2 bedroom, 2 bathroom air-conditioned house in the immaculate beach community of villacana. Situated on cancelada playa(beach) approx 6 miles south of marbella. Our holiday home is just 150 yards from the beach club and just 50 yards from the nearest pool. Over the past 6 years we have refurbished the property to a very high level, well in excess of usual rental standards. Villacana is one of the costa del sol's best kept secrets, offering a perfect holiday location for families and couples alike. Easy walking distance to cancelada village with its numerous bars and restaurants or stay and enjoy the excellent facilities within villacana. Free on site parking just 50 yards from the property. Excellent on-site facilities. Sky tv, 24 hour security, free wifi, great selection of bars, restaurants and well stocked mini-market.

Why Jeff Elliott chose Playa del Sol Villacana

We purchased the property in 2007, since then we have upgraded the property extensively, In the past 2 years we have installed a new kitchen, both bathrooms have been renewed, new floors throughout, all windows and patio doors have been replaced with double glazed UPVC units, we have also added a fantastic roof terrace with 360 degree views.

As of March 2015 the property has now been completely renovated.

What makes this house unique

The location is ideal for most types of holidaymaker, set in a quiet location the urbanisation is beach front and quiet yet still has excellent facilities for children of all ages.

There are numerous bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walk of the property, the closest on Villacana are within 2 minutes walk.

Cancelada village is 10 minutes walk away where there are many bar and restaurants.

Notes on accommodation: The property has air conditioning in both bedrooms and in the main lounge/dining area. There are local property managers who can assist with almost any matter including car rental, golf bookings etc. Outside: Private patio with free standing brick BBQ, table and 4 chairs, sun parasol. Villacana is suited to all holiday makers including couples and families with children of all ages. There are 4 shared swimming pools on-site including children's pool (the closest being 50m), together with 4 restaurants, mini market open 7 days a week. Utility Room: Storage unit on ground floor terrace containing sun loungers, range of children’s toys and inflatables. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: House towels and linen are included. The property is cleaned and linen and towels changed on a weekly basis. Additional cleaning is available and payable locally.

Alberto 22 the BEST yet!

We like Villacana, we have stayed there many times since the 1980's. We have enjoyed the site and its facilities as young marrieds, with children from toddling to teens and now as pensioners and it has always given us enjoyable holidays.

Alberto 22 is without question the best set up of all of the houses we have stayed in, beautifully appointed and maintained and it is in a good position for access to pools and restaurants with the added luxury of a roof garden which is just the place for late night drinks as the sun goes down.

I just wish we could have stayed longer!

A wonderful family holiday !

We stayed for just over two weeks and had a brilliant time. The property is well equipped, well maintained and we did not want for anything. Good size kitchen, lounge, outside area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, everything works, very comfortable, plenty of sun loungers/chairs to take down to the swimming pool and beach, and sky sports for those who want to keep up to date with English test cricket ! Stunning weather throughout our stay and made use of the roof terrace - for serious sunworshippers only ! It really is a home from home but with decent weather and a sun terrace. On-site supermarket with freshly baked bread, four on-site restaurants with a good range of lunch and dinner options (Enriques was our favourite), nice communal grass area (which backed onto the beach) where we could watch the kids safely in the gated swimming pools whilst we sunned ourselves. It is a very safe place and security guards and staff are very friendly. Over the road (via the bridge) from Villacana is the excellent Tapu restaurant, the well equipped Buddha gym, and the lovely town/village of Cancelada, all well worth a visit – there is a weekly market which we found useful for presents. We would thoroughly recommend this property and will visit again.

Truly a home from home

This was the second year running we stayed at Jeff and Maggie's villa. Why?

Well, Villacana was great for our family: beautiful, peaceful, clean, safe and conveniently placed for visiting other places if we wished. Villacana offers lots of choices: pools or the beach, places to eat or drink at lunch, dinner or even breakfast if you want! There's a supermarket for fresh bread and essentials. A short walk into Cancelada gives further options with some lovely restaurants and local dishes. A short drive or taxi ride sees you in Estepona where you can arrange a boat trip along the coastline or to Gibraltar, eat at one of the many restaurants sampling wonderful fresh fish, or barter at the weekly market.

And why this villa? Simply because it is outstanding: wonderfully well appointed and equipped, with an amazing roof terrace great for privacy and spotting shooting stars, air conditioned throughout essential in the summer heat, outside space with sun or shade, all mod cons that make life easy and really importantly ... comfortable beds - we wished the one in the master bedroom would fit in the suitcase! Finally, the owners use this holiday home themselves and treat it as home: updating and maintaining it. The result is truly a home from home that far outshines others we saw.

Local property managers ensured the property was clean on arrival and during our two week stay. Arrival arrangements were simple and well documented. The owners were helpful, flexible and accommodating. Thank you for two fantastic years and your communication throughout the holiday process.

From the property it is approx 150 yards to the beach i.e. 2 minutes walk. Cancelada Beach is a long sandy beach with the ability to walk 1 hour plus in either directions, close by are various beach bars with the closest being 'Heaven' which offers great food and live music daily during the season.


The nearest airport is Malaga a 45 min drive. Taxi fares are approx 80 euros one way. Alternatively you can use Gibraltar airport which is a similar distance.


The closest mini-market is on-site (1 minute walk). A 10 minute walk will get you into the village of Cancelada with bars, restaurants, banks and shops which are based on Spanish prices rather than Puerto Banus / Marbella prices.

Further Details:

Well stock mini-market on site (150 yards) - Supermarkets are 5-10 mins by car. The towns of San Pedro and Estepona are a 10 min drive with Puerto Banus and Marbella being approx 15 mins by car.
