Penthouse Apartment in Muo, Kotor Bay, Montenegro - Large 2 Bedroom, Fabulous Shared Pool, Magnificent Views

This high-spec top floor penthouse apartment with full air-conditioning was completed in 2008 and is bright, airy and extremely relaxing. It is part of a small development with only 18 apartments and comes with a private parking space, shared use of a large swimming pool and comfortable sunbeds, an outside barbecue area with a lovely shaded seating area which also benefits from the breathtaking views of the bay. Views of the Fjord and the citadel of Kotor from the 2 terraces of the apartment are breathtaking and there is nothing more relaxing than sitting on the balcony sipping a drink, watching the sun go down. Tivat Airport is only a 15 min drive away or Dubrovnik airport is 90 mins. The waterfront of the Fjord, the beautiful town of Kotor, shops, bars, and restaurants are only a short walk away. Nearby are Tivat Marina, Sveti Stefan, several National Parks, Lakes and Tara the worlds 2nd largest Canyon.

The views from the balcony are spectacular, the apartment is spacious and comfortable with every need taken care of. Your travel notes were extremely useful - we ate in Villa Ferri twice, celebrated our 10th year wedding anniversary at Stari Mlini and visited Sveti Stefani and some of the beaches. The people are very friendly. The only regret we have is that we stayed just for one week. We wished it could have been for longer and are certainly planning to come back. Many thanks once again. So enjoyable!

Nice property, clean and good for families. The view itself is worth it! We so enjoyed sitting on the balcony both in the mornings and in the evenings. The view is stupendous, the photos do not exaggerate one bit. So relaxing to lay by the pool or have a glass or nibble on the balcony.

We had a car as it's a little far to walk to town but not impossible. Kotor is lovely and the food, particularly the beef, is so good. Lots of restaurants along the water outside the old town too. The night view of the Old Town and its city walls was one of the best things about this apartment.

Andrea, and her property manager Anka, were very responsive to any concerns or questions we had. We really enjoyed the area and would love to go back! Thank you Andrea!

We would highly recommend this apartment - exactly as the photos show, very clean and well equipped. The views are fantastic. Even on the one wet day we enjoyed watching the cruise ships appearing through the cloud.

The e-mails were responded to very quickly and the directions / information provided was really helpful.

Great apartment in a fantastic location

Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 weeks in August 2014 and had one our best holidays yet. The apartment was exactly as the photos show you and was well equipped. The pool is great, probably around 12 metres so big enough to do laps. From the balcony you can watch the ever changing scene of boats passing along the bay. We hired a car for 3 weeks which I would recommend, as you get to see so much more of this beautiful country and the lovely swimming areas around the mountains, although to Montenegrin drivers are an experience! I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

propre, fonctionnel, un peu excentré..

Appartement très propre, fonctionnel et plutôt bien agencé... La vue est superbe et vous pourrez profiter d'un sentiment de quiétude lors de vos apéros sur terrasse.. Le ballet des croisiéristes qui investissent chaque jour la baie est assez amusant...

Nous avons regretté la literie, de piètre qualité. La vaisselle est un peu juste (peu de verre et cuillères...) et le mobilier sur terrasse n'est pas terrible (pour ce dernier point, notre appart uniquement, les autres semblaient mieux lotis.. )

L'accès au parking demande de bien manœuvrer lors de l'entrée mais le stationnement est plutôt facile.. Prudence lors de votre arrivée.. c'est un peu au bout du bout d'un chemin en terre.. C'est surprenant lors de la 1ère arrivée et finalement, on oubli assez vite... La voiture est constamment nécessaire.. (même si vous pouvez atteindre la baie à pieds avec un petite marche mais l'accès aux différents pontons semble privatif).. Une fois garé, il faut descendre quelques marches (équivalence de 2 ou 3 étage) et si vous logez au 2nd, c'est peu le jeu des montées/descentes...

La piscine est très très appréciable (visiblement chauffée) et l'accès à un BBQ et au wifi est un vrai plus..

Cela reste un très bon rapport qualité/prix mais il semble nécessaire de constamment se déplacer...

From the Owner

We first came to Montenegro in 2005 and loved it and have gone back every year since. We bought our apartment in Kotor View because it is such a relaxing, quiet and stunning place to spend a holiday. It is easy to get to from all over Europe with flights to Tivat and Dubrovnik and once you are there you can do as much or as little as you choose.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Tivat at 15 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Muo at 3 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Villa Ferri at 0.5 Kilometres Nearest Ski : Durmitor ski area at 180 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Kotor Bay at 1 Kilometres Car: recommended


The apartment is a 5 min walk to the beautiful clear waters of Kotor bay and there are many little pebbled beaches along the waterfront to lay out on. If you prefer larger sandier beaches there are several within a short drive of the apartment. There is Jaz beach which is the most famous (where the Rolling Stones and Madonna played) or there is Plavi Horizonti with its restaurant, playground, showers and sunbeds and umbrellas for hire is perfect for families.


Tivat airport is only 10 minutes drive away on the far side of a mountain so no plane noise! Dubrovnik airport is about 90 mins drive (allowing time to cross the border), about 70km.

Would recommend hiring a car as there are so many things to see, though transfers from Dubrovnik can be arranged (we can give you the number of the local car hire firm we use when we visit who do excellent rates for our guests and if you prefer not to drive our meet and greet lady can arrange a transfer for you).


Muo is 25 mins walk/5 mins by car from the UNESCO heritage Citadel of Kotor. Buses also run near to the apartment and taxis can be found in plentiful supply. It is worth visiting Sveti Stefan (1 hour drive), the Tara Canyon (do a day trip), Perast (30 min drive), the many National Parks etc. The beauty of Montenegro is you can do as much or as little as you please.

Further Details:

The town of Kotor with its many restaurants, bars, nightlife and shops is only a 25 min walk away. There are also some bars and restaurants locally in Muo itself which are only a 5 min walk from the apartment. Large supermarkets are a short drive away for a big shop, banks are in plentiful supply, visa and mastercard are widely accepted and the local currency is the euro. Montenegro itself is a beautiful country which is steeped in history and has magnificent scenery. You can spend your time on excursions around the bay and into the inland of Montenegro. Details of local tour operators can be provided.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment itself is perfect for children as it is open plan and spacious. The balcony areas are completely safe and serve as extensions to the apartment. Outside: Within the grounds, there is a large swimming pool, terrace and lawn area with plenty of space for kids to play, and a barbecue area with plenty of seating for large groups, all for the exclusive use of residents. This is in addition to the private parking enjoyed by visitors to the apartment, and all within 5 minutes walk of the water. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included for use in the apartment. You may wish to bring beach towels for the pool or beach. The property is cleaned and linen changed on changeover days. More frequent changes can be arranged at an additional cost if required.
