Apartment in La Cala De Mijas, Costa Del Sol - Peaceful Location, 5-10 Minutes walk to the Beach

2 bedroom apartment on 6th floor, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Pleasant 5 minutes walk to local beach and further 5 mins to La Cala walk into La Cala with its blue flag beach and Spanish charm, many restaurants, shops, banks and outdoor market. There are also restaurants and shops nearby should you not want to venture too far. Good coastal transport links, so not necessary to hire car. There are 25 Golf courses within a 25km area Chaparrel within walking distance, Noria Golf, La Cala Hills, Riviera, Miraflores to name but a few. The Costa del Sol horse racing course is approx 1 kilometre, short travelling distance to Aquaparks. During the winter months the Sierra Nevada mountains are just 1 and half hours making it an ideal skiing location. If you wish to explore the area further Gibraltar is just 1 hour away along with inland Ronda with one of the oldest bullrings in Spain.

Very enjoyable

We spent the month of February there and enjoyed the views and the village. There were one or two problems with the apartment , the shower needs sorting and a ring on the oven did not work also the tap defuses need replacing. You can not get to the village with out walking up and down hills but you can get to the Captains Bar without that problem. Having said all that we did thoroughly enjoy ourselves and would defiantly return especially to the Village

Booked this apartment at fairly short notice.

It was clean and tidy and very good value for money. The lady who showed us to the apartment was very understanding especially after we got lost en route from the Airport !!

It's only a 10 minute walk into La Cala itself and 5 minutes to the nearest golf club !

Very quiet and peaceful with a fantastic view out to the sea.

Thank you for a lovely stay !!

Stunning views from apartment

Just come back from 2 weeks staying in this lovely apartment.This is a home from home accommodation.It makes a big difference to have a comfy & good size bed to relax in. The views are breathtaking,so glad we took our binoculars,as we watched the cruise ships in the evening while having a glass off wine. La cala is a very friendly place,plenty of restaurants & pubs in the village.We would highly recommend this apartment. Had a brilliant holiday.Thank you Clive & Chris

La Cala Trip

First impressions of the apt were very good. It was as we looked closer we discovered the cleaning was mostly surface cleaning, the chairs in the kitchen had food stuck to the seats under the cushions and a lot of ledges and behind furniture was not very clean either.

Having said that we really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The owner is a complete gentleman and I hope he can remedy this. We had a problem with our flights due to an air strike and he had no problem with us staying an extra night for which we are very thankful. A big plus would be to have WiFi installed. La Cala itself is lovely and compact and everyone is very friendly. I would certainly recommend the views from the apartment,and I feel if you could open the seating area fully it would be beautiful to sit and watch them. A little suggestion would be if sun loungers were available by the pool. There is a pub down the street called Streets of London which we would highly recommend for fantastic food. I would certainly rent the apartment again.

The Spanish charm of the area was one of the reasons for choosing an apartment here. It is ideally located between Marbella and Fuengirola. So giving you a choice of locations during your stay.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Caba-pino beach is a well known naturist beach, and only a short distance away.

Coast/Beach:

5 minutes walk to the local beach. and 5 mins further to La Cala has a blue flag sandy beach with a good selection of beach restaurants. There are many easy accessible beaches and resorts to visit along the coastline.

There are some local water sports, and the Aquaparks in Torremolinos and Fuengirola are easy accessible as is Benalmadena Marina with sea life centre and picturesque Port.

Marbella and Puerto Banus is a short distance away by transport.

Travel:

Malaga airport is 25 minutes away by transport. It is not essential to hire a car as public transport is easily accessible. The train runs from Malaga airport to Fuengirola and there are very good coastal links by bus as well as excellent taxi services.

Distances:

El Chapparral golf course is within walking distance of the apartment. Noria Golf Course is approx a 10 min walk away.

Malaga 25 minutes by car.

Sierra Nevada Mountains 2 1/2 hours by car.

Gibraltar 1 1/2 by car.

Ronda 1 hour by car renowned for having the oldest bull ring in Spain.

Hippodrome, la Cala (horse racing) 1 kilometre from the apartment.

Fuengirola 15 mins by car.

Marbella & Puerto Banus 30 mins by car.

Aquapark 15 mins by car.

Tivoli World 20 mins by car.

Further Details:

Local shop within the apartment complex and area boasts a large number of bars and restaurants. The quaint village of La Cala is just a 10 min walk. where you can find further restaurants and bars along with supermarket, shops and banks.

We chose the 6th floor due to the fantastic views of the Mediterranean and African Coast. The bars and restaurants close by are warm and welcoming, and the beach is only a short walk away. We feel that the secured gardens and pool give a relaxed peaceful holiday that you deserve.
