Lovely 200 year old worldly cottage

  • 4 of 5

Cottage was well placed in a lovely stretch a short walk away from the sea. We arrived very late and the cottage was very clean and tidy. All you could need for a week's long stay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night and left the next morning as my daughter was up all night coughing and couldn't get her breath - very weezy. Because the cottage is so old there was some damp (which you would expect in such an old cottage.) My little one has very bad asthma so was very poorly with it. We made the decision to leave as obviously I had to put her first. It didn't affect me or my husband and if you don't have chest or breathing problems - it probably won't affect you neither. It's such a gorgeous cottage that it was a right disappointment for us to leave. We found a very modern apartment in Tenby which wasn't half as charming or characteristic but at least my daughter was fully recovered after moving - so I was thankful about that. The owner - Simon was lovely. Really helpful and pleasant. Internet access was very very strong and worked from every nook and cranny. Living room was really cosy and lovely kitchen with a nice big table. Lots of sweet old features in the cottage - just gorgeous! 5 minutes walk and your'e at the beach which was really lovely. Lovely comfy bed and a single and bunk beds for the kids which most kids love!

I really hope my review doesn't put you off going to stay in this charming little cottage. I have to be honest and say that this cottage is a fabulous little charming, cute place to stay with every amenity you could ever need. Nothing can get to be 200 years old with not a bit of damp especially in rainy UK! My little one is very sensitive with her chest/ asthma and weighing this all up - I would say that this is (more so)the reason we had to leave as not the bit of damp. As I said it didn't bother us a bit. If you want a quiet holiday or a rowdy one! Don't hesitate in booking this little gem.

Lovely cottage, home from home, situated in a quiet spot with the best of both worlds, Forest walking or a stroll on the beach, only downside for some people who need to work is no mobile connection + TV is very hit & miss, but with nice weather who needs a TV !!

Owner's Response: Comments duly noted, the TV repair man has been called to upgrade the system, I have also asked BT to supply the sports package for computer viewing if required, at present I await the password from BT. On the mobile front T-Mobile (EE) seems to work, I do not have experience of other networks.

Lovely relaxing break

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just perfect - very well equipped and equally well cared for and obviously loved by it's owner. The location is perfect for chilling out - peaceful and just a short walk to the coast and local walks, including a National Trust property very close by and the village is only a short stroll away. The only issue we had during our week was a short powercut late one evening. Without mobile network coverage and no landline, we would have needed to go out and find an old-fashioned telephone box if the power had stayed off for long. Other than that, all was wonderful and we would thoroughly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a quiet, cosy, relaxing break.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words. Wood Cottage is very dear to us and we hope to retire there one day. It is lovely that others can enjoy it as much as us. You are very welcome to visit again. Thanks once more Simon.

Fab Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic holiday at Wood Cottage, so much so that we have booked again for October 13. The cottage was in a great spot down a quiet lane within walking distance of the beach, where we could walk our dog. The cottage was very clean and homely. We felt very comfortable there and didn't want to go home!
