Villa in Roda Golf and Beach Resort, Murcia, Spain - Peaceful Location With Private Gardens with a 20 minute walk to the beaches of the Mar Menor

This beautiful 3 double bedroom villa comes with parking for 2 vehicles, a well-equipped kitchen, an open-plan lounge diner with sliding doors to the spacious terrace furnished with a six seater dining, loungers and barbecue. There are two bathrooms with shower facilities. Along with the long list of baby gear provided, the villa comes with: SKYTV, DVD player, CD player, Ipod docking station, internet access, oven, hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, clothes drying rack, dish-washer, microwave, toaster, kettle.

The villa is at Roda Golf and Beach Resort, just 5kms from Murcia Airport (San Javier), which is served by low-cost flights from most UK regional airports, making it a very convenient location. It's about a mile from the nearest beach at Los Alcazares which is sandy with warm shallow waters and backed by a long pushchair-friendly promenade complete with cafe bars and kids play areas dotted along it. The nearest large supermarkets of Consomme and Lidl are situated near the front entrance to the gated golf course, as is the Phillipe Starke inspired restaurant at the 525 Hotel, which comes highly recommended as does the El Patio III restaurant in the lively pedestrianised square nearby.

The entire region does seem recently built, although low-rise in the main, but for a dose of culture, the historic city of Cartagena is around 20mins away and has some inspiring architecture, museums, good shopping and a pretty waterfront area with bars and bistros. The city of Murcia (40mins) is also quite a discovery with a cosmopolitan feel, great shopping, dining and the impressive Roman ruins. The new Terra Natura zoological park in Murcia is a great day out and a very well put together safari-style experience.

Getting There: Roda is just 5kms from the Murcia San Javier Airport and about an hour from Alicante Airport.

Why Kerry Marlow chose San Javier

We purchased the property in 2007. We had viewed properties all over the World. With the property situated on a premier golf club managed by the De Vere Group you could not ask for more. The beaches are fabulous and getting here is easy.

What makes this villa unique

There is easy access to the property - with parking facilities outside the door for two vehicles.

The Swimming pool is close by, but, not to close if you want to laze in the sun on the patio.

The villa has a downstairs bedroom and bathroom which makes it amenable for disabled access.

We stayed in this very well equipped villa. We have an 18 month old who is always on the go. The owners supplied us with a cot at no extra charge. They provided toys, paddling pool and the front garden was enclosed so safe for our son to run around. The information pack is full of information. The beach was great and was very family friendly. The sea water is shallow and very safe. The owners supplied us with a cabana, parasols and buckets and spades for the beach. In Roda there is a community restaurant which is great for kids and the food is good as well. Near the villa there are a number of play areas for children. There is plenty to do with small children. In the villa they have all British TV channels.We walked the promenade most mornings and the scenery is outstanding.We had a great holiday and are planning to return next year

Notes on accommodation: Welcome packs, airport transfers, cots, highchairs provided upon request. The villa is non-smoking and we do not allow pets. Double bedroom 1 has patio doors opening on to a sunny balcony which overlooks Roda's championship golf course. Twin bedroom 3 has patio doors which open on to the rear garden. There are also 4 sun loungers. Outside: There is a high quality patio set for 6 persons. Four sun loungers. A barbecue for outdoor cooking. The patio has fitted wooden blinds to shade from the sun. The large shared swimming pool is a few steps from the rear of the villa.There is access to a further 3 large swimming pools. The villa has security shutters on all windows. The front and rear garden are hedged and maintained to a high standard. There is a outside storage room with 6 portable sunbeds and parasols for use by the swimming pool or for the beach. Utility Room: Washing machine. Store cupboard with iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bedlinen are provided. There is a fee payable on arrival to cover the cost of cleaning, towels and bedlinen. Other: Outdoor dining area for 6 on patio with barbecue and four sun loungers. Storeroom with additional 6 sunbeds and parasols for the beach. Inflatables and tennis equipment.

