The Coach House is situated in over 2 acres of grounds above unspoilt Cadgwith Cove on Cornwall's stunning Lizard Peninsula. The Devil's Frying Pan and coastal path are only approx hundred yards from the property. The working fishing village of Cadgwith Cove with it's stone and thatched cottages, pub, tea rooms, gift shops and beaches, is also only a few minutes walk. Poppy & Willow cottages are quiet, tastefully decorated 2 bed roomed properties, perfect for families or couples, whilst Henrietta and The Old Coach are unique oak framed vintage railway carriages. Both carriages have been here since the 1920's, and are just perfect for a romantic break. There is also a stream, goats, ducks and chickens! With wooded areas bordering 3 sides of the grounds, there is a wealth of wildlife including foxes, badgers and bird-life. The main house was re-built in late 2008-2009 and now offers 2 'cottage-style' holiday lets. Each property is equipped with a modern kitchen (including washing machine - except the Old Coach), Freeview, internet access (cottages only) and all have a private garden with picnic table, lights and BBQ. Guests are encouraged to make use of the grounds and picnic tables, and children love feeding the animals!
'The Fisherman's Apprentice' Monty Halls and his partner stayed with us in Willow for 4 months, whilst filming in Cadgwith. Their daughter was born whilst living here, and Willow was her first home!
We have lived in Cadgwith for ten years now. We fell in love with the area many years ago (Paula has been coming here since she was a small child) so when the chance came to move here with our three children, we simply couldn't resist it.
paula purchased this cottage in 2006
We have always loved Cornwall and in particular the Lizard. Having visited Cadgwith many times over the years, we never dreamt we would be given the opportunity to live here in such a beautiful and spectacular location. With it's working fishing beach, swimming beach, friendly pub and shops/cafes, Cadgwith offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The spectacular coastline offers unique walking opportunities either in the summer or even when winter storms pound the granite and serpentine of the rugged local coastline. Paul regularly contributes on a Tuesday evening in the pub, where he is well known for playing his guitar, bouzouki and even his double bass!
There are a number of benefits in staying in Poppy or Willow. Both properties are built and equipped to a high modern standard but retain a relaxed cottage style charm. You can choose to relax in the quiet surroundings offered by the large grounds and stream or you can take advantage of the proximity to the Coastal Path and the Cove itself. The Cadgwith Cove Inn and Cellars Restaurant are within walking distance and both offer evening meals. Locally caught fresh fish can be bought daily in the Cove. Live music is also available in the pub with Folk Night on a Tuesday Night and local singers on a Friday night.

What a lovely week-didn't want it to end!We cannot believe how lucky we were to discover the Coach House, and particularly Willow Cottage.Paula's attention to detail is fabulous.A home from home, made all the more special by our temporary adoption of 'Bertie' the badger. Our legs have never ached so much from all the walking, but the stunning views were worth it! Our stay in Poppy at The Coach House was a special, beautiful break.
The drive up the hill to the property was stunning in itself, but when we arrived and pulled in, we were pretty much gobsmacked at how lovely the setting was. We were greeted by the lovely Paula, who is such a lovely host - we immediately felt at home and settled in - we did not want to leave!
The cottage itself we beautiful, cosy and homely and the scones, cornish butter, cream and jam on arrival was amazing.
We plan on coming to stay again in the near future and have found our special place to visit again and again. I highly recommend it to anyone.

the whole trip was great, just what was needed. excellent property. friendly locals and great food and entertainment at the inn. looking forward to our next visit
We have had a lovely week staying in Poppy. Greeted by a very welcome cream tea after a tortuous journey (when will they finish the roadworks on the A30!!) we were delighted by the gorgeous Poppy. Warm, cosy, very well equipped - everything we had wanted for a few days away from the stresses of life! Paula is a lovely and welcoming host and we highly recommend Poppy and look forward to a return visit. If you go to the area you must visit Treleague Dairy for gorgeous fresh milk (in a bottle, non of your plastic bottle rubbish), cream, cheese and fresh vegetables and fruit. All in all a lovely holiday for us and our little rescue dog. Thank you Paula.
We stayed for a week in poppy cottage it was marvellous. The cottage is excellently presented and furnished. The decor is around a seaside theme and works so well within the setting. The surrounding garden and woods are beautiful and gives the whole site and air of peace and tranquility. Paula is very welcoming and the cream tea on arrival is very welcome and delicious. The local area is great for walking and site seeing despite the location being near the most westerly point it's in easy reach of all the 'attractions'. The local hamlet of Cadgwith is very scenic and both restaurants are very worth a visit as is the gift shop. Finally words go to the friendly goats, ducks, cats and 'cocky the cockerel' who made our stay very memorable with his strutting around and alarm call. We will return and sample the railway cottages the next time
The property was tucked away in a idyllic setting, within a stones throw of a delightful cove. The cottage was equipped very well was clean modern, and attractive ideal for a family holiday. The restaurants at Cadgwith Cove were excellent.
It was a really nice gesture to be greeted with a cream tea on arrival, and to meet the owners who were very welcoming.
