Only metres from coast path, two 2 bed cottages & 2 vintage railway carriages - Willow (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

Updated: 18-Nov-2016
Cottages in Cadgwith Cove,The Lizard, West Cornwall, England - Situated in quiet and secluded 2 acres above Cadgwith Cove, only 100metres from the coast path

The Coach House is situated in over 2 acres of grounds above unspoilt Cadgwith Cove on Cornwall's stunning Lizard Peninsula. The Devil's Frying Pan and coastal path are only approx hundred yards from the property. The working fishing village of Cadgwith Cove with it's stone and thatched cottages, pub, tea rooms, gift shops and beaches, is also only a few minutes walk. Poppy & Willow cottages are quiet, tastefully decorated 2 bed roomed properties, perfect for families or couples, whilst Henrietta and The Old Coach are unique oak framed vintage railway carriages. Both carriages have been here since the 1920's, and are just perfect for a romantic break. There is also a stream, goats, ducks and chickens! With wooded areas bordering 3 sides of the grounds, there is a wealth of wildlife including foxes, badgers and bird-life. The main house was re-built in late 2008-2009 and now offers 2 'cottage-style' holiday lets. Each property is equipped with a modern kitchen (including washing machine - except the Old Coach), Freeview, internet access (cottages only) and all have a private garden with picnic table, lights and BBQ. Guests are encouraged to make use of the grounds and picnic tables, and children love feeding the animals!

'The Fisherman's Apprentice' Monty Halls and his partner stayed with us in Willow for 4 months, whilst filming in Cadgwith. Their daughter was born whilst living here, and Willow was her first home!

About the Owner

We have lived in Cadgwith for ten years now. We fell in love with the area many years ago (Paula has been coming here since she was a small child) so when the chance came to move here with our three children, we simply couldn't resist it.

Amazing holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in Willow - beautiful house, very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Perfect location for lots of coastal walks. Paula was friendly and helpful but not intrusive and left us alone to get on with our holiday. We had an amazing week, the weather was great and Cadgwith and the area around it is a gorgeous unspoilt, quiet piece of Cornwall. Just booking again for next march!!

Very welcoming.

Our stay in Cadgwith Cove at willow was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. It was very quite but not far from the cove along the coastal path. The cottage was well equipped for our stay and the owners although just next door were never intrusive but on hand if needed. Great place and I would stay again. Thank you.

Beautiful, cosy cottage with lovely light rooms and coastal theme. Perfect location, perfect holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at Cadgwith Cove from the 21st to 28th of May 16 and it was simply fantastic. Willow cottage was idyllic; very cosy, very clean, very tidy and had everything we needed for our break. It is perfectly located, being only a short (less than 10 minute) walk to the lovely Cove and village and within easy driving distance of local towns and attractions, as stated on the website.

We had a lovely, peaceful week and the often unpredictable British weather was fortunately very kind. We were greeted by Paula on our second day, as we were out down to the Cove and the local, lively, and welcoming Inn as soon as we unpacked. I recommend the local Ales....all of them!!! Paula was very warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at home. If you're after a quiet and peaceful break in a lovely picturesque location then Coach House Cadgwith Cottages are for you. Enjoy :o) Thank you Paula.

Absolutely gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

We had a superb stay in Willow cottage, the interior is to a very high standard and very cosy. There was a lovely cream tea awaiting us. The house is ideally placed for lovely walks and near enough to the village and cove to walk with small children. Our hostess Paula was delightful. Cannot wait to go back again !

A real gem....

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property, real character to the interior and unique location. A real gem of a find.

Stream running alongside the property, lovely location.

Great for a getaway to de stress. No phone signal was a bonus here and would suit plans for a relaxing break.

Interior was very comfortable but would suit a couple rather than a family with older children. Children's room with bunk beds was a bit too snug would be my only issue and would suit younger children.

Great base for exploring the Lizard area but was not too far from Falmouth or connections to south Cornwall.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay! We have added more photos of the children's room to our advert to help future guests. The bunk beds/ room is designed more for younger children, but being 3ft wide and full length they are still suitable for teenagers/young adults.

From the Owner

We have always loved Cornwall and in particular the Lizard. Having visited Cadgwith many times over the years, we never dreamt we would be given the opportunity to live here in such a beautiful and spectacular location. With it's working fishing beach, swimming beach, friendly pub and shops/cafes, Cadgwith offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The spectacular coastline offers unique walking opportunities either in the summer or even when winter storms pound the granite and serpentine of the rugged local coastline. Paul regularly contributes on a Tuesday evening in the pub, where he is well known for playing his guitar, bouzouki and even his double bass!

From the Owner

There are a number of benefits in staying in Poppy or Willow. Both properties are built and equipped to a high modern standard but retain a relaxed cottage style charm. You can choose to relax in the quiet surroundings offered by the large grounds and stream or you can take advantage of the proximity to the Coastal Path and the Cove itself. The Cadgwith Cove Inn and Cellars Restaurant are within walking distance and both offer evening meals. Locally caught fresh fish can be bought daily in the Cove. Live music is also available in the pub with Folk Night on a Tuesday Night and local singers on a Friday night.
