Ty Gwyn is a charming and well proportioned cottage that sleeps 6 comfortably. Situated in the peaceful village of Oakford the cottage is ideally located for Aberaeon and the surrounding Cardigan Heritage Coast. Visitors can enjoy dolphin spotting from Newquay, beautiful coastal walks, a long drink sitting on the harbour wall outside the Harbour Master Hotel in Aberaeron, cooking freshly caught fish on the BBQ, eating fish and chips as the sun goes down and much more. Ty Gwyn has been beautifully furnished and provides a home from home for guests - be they families with children or couples looking for some rest and relaxation. The private garden has a large patio and BBQ area with table and chairs for eating and the owners allow one well behaved dog. Heating is oil fired with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs . A woodburning stove provides added comfort. The local area offers a wealth of activities such as sea kayaking, sailing, surfing, and much more.
Gareth and I bought Ty Gwyn in November 2003 because we wanted a holiday home in West Wales - an area we both love. Gareth is Welsh and wanted a bolt hole and somewhere that our children can appreciate their Welsh heritage. We also love spending the day at the beach, spotting dolphins and generally chilling out. We spent the next couple of years having the cottage extensively renovated to suit both families and couples (having enjoyed many lovely holidays pre-children we were keen to make sure that Ty Gwyn provides a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing 'home from home' for all). Having two young children we have hopefully provided those little items that make a family holiday easier; highchair, travel cot, childrens' crockery and cutlery, non-slip bath mat, potty.
We just wanted to say thanks for having us at your lovely cottage. We had a great time and really enjoyed staying there. We thought the heating under the floor was very cozy! And it was the perfect location for us. We loved the sea/fishing theme of the house....we too live by the sea here in Rhode Island and my husband is an avid fisherman...both of us are fisheries biologists, so we appreciated it
Your cottage is beautiful and we had such a lovely time there, I am sure we will be back!
I love the fact that you have so many home comforts in the cottage, I packed everything I could possibly need as we have stayed in holiday homes before which have not had the little things you need, but you really have thought of everything to make it a home from home (Harriet Sambrook, Dec 2009).
We've had a great week here - splendid weather, glorious coastal walks, superb food and drink - the cottage is amazing, we love it! (Jenny and Jules, May 08)
We've had a fantastic time in your beautifu
