Local transport links include DLR and train stations just seconds from the apartment, nearby bus stops and Thames River taxi services.

Distances:

Journey times from Greenwich the local DLR station (under 1 min walk away), to London Bridge (1 stop) 7 mins for Tate Modern, HMS Belfast, Borough Market, Globe Theatre. Charing Cross (3 stops) 17 mins for Nelsons Column, National Portrait Gallery, The Strand/ Covent Garden, No 10 Downing Street, Leicester Square. Canary Wharf (4 stops) 8 mins for many fantastic shops and dockside attractions. The O2 Arena 15 mins via public transport.

Further Details:

A day pass can be bought on the Thames river boat which means you can travel to many of the tourist sites by river. Walk the Thames foot tunnel across to Canary Wharf or take a 7 minute train ride to London Bridge and walk along the Thames Foot path past many tourist attractions such as HMS Belfast, the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern up to the London Eye.
