About Karen Maggs

We have owned the house for 14 years. Having previously holidayed for many years with our family all over France, on retirement the chance of "buying a project" was too good to miss. We have always lived in South Oxfordshire and love to escape to the peace and beauty of France.

We have improved the house over the years and spent many happy times working alongside our holiday.

Now we just enjoy a good rest.

Karen Maggs purchased this villa in 2002

Why Karen Maggs chose Tourtour

This villa is situated within a distance to do anything and see anything on the Cote d'Azur yet is in a peaceful area and feels like a home. We use the house for our extended family where children and adults of all ages are equally happy and shorter trips with friends.

Walking, visiting markets, eating, and swimming are our favourite activities all on the door step. Antibes is our favourite town. We love the Gorge for canoeing and pedaloing. Our neighbour has a small holding, we share our fruit with him and he shares his veg with us. We think it essential to be able to walk to a retaurant or bar.

We have a particular love of the french countryside and Provence. We enjoy the french language and culture.

What ever time of year we visit there is always so much beauty in the countryside here, and so much to do, if we want to.

What makes this villa unique

Benefits of the property are the peace and privacy, glorious panoramic views yet short walk to hotels and restaurants. During a holiday we can cover every activity from lazing by the pool, visiting the Cote d'Azur, the Gorge du Verdon, beach or walking, shopping or history.

Golf and canoeing - its all within reach.

Best of all is the barbeque, blue blue sky, warm pool and spacious airy house.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thank you for such a lovely house it worked really well for us, so well organised and equipped. I loved the terrace, sitting and watching everyone in the pool. So much to see and do in the area. Aug 2014

"The house is fantastic, the pool is fantastic, we had six days of dawn to dusk sunshine - what more could anyone want? We did not feel the need to travel very far but our favourite location was Villecroze park and caves.

"We had a lovely week here with another family, we spent the first week elsewhere but I wish we had been the whole two weeks here. The house was very welcoming you thought of everything we needed to have a relaxing holiday. As our friends said, next time we would like to stay for two weeks - so much to see and do. Aug 2014

"We had another fantastic holiday here, four years in a row. We have revisited our favourite markets at Cotignac, Aups and Salernes. Swimming under the waterfall at the Verdon Gorge and we tried a canoe and pedlo this year" Aug 2014

"Thank you for a wonderful holiday, what an amazing place. We would love to come back next year" Aug 2014

"A big thank you from all of us - the villa has been perfect for 5 days of relaxation and fun there could not have been a more suitable place for our holiday. Sept 2014

A fabulous property for a family holiday in France

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at the house we were over the moon, the photo's cannot do it justice. Fantastic views, a great pool area, a clean well laid out house which is within walking distance of a lovely village. What more could we want for a holiday in Provence, Oh yes, great weather and we got that too. The surrounding area is full of things to do and see for all the family. Highly recommended. We will return as soon as we can that's for sure.

Lovely house in a great village

  • 5 of 5

We've booked for our third year running, it's a great place for a holiday. All the family love the layout of the house and pool, and the location in the village. Tourtour is a special place and it's great to be close enough to walk there, sit and watch the world go by.

We were looking for a base for our annual motorcycle trip, and this was spot on. The girls stayed by the pool all day and we were in top roads within minutes each day. The villa itself is off the beaten track so nice and quiet with good views. All the rooms were well equiped and comfortable. We hardly used the lounge, as most of our time at the villa was spent eating outside or round the dining table. The local village within walking distance is ideal for an evening meal or drink. Overall we had a fantastic stay here and would thoroughly recommend the villa and will no doubt return for another stay
