Maisonette In Central Keswick With Stunning Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 03-Dec-2016
4-bed 2-bath maisonette in Keswick offering modern and comfortable accommodation

Crandy Nook, built in 1891 of traditional lakeland stone, is a fabulous 4 bedroom maisonette converted to an exceptional standard in 2007. Centrally located in the popular market town of Keswick, the views of Skiddaw, Walla Crag, Castlehead Wood and over the rooftops towards Bassenthwaite, Skiddaw and Whinlatter Forest, from the lounge and kitchen are simply stunning.

Crandy Nook is set over 3 floors above a coffee shop. On the top floor, with vaulted ceiling, the open plan lounge and kitchen diner is a cosy haven in which to relax and socialise. The contemporary kitchen is very well equipped with induction hob and granite work surfaces.

There are 2 bedrooms and 2 luxury bathrooms on each of the other 2 floors.

Keswick is an all year round popular destination on the shores of Derwentwater. This friendly town hosts the twice-weekly market that has recently won the coveted "Best Outdoor Market" in the Great British Market Awards.

There is something for everyone. Activities include a variety of water sports, wall climbing, paragliding and swimming. Go Ape and mountain biking are in nearby Whinlatter Forest. Keswick also offers two large public parks which offer games facilities in open, wooded and garden settings. Other facilities include a new sports hall, leisure pool, cinema, golf, cycle hire and fishing. Why not try the 400-seat Theatre on the Lake or a cruise on Derwentwater.

You are spoilt for choice for walking either by using Keswick as a base or taking day trips to Ullswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere or further afield, the South Lakes. Personal favourites are Scafell Like, the Borrowdale Valley, Latrigg and the walk around the shores of Derwentwater. Those more adventurous, will head for Sharp edge on Blencathra.

The holiday cost includes 2 parking permits for use in Keswick's 3 long-stay car parks.

We welcome one well behaved dog and can provide, for a small charge, a cot and high chair.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much. We had the greatest time in Keswick. Your apartment was such a pleasant treat, so clean that we felt very comfortable there. The weather was fantastic too. The children spent hours looking out the window and drawing. It was a magical week. My daughter is just about finished with the watercolor painting looking out the dining room window. I will make a copy of it and send to you. Thank you again. I hope some time in our lives we'll have the opportunity to return. - Mrs PL, USA

Just wanted to say we had a great time at Crandy Nook. - Mrs YB, Birmingham

Great apartment, tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, wonderful location, no complaints whatsoever, would definitely return. - Debbie, Liverpool

Location

From the Owner

We purchased Crandy Nook (the building is actually Grandy Nook but is affectionately known to us otherwise) in 2007 and chose the property for its location, the high quality conversion (it's a Victorian property) and the stunning views from the top floor. Keswick is popular all year round and has a certain aura. The property is in the centre of town, a few minutes walk from the Moot Hall, from where many of the local walks begin. There is a wealth of good pubs and restaurants nearby.

Further Details:

Keswick on Derwentwater is a very attractive market town set amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lake District and where all visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities. Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Blencathra (Saddleback) and Scafell Pike are all within easy reach.

Take on a challenging trek, enjoy an unlimited number of planned walks or just marvel at the scenery. Historic places of interest include the 4000-year old Castlerigg Stone Circle, Mirehouse, Victorian museum and the pencil museum.

Activities include a variety of water sports, wall climbing, paragliding and swimming. Keswick also offers two large public parks which offer games facilities in open, wooded and garden settings. Other facilities include a new sports hall, leisure pool, cinema, golf, cycle hire and fishing. There's Go Ape and mountain biking at nearby Whinlatter Forest and a climbing wall not far from the Castlerigg Stone Circle.

Why not take a cruise on Derwentwater or visit the 400-seat Theatre on the Lake.

Facilities

From the Owner

The views of Skiddaw and Whinlatter Forest across the Keswick rooftops from one window, Walla Crag and Castlehead from another, are simply stunning. Latrigg is visible from the main bedroom bay window. We love the walking especially the Borrowdale Valley (check out Castle Crag) and the west shore of Derwentwater (Cat Bells and the lower level walks either side) and cycling.
