Apartment in Santa Luzia, Tavira, Eastern Algarve, Portugal - Quiet Location, Child Friendly.

Our beautiful 2 bedroom apartment is situated on the edge of the charming fishing village of Santa Luzia with it´s spectacular white sandy beaches and a wide selection of restaurants and cafes.

Close by is the beautiful moorish village of Tavira with it´s shops and attractions. The apartment offers easy access to local golf courses.

The apartment is decorated in a manner to offer you the best vacation experience. It´s fully airconditioned and there is free WiFi available, TV with portuguese cable and a DVD player.

The pool has a kiddies area with toilet and wash room facilities and underground parking with lift access is available.

There is also a small bedroom balcony and the living room opens to a larger balcony with a BBQ and a set of table and chairs to enjoy a nice al-fresco dinner.

The apartment was great- had all the facilities you would expect to fulfil your needs- kitchen kitted out bbq on balcony outside with patio table and chairs- great chilling outside area- good local amenities area good beaches to die for- we both had a great fun but relaxing time- eastern algarve is fabulous- second time in the apartment!!

Well the pictures don't do it justice. This apartment is fantastic and very confortable.

The location is very good, very quiet and near to the ferry boats to the magnificent beach "Ponta Estreita".

Santa Luzia offers good food in several restaurants.

Last year we enjoyed a great weak here and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Booked this apartment with my partner for an annual Chess tournament and found it to be excellent although Santa Luzia was very quiet so nearby Tavira offered more,I just spoke to the owner as we left the Apartment with a spare set of keys which we only realised when back and also to thank her for a really nice stay and a break from our Danish winter so she also asked if we would write a review which I had no problem to as I would recommend it to a friend.

Beautiful Santa Luzia

Decided on a late break but could not decide where,Santa Luzia seemed nice and the owner assured us it was a described and we were not disappointed.Santa Luzia is a gem of a genuine coastal village with Tavira only 3km away,all in all a very relaxing break in a beautiful location and a delightful apartment.

Perfect Location

Arrived late in the evening and after a short delay the keyholder arrived to greet us,the apartment was recommended by a friend and was exactly as described,clean and cozy in a good location,the only real problem was the the elevator was not working when we arrived but this was rectified before we left.Keyholder Jorge was a real gentleman as we had to call him when we mislaid the keys and nothing was a problem for him.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended


Barril beach is without question one of the best on the Algarve, it is easily reached boat 2 mins or mini train or by a beautiful coastal walk 30 mins. The beach facilities are second to none. The beach areas are environment protected.


Faro is the nearest airport 30 mins, 35-40 euro for Taxi.Local car hire is available from Pedras del Rai Hotel.


Tavira is a beautiful Roman town 5km from Santa Luzia and 3 euro for a taxi. A trip to Ayemonte whiche lies on the border in Spain 20-25 mins is worth a visit for it"s excellent tapas bars.

Further Details:

Santa Luzia has everything that you need for groceries, banks and chemists etc. There are a few restaurants that deserve mention - Alca Truz is as traditional Algarvian fish restaurant frequented mainly by locals and Spanish visitors. OChiqo does fantastic sea food from the bar. Restaurant Vincent has Classic French cuisine with local produce and under French managment.
