Apartment in Cannes, Cote D'Azur, France - Peaceful Location, 5 minutes by car to the Croisette, close to local shopping centre.

Light, bright, white - this airy apartment sits on the top corner of a three storey building at the edge of Cannes Grand Parc, overlooking the countryside beyond. The apartment has a huge sunny balcony which doubles as a dining room, and comes with its own parking space. Cannes Grand Parc is a prestigious, secure, gated development of apartments and houses in lovely landscaped gardens right alongside the protected national park, the Croix des Gardes, which sits in the hills above Cannes. There are two communal swimming pools and a large recreation area within the Parc.

About Linda Shanks

I fell in love with France before I had even been there - through the pages of Elizabeth David's cookery books. Then for many years I got to know the various regions of France, and the distinctive cookery of each region, on annual driving and walking holidays.

Then when I finished working in London I decided to make my dream a reality by buying an apartment in the sunniest bit of France - Cannes.

I bought the apartment in Cannes Grand Parc about 6 years ago and spend 3 months a year there - usually in late Spring and early Autumn. I have got to know Cannes like the back of my hand and have made some firm friends in the town.

Why Linda Shanks chose Cannes

The sunshine and the sparkling sea are part of the reason why I bought a property in Cannes.

Plus the gorgeous swimming pools on the domaine and the proximity to local shops and the big Casino supermarket.

The domaine Cannes Grand Parc is exceptionally well run and the gardens magnificent. Colour all year round, featuring Provencal plants.

And we share a border with the magnificent national park the Croix des Gardes. So it is very quiet, but a quick bus ride into town.

What makes this apartment unique

Cannes Grand Parc is mainly inhabited by local people from Cannes, which I find very pleasant. In that sense it is not a holiday resort, and yet it features great gardens and two swimming pools.

It is very safe, clean and secure at the same time.

My apartment is a real home from home, with TV, radio, wi-fi and a very well equipped kitchen. Plus a fabulous balcony with views of the surrounding hills - and this balcony is the outdoor dining room.

Cannes Apartment

A very nice complex with a great pool and a good central position in Cannes. Lovely clean apartment with a double sofa bed and a double bedroom. Great bathroom and a very well kept kitchen with plenty of pans cups and glasses. Excellent size balcony but is totally in the shade due to roof of the property. Great table and chairs to eat all your meals.

The key holder is excellent and very friendly and responds to texts or calls instantly.

The only downside to this apartment is the French double bed which is very small and not wide enough for two adults ( who are not dwarfs lol ).

Private car parking and 24hr security is a good extra.

Owner's Response: Thank you for that review. But it does make it sound a bit like the black hole of Calcutta! Actually the balcony gets direct sunlight during the morning until about 12 noon, when the sun moves round to the front of the block.

Brilliant!

We rented the flat for a week and we were very pleased with it.

It is modern, offering good facilities ( dishwasher, washing machine etc ) and really close to the beach.

It is also very convenient as it is only 5 minutes away from the centre of Cannes and the famous " La Croisette".

I would definitely recommend it, whether it's for a couple or a small family.

Very quiet and relaxing, perfect for a holiday.