Great villa, great location

We have had a fantastic holiday here. Great location, close to town for beach, restaurants and shops. Villa was clean, well equipped and was exactly as described in the listing. The patio and garden was well kept and we used it throughout the day as a sitting/eating area , the wooden blinds are great in keeping the patio shaded during the day. The nearest pool to the villa is a very short walk from the back door, close enough for kids to go on their own (11 &15) but far enough not to be bothered by noise. In fact the resort was very peaceful. We didn't walk into town , used hire car or the little bus service which does a loop between the resort and the town. Best beaches were Lo Pagan and Santiago de la Ribera. Also had days out to Cartagena and Terra Natura water park, both within an hours drive. We all loved Cartagena with Roman ruins, naval history and great shops and tapas! Kerry and his local management team were great providing info re the villa, resort and the local area. Thanks for a great holiday!

A perfect winter sun escape

As golfers we were so happy with our choice of villa. The rooms were spacious and airy and the villa was well equipped and maintained. The Central Heating enabled us to enjoy cosy evenings after golf and dinner and the peaceful surroundings ensured a good night's sleep.

It was close to amenities, shops and the Mar Menor which meant we could also enjoy fabulous walks and spectacular views. We will certainly return next year. Diane R.

Perfect for young families

We have two young children (4 and 2), both loved this villa. Save and secure surroundings; lovely villa with all the facilities you need to have a home away from home - highchairs, travel cots, dishwasher and washing machine.

Villa was beautiful and in a quiet spot where the children could play out the front or back. Perfect location for travelling around the Costa Callida.

Beach at Los Alcazares is great for kids, lovely sea with no tide, soft white sand. Long boardwalk for kids to run around on with no chance of seeing a car and so many kids parks for them to play on!!

Couldn't recommend more highly!! Have already booked to come back in the Summer!!

Coast/Beach:

The beaches of Los Alcazares are located just five minutes away by car. The private Beach Club at La Manga is opened in the high season. Transfers can be booked at the Clubhouse. Facilities include a restaurant and bar, pool, changing rooms, lounge area with Wi-fi, private beach and a large amount of sunloungers. Towels are provided.

Travel:

Murcia, San Javier airport is located just 10 mins from the villa. Alicante airport is located just 50 mins away. Car hire is recommended. The new Corvera airport due to be open in late 2012 is only 20 minutes.

Distances:

Murcia city is just 40 mins away. Cartagena is just 30 mins away. Alicante is 1hr away. Los Narejos is only 1 mile and San Javier and Los Alcazares are 2 miles away. The new Corvera airport is 20 minutes away.

Further Details:

There is a small shop on site at Roda Golf for essentials and there are a number of large supermarkets as well as lot of local shops in Los Alcazares. The best shopping centres are at Dos Mares, San Pedro, Espacio Mediterraneo, Cartagena, Nueva Condomina and Thader in Murcia. All of these are 15- 35 minutes away.

The resort and is only a 5 min drive from the Mar Menor with its 7km of flat promenades, fabulous beaches and the centre of Los Alcazares. This is a typically Spanish town with many delightful restaurants, tapas bars, banking, supermarkets and shops. The area is extremely flat therefore cycling is an ideal way of slowing down and trying out some of the beaches and bars! There are many street markets. Mondays: San Pedro del Pinatar. Tuesdays: Los Alcazares Town Centre. Wednesdays: Santiago de La Ribera. Thursdays: San Javier. Fridays: Torrevieja. Saturdays: Los Narejos and Torre Pacheco. Sundays: Cabo de Palos. Why not explore the Mar Menor Islands? There are five uninhabitated islands in the Mar Menor. Isla del Baron (or Isla Mayor) and Isla Perdiguera are located near the centre of the lagoon and the other three Isla del Ciervo, Isla Rondella and Isla del Sujeto are grouped together near the southern end of the La Manga strip. Isla del Ciervo is connected to La Manga by a short causeway. Isla Perdiguera is a popular destination for boat excursions with bars and restaurants on its small harbour. Ferries run frequently from Los-Alcazares and other towns on the Mar Menor in the Summer. Fancy something different then why not try a mud bath. The water and the mud in the Mar Menor have a high concentration of minerals which has been found to carry healing powers for people suffering arthritis, rheumatism, tendinitis, and joint ailments, skin ailments, as well as enhancing blood flow around the body.
