Apartment in Orihuela Costa, Nr. Torrevieja, Costa Blanca, Spain - 20 Minutes Walk To The Beach

The property is located in the popular area of Orihuela Costa, Costa Blanca. There are 3 complexes within a 10 minute walk that consist of a number of bars and restaurants. There are two large supermarkets within a 5 minute walk from the accommodation. There is also a weekly local market a short bus ride away. The apartment itself benefits from a communal swimming pool and a south facing balcony that can be used throughout the year. There are a number of good local beaches, that can be accessed by the local bus service. The Villamartin golf course is approximately 20 minutes away from the apartment and there are also 2 water parks within a 20-30 minute drive. The popular destination of Benidorm is approximately 90 minutes away. The location of the property consists of a mixture between ex-pats residents and holiday properties. The local beaches of Punta Prima and Playa Flamenca are approximately a 20 minute walk or 10 minutes by car.

Ian & Heather (Northumberland). Great apartment, would definitely recommend. 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk and a good selection of bars and restaurants. All of which are very reasonably priced. Lots of places to visit we particularly like Villamartin and Marmenor. The night market worth a visit at Torrevieja. The apartment is easily reached from both airports Murcia and Alicante 45 minutes drive. Looking forward to returning later this year.

Great Apartment, Very Clean & Tidy, Good location

Apartment owner Michael is a great guy to deal with and very genuine, the apartment is great and offers everything a family holiday requires. The location is very close to bar and restaurant complexes, Consum supermarket only 2 min walk away, beach is approx 20 min walk with many other shops, bars & cafe's en-route. I will definitely be in contact with Michael again and would recommend the apartment all my family & friends.

Stayed in the apartment with 3 teenage girls it was well equipped and clean, plenty of towels and bedding and beach chairs parasols etc I would recommend the apartment to anyone and I am almost certainly going to book for next year

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Murcia at 28 Kilometres Car: not necessary


The weather on the Costa Blanca is very stable with relatively mild temperatures in the winter. The coldest months are January and February with temperatures ranging from 8-16 degrees and the hottest months are July and August with temperatures ranging from 28 - 35 degrees. Weather wise two very good times of the year to take a holiday are April-June and Oct-Dec.

It is quite usual to see people sunbathing in Nov/Dec/Mar and April.


Alicante and San Javea (Murcia) airports are both 40 mins drive. Ryanair, Easyjet are just some of the airlines offering cheap flights (especially if booked well in advance). Airport transfers can be arranged for you but, to be honest, car hire is so reasonably priced that we think it is a far better option, as you then have the convenience of a car during your holiday. You may also find that the cost of a car park week is no more than return transfers.


Torrevieja is 4km away, lots of restaurants, bars and shops. A funfair and craft market are in the harbour area, busiest in the summer. A street market takes place on Fridays, big, busy and cheap selling everything from fruit to furniture. There are many other local markets. Elche, famous for shoes and palm trees, is a short drive away. Cartagena, historical naval city and now cruise ship destination, is well worth a visit and about 1 hour away.

Further Details:

In addition to the local shops, larger supermarkets are a short drive/bus ride away including a huge Carrefour and the Habenaras shopping centre with boutiques, perfumeries, book shops, electrical and gift shops etc. The nearest bank is approximately 20 minutes walk from the accommodation and there are more bars/restaurants in that area. The Emerald Isle complex is within walking distance and consists of a pool, bowling green and a wide range of evening entertainment. At most times of the year there are local fiestas involving colourful parades, lots of children and vibrant music. Easter sees a week of magnificent parades in Torrevieja and the first week in May there is Andalucian May Fair featuring a wonderful parade of horses and all things equestrian, plus Flamenco (even dogs and babies are in costume!). July sees the Moors and Christian parades (Guadamar's is wonderful), you will have never seen costumes like these! And many more, there is always something going on in Spain. When looking at the weather in the Costa Blanca it is good to remember that Torrevieja has a micro climate which marks it out from our neighbouring towns and the close proximity of the 2 salt lakes works in favour of excellent climate conditions helping to ease the symptoms of asthma, eczema, rheumatism and you are never too far from the sunshine. The southern Costa Blanca is one of the most stunning and unspoilt areas in Europe. Where else could you experience such a variety of places to see for such value for money.

The shopping mall, Zenia boulevard with over 160,000 square meters,150 shops and 5,000 free parking spaces is the biggest shopping centre in the province of Alicante and it is only approximately 10 minutes away from the apartment by car.
