It's a charming mixture of Georgian and Victorian architecture, with a really homely feel...perfect to come back and relax in after a day at the beach, or exploring the nearby pleasures of Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Margate, Sandwich, Deal, Canterbury etc. The cottage boasts off-street parking for up to three vehicles, a large kitchen/diner with all facilities for self-catering, a beautiful lounge area with entertainment hub, an inspiring sun-room (perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee), a south-facing courtyard garden (for a summer evening bbq), utility/ w.c. room, 3 good-sized double bedrooms and bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The cottage is kept to a high standard of interior design. A perfect Kent retreat.

Very spacious and well-equipped house, lovely welcome basket on arrival

No real complaints but you can tell it's a man's house!! We suggested one or two additions in the visitors book which would make it more attractive to females. We thought they would have been better getting rid of the front garden and creating a turning space for cars - the road is very busy and it's hard to reverse into and out of because of all the traffic - but we managed. Apart from this it was a delightful place to stay. We loved the sun room and the private patio , the beds were lovely and comfortable and there was plenty to occupy us if it had rained all week - which it didn't, thank goodness. Would definitely stay there again

Loved the house. Loved the decoration!

Enjoyable stay in a comfy, well-appointed home

We really enjoyed our stay at Limetree Cottage. The facilities were excellent, and the house very comfortable and spacious. It was welcoming to arrive in the evening to find lights on, and the Christmas tree made it feel special and festive. A well appointed, tasteful and homely property that we would thoroughly recommend.

Beautifully presented jewel in St Peter's crown

Lovely to walk into the reception hall and find a lit Christmas Tree with soft lighting greeting us in the kitchen. The kitchen was lovely, well equipped and spacious, beautifully presented. The house was warm and despite the size it felt cosy. The added bonus was the off street parking! We would certainly book the house again and recommend it to friends/family.

Tired

In need of some maintenance shower door kept falling off. Was not the cleanest place we have stayed in.

Said there were two televisions but was only one so my son could not play his computer games. Notices around about cleaning cooker which I was not impressed with along with having to strip our beds, I have never had to do that anywhere else I have stayed.

Whilst we realise it is someones home it is a bit too personal for a rental property.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments, we'll take them on board. For information: the notice on the cooker is based on previous experiences. It may seem obvious to you to keep the cooker clean, unfortunately this hasn't always been the case with all guests and time simply doesn't allow a professional deep oven clean as part of the turnaround process between departures and arrivals. The request to strip beds upon departure is pretty standard based on our own experiences of holiday rentals and again is intended to expedite the turnaround between guests. You're absolutely correct, it is a home rental rather than a hotel and we reserve the right to run our home as we see fit. You're the first guest to raise this as an issue. The shower door is now fixed. These maintenance issues do occur from time to time, it's more useful to us if guests let us know at the time rather than wait to tell us after the fact.

Coast/Beach:

We are approx: just over a mile to the lovely sandy Joss Bay surfing beach (4 mins drive) or Viking Bay (main Broadstairs beach) is about 5 mins drive away, (pleasantly walkable in about 25-30 mins). There are 7 beautiful bays in Sunny Broadstairs.

Travel:

Kent International airport is around 5.5 miles away and Ramsgate International Ferry Terminal is around 3 miles away. Broadstairs train station is around half a mile away (10-12 mins walk).

High-speed train services commenced from London St.Pancras in December 2009, slashing the journey time to only 1 hr 22 mins (direct to Broadstairs)

The National Express St Peters coach stop is 2 mins walk away at the end of our street, direct services to London.

Distances:

Approx: 1.4 miles to Broadstairs seafront (Viking Bay)

Approx: 1 mile to Joss Bay

Approx: 0.5 miles Broadstairs train station

Further Details:

St.Peters in Broadstairs hosts an historic Turner and Dickens walk, and the local church boasts one of the longest churchyards in England. (A guided tour of historic St Peters can be taken). Broadstairs boasts a wealth of fine restaurants and welcoming pubs, too numerous to list here. In the immediate vicinity of the cottage we have several fast food options, a co-op supermarket, a pub, a flower shop, butchers and newsagents. Further down the road, a short drive away, you have the excellent amenities of the Westwood Cross shopping centre, including major supermarkets and retail chains, multiplex cinema, bingo, restaurant chains.
