Guestbook comments from the owner

Feedback on the cottage has been excellent. We know the cottage represents superb value for money. Comments received to-date:

Giles and I had a brilliant week at the cottage. The location was brilliant. We had no problems with parking. The layout of the cottage was amazing considering how small it was. It contained everything needed for a holiday stay.We would consider staying there again; we've already recommended it to some friends. Hope to be in contact with you again some time soon. Mr & Mrs Lloyd, Suffolk

Mr & Mrs Turton from Gloucestershire; really enjoyed there first Norfolk holiday, cottage was very comfortable, with everything we needed.

Lorraine and John from Essex; described the cottage as "cute and cosy" (stayed in Feb09)

Mrs Durrant from Peterborough was concerned that parking would be a problem, however it proved very easy to find parking each afternoon / evening.

Comfortable, child friendly cottsge

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was in a good location not far from the cafes, restaurants and seafront. It was clean and had everything in it for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed it very much and a suitable place for a child to stay.parking on the unrestricted streets was easy. Booking the property was straightforward and all the information provided by the owner was detailed and very useful. I recommend this place undoubtedly. It has everything you need and more.

Liked it, but there is room for improvement

  • 4 of 5

Just returned today from the cottage. I did like like it but although it sleeps 3, the downstairs doesn't really cater for 3, as there is a 2 seater settee and 2 chairs at the dining table. Following on from previous reviews there is now a blind in the bathroom, but the skirting could do with finishing off. Cottage is well located in the centre of town but it is still quiet.

Wifi is only good if by a window.

I would come back if a couple but as my son is 11, we won't as a family.

A charming, cosy little cottage

  • 4 of 5

This was our second holiday here and again we had a great time. There is so much to do locally and the cottage is very well situated. A short walk away from the station so ideal for arriving by train, as we did.

The new look sitting area is lovely .A charming and cosy little cottage.

An absolute gem.

  • 5 of 5

The pictures were totally accurate and the owner gave us a very comprehensive email, even down to ideas of what to pack that we knew exactly what to expect. I did think the cottage might feel cramped but because it is so light and airy it doesn't at all. The lobster pub is a must for food! John the housekeeper does a fantastic job and everywhere was fresh and clean.the position of the cottage is great, a row back from the high street and the beach at the end of the road. We will definitely be back and I have 3 friends who now want to book. The lovely couple staying in the "beach hut" were kind enough to let us look around and if you wanted somewhere larger for a longer stay I'd highly recommend that also as it is beautiful and owned by the same helpful owners and looked after by the lovely john. It was wonderful to be able to take the dogs too. Thank you :)

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. I'm delighted you had a nice stay in this excellent value cottage. We improved the lounge and kitchen area in January 2016 to upgrade the cottage. I'll investigate the internet problem as it was working fine when stayed in the cottage in January.

A seaside gem!

  • 4 of 5

I came for a short break, whilst visiting friends and relatives, and stayed in this

tiny but beautifully formed, traditional fisherman's cottage. Exceptional value for money, close to shops and the seafront. Really enjoyed the coastal walks and Sheringham Park. Fab hot chocolate in Rallentendos just down the road and good takeaway fish and chips from The Trawler. The cottage was cosy, quiet and very clean, with a lovely, comfortable double bed and an excellent shower. Clear and thorough instructions from Neil about everything which makes life much easier when staying somewhere on your own.

Location

From the Owner

We simply love North Norfolk, we wanted a seaside home in a town with a beach near by to enjoy simple bucket and spade holiday.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beach is 2 minute walk away along the main High Street. Sheringham has a lovely promenade. The beach at low tide is sandy, ideal for making sand castles. At high tide the beach is shingle. Rock pools at West Runton, just 5 minutes away.

Travel:

Sheringham main line station (Norwich 1 hour) or the famous Poppy line steam railway station is just one minute walk away. Driving time from Norwich airport is 30-40 minutes. Coastal Hooper service runs from Railway Station, take bus either way along coast all year round.

Distances:

Holt for designer shopping is 10 minutes away by car or why not go by steam train! Cromer is 10 minutes away by car to test your crabbing skills on the pier. Sheringham Park NT is just 2 minutes away by car, climb the massive Gazebo for the best view in Norfolk. Muckleburgh military collection just 5 minutes by car, drive a tank rather than your car! Blackney point is 15 minutes away by car to enjoy a boat trip to watch the seals.

Further Details:

You’ll be spoilt for choice with several fine fish and chip shops, choice of exotic takeaways, great pubs a range of cafes and a selection of restaurants. Alternatively you could purchase Shellfish from the “Stall” towards the front.

Beach hut seaside café on the Promenade. Our daughter Ellie loves the cafe as she loves their little dog! Whelk Coopers tearooms overlooking the sea on the Promenade. Lunch box on the High Street is recommended for sandwiches. Number ten very good for lunches and evening meals. No One the Bistro overlooking the sea we have heard is very good. Thai restaurant on High Street towards the Seafront. We’ve had a lovely evening meal here, without the kids? Our favorite Fish and chip shop is the tiny one just past Sainsbury’s or the yellow fronted F&C shop down the street opposite.
