The villa is situated in the North East of Corfu, on the outskirts of Agios Markos, one of the oldest and prettiest villages on the island. Anywhere you look from the estate you will enjoy breathtaking views. You can clearly see Corfu town and its majestic fortress and enjoy the unique beauties of the endless sea and landscape views.

The traditional Corfiot architectural style is the main feature of the villa, executed to perfection by the owner and prestigious architect Mr. Periklis Laskaris. Once you get settled in you will feel a unique serenity and sense of fulfillment thanks to the stylish combination of tradition and luxury. The positioning of the villa is ideal as it is located between town and countryside so you can take advantage of both.

Great attention has been given to the outdoor areas as we understand that a holiday in Corfu comes hand in hand with bright sunshine and the intoxicating moon. Infinity style pool and large sitting and dinning areas are incorporated in a natural habitat full of trees and all kind of colorful plants. The villa enjoys total privacy, as it is completely secluded.

Nearby are many villages where you will be able to satisfy all your needs. You can dine enjoying all kind of local specialties and mouthwatering delicacies. Bars and night clubs are plentiful and offer a vibrant nightlife for all ages. Last but not least the North East of Corfu, where the villa is located, is home to the island's most beautiful blue water beaches.

Periklis is in the tourist business for more than 30 years. He is a well known architect who owns four luxury villas in the surrounding area of the Venetian village of San Marco.

The house was rebuild in 2004, on the ruins of a byzantine watchtower and an olive press it faces the sun for more than 14 hours a day. It lies in a huge olive grove with a spectacular view to the sea and features an infinity pool. It is surrounded by nature and inspires total relaxation.

2 splendid weeks in Corfu

This was our 2nd stay at Villa Melolia. Our Norwegian family of 4 chose Corfu for our summer vacation in 2011 for the first time. We rented 2 different villas on the island, fell in love in Villa Melolia, and came back 2 weeks this summer. The property is special. Hidden in a quiet hillside, with a magnificent view towards the sea and Corfu town, which is only 15 minutes car drive away.

The Laskaris has full control of everything. The house, swimming-pool, garden, cleaning and … everything is tip top.

There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, from gourmet food in restaurant Etrusco, to a number of Greek, Italian, English, Cinese … restaurants in Kassiopi (North), Nisaki, Ipsos, Corfu town and many other places. But cooking at home, in the kitchen at Villa Melolia with very good raw material from the local market is just as good.

I (the father of the house) am a runner, and a morning run up to the beautiful village Ano Korakiana is recommended. Our 9 year old daughter loves horses, and we can strongly recommend Trailriders Horse trekking with Sally Ann, her professional team only 5 minutes car drive from Villa Melolia.

The island is big enough to explore something new every day. Or, just stay at home, read a good book, relax and enjoy the view and the eagles flying above the estate.

Strongly recommended. We would love to come back.

Coast/Beach:

By just standing at the veranda you can spot the beautiful landscape and the sea which is only 1.5km away. Melolia is in the north-east of Corfu, which happens to be the most beautiful part of the whole island. Alongside the coast you can find breathtaking chain of beaches which offer you great nightlife and boat rental. The positioning of the villa is ideal not only because of the beach nearby but also because it is located between town and countryside which enables great sightseeing.

Travel:

The villa is located in the borders of 'San Marco' an old Venetian village which is 17km from Corfu town and its port and airport. A car is recommended and parking is free inside the gate with private access road.

Distances:

The health care centre is only 2.4km away. There are only 200 meters separating the house from an old Byzantine church with beautiful fresco's. The house and its surroundings create a big deal of outdoor activities clouding hiking, walking and mountain biking. The 'Panorama' bar offers... moon juice and the night life awaits you 1.7km distance.

Further Details:

If you are biking enthusiasts our villa is the ideal place to be. For your information the local mountain biking club organises trips in the surrounding area and it will be very easy to join them as they pass in front of the villas gate.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: We are registered in the National Tourist Organization of Greece and "The Sunday Times" suggested our villas on June 6/2004 , February 17/2008 and April 27/2008 and latest January/2014. Outside: Infinity style, the pool overflows on the outer edge so that the stunning view and the garden are laid out below as you swim! The size of the pool is 11 x 5.5 meters, and has 2m in the deepest point and 80cm in the shallow part. The pool is private. (See the villa in the google earth). Utility Room: Washing machine. iron and board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, the property is cleaned 3 times a week and the towels and linen are changed twice a week. The pool is cleaned by two times a week and PH checked three times a week. Other: The piéce de résistance is the garden itself, with a pool that overflows on the outer edge with sun deck and shadow deck, the breakfast area in the pool area, the belvedere in the top of the tower (relaxing area), and a round barbecue.
