Apartment at Retrio Sol, Las Marinas, Denia, Costa Blanca - Quiet Residential Area, Private Terrace, Air Con/heating. Views Towards Denia Castle And Mt Montgo

Air con and heating for winter breaks. Designed and well maintained, cheery first floor apartment in the small group at Retrio Sol with well kept shared garden and salt water pool with children's shallow end. One of the few areas without high rise buildings in the views. Electronic gate safe parking and lock-up for bikes. Fully equipped light open kitchen with breakfast bar for four and dining area for six, white shower room with washing machine. The second bedroom has sliding doors into the live space. Walking distance to supermarkets, patisserie and bars/restaurants. 25 mins walk to Denia centre or a few minutes by car. Great upmarket shopping, indoor/outdoor food markets, ambient "zen time" cafes and the new yacht marina complex. We thought an all white apartment was not very exciting so there's a splash of colour for a homely, but holiday feel. Denia boasts the most festivals of any spanish town, happy people who welcome children especially.

Perfect Denia Choice!

We found this an excellent choice of accommodation, perfect for a lovely, relaxing holiday.The owners were very nice and efficient to deal with and provided all the information required to enjoy the area and its activities. The apartment is wonderfully situated across the road from the beach, and has its own lovely pool. The property is very clean and well maintained and all needs within it are provided. Because its a small enough complex, it's quiet and makes for a very relaxing holiday. The patio and sun terrace, which not every apartment is provided with, complement each other so nicely that you can have sun or shade at any time. There are local restaurants within walking distance and Denia town is not far away. There are supermarkets close by, so everything is catered for. With a car you can drive to other nearby beaches and interesting little towns. All in all, this property provided us with all our needs and we enjoyed a wonderful holiday. Would definitely go back! .

Want a Relaxing Holiday

Great location, very handy for shops, restaurants, and local bus , a lovely apartment in a very quiet location with good facilities . never busy round the pool and well maintained garden to relax in. Owner Rosie is very helpful, no having to go to an agent at certain time to get keys so you can gain access as soon as you arrive. Excellent

Great location

Spent 5 lovely days at Retiro Sol but could have easily spent more if we had had more time. Worth the 10 hour drive from the other side of Spain! The apartment is in a great spot, close to the beaches and shops/bars/Aldi... Felt very safe and the kids could play out in the grounds while we enjoyed the local wine on the terrace. Wasn't quite hot enough to try the pool but looked very inviting all the same! Would definitely consider going back.

Spent a wonderful two weeks at this lovely apartment in September. I was really impressed. Booking with the owner went smoothly from start to finish. The apartment was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped. I was alone and felt very safe within the complex. The garden and pool area were lovely and very well kept. The location was ideal, 20 minute walk to town or you could get a bus from the bus stop a few minute away, journey takes about 8 minutes. There is a row of bars shops restaurant and a supermarket just a few minutes walk away, as is the beautiful sandy beach. This was my first holiday to beautiful Denia, I loved it and my stay at Retiiro Sol, I am definitely booking another stay next year.

Perfect Holiday Pad

This apartment is situated on one of the smaller and older developments, so it feels peaceful and not too built up in the surrounding area. Yet it's still close to the beaches (5 minutes walk) and town centre (25 minutes walk), as well as having local shops and restaurants nearby.

It's not a huge apartment, but it's very comfortable and the owners have thoughtfully tried to provide everything you need when you're on holiday. There's plenty of hot water, a washing machine and the kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils. The towels, bed linens and apartment itself were all spotless. There's a big dining table and chairs. The living room area is quite small, but there is a TV and DVD. However, I think you will be outdoors most of the time!

There's a lovely sun terrace with table and chairs for soaking up the rays and you get a beautiful view of the mountains from here. I’m happy to recommend this place – it’s an ideal spot for singles, couples and small families.

Read the instructions carefully.........

because the route provided from the autoroute was exact - unfortunately we read ahead too quickly and turned at the wrong set of lights - out fault not Rosie's.

Only 2 of us so we spread out in a very comfy apartment - second bedroom became a 'dressing room'.

Not swimmers so didn't try the pool but looked well cared for.

Complex small but, again, well looked after and tidy - off street parking much appreciated.

5 minutes easy walk to superb/safe beach, about 20 ish into town.

Would I go again - yes, can't say much more really.

Coast/Beach:

2 minutes walk to the sandy beaches that stretch for miles both directions. The med sea calm for children and location perfect with easy access for lunch, siesta and a toilet stop!

Travel:

Both Alicante and Valencia airports within an hours drive or taxi journey. Theres a pretty train route via Benidorm from Alicante to Denia and also a bus.

Most amenities in walking distance but a car allows further exploration of a beautiful area.

Distances:

2 minutes walk to the El Poblet shopping area, with Masymas supermarket, post-box and bars/restaurants. Bus stop there every 1/2 hour into Denia. Few mins to Aldi and a continental patisserie/cafe. Denia town centre: can walk to it along the beach or take a short cut through the streets & tunnel under the castle. Golf: La Sella and Oliva Nova courses within 15 mins drive. From Denia there's a meandering coastal walk on level paths to Las Rotas with many fish restaurants.

Further Details:

If the Benidorm coast looks a bit built up then head inland by up to an hour through olive, orange and nesbit groves to the magnificent mountain views of Guadalest or Parcent. Many restaurants perched on hilltops with authentic food. There's a list of good places/visits in the apartment. Locally there is go-karting, horse riding, cycle and quad hire, even trike hire. Also jet-skiing, wind surfing: all water sports. There are many festivals in Denia, the floats and processions are awesome. 5 January - Procession of the Three Wise Men from the port. Mid March -the Fallas (bonfire festivals) with typical Spanish dancing/dresses and bands in the streets. Mid June- Sant Joan bonfires with open air dancing and small fires along the beaches. End June - Fiestas in Saint Peter's street, in the seamens quarter, dancing and animation. For children: 15 mins drive away there's a safari park at Vergel. In Valencia is Europe's largest recreation area for art, science and "Oceanografico" marine park also "Bioparc" conservation animal park.

If you google earth the following latitude 38°51'4.75"N and longitude 0° 5'09.90"E you can see the complex, park and beach etc.

Booking Notes:

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Air conditioning and heating for winter. There is a travel cot, changing mat, high chair and buggy for a baby/toddler as we have stayed often ourselves with little ones and we're quite familiar with the child friendly people, restaurants and many play areas. Great situation, the balcony being glazed, overlooking the garden and pool, which has no chlorine, it's much healthier for children. The private terrace has a locking gate. Sorry No Pets and no smoking inside the apartment - thank you. Long term winter lets available, with heating. We also provide a vacuum cleaner, hairdryer, toaster and theres a smoke alarm and fire blanket for safety. Outside: The open private terrace for outdoor dining or catching some sun has table, 4 chairs and umbrella, BBQ with potted tropical plants around. It has afternoon summer sun and brilliant sunsets. The pool is 7x18m with separate children's shallow area and outdoor shower. The complex is small (only 2 storeys high, mostly retired couples staying intermittently), it's never crowded and the pool/gardens are illuminated in the evenings. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning prior to arrival. All towels and bedlinen included. Also beach towels. Other: Sunny glazed balcony accessed from the main live space or bedroom 2 with olive coloured walls- a great place to sit and relax, and pull down mozzie screens on the side windows for a fresh evening breeze. 2 comfy cane chairs.
